I was surprised by how rudely I was treated here since I've come through here with my group before. The other comments about racial profiling are unfortunately founded with the older women at the checkout. Quite unkind and unhelpful: (

The flowershop service was really nice when I purchased some flowers there. She made my pot of flowers look so nice.

It's like most of the other Patterson group. 1 thing I do not like is the monopoly on stores/groceries.as well as IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD FIND A DIFFERENT JOB/CARRER.stop yelling at customers and for the LOVE OF GOD.

Very nice interior and exterior, nice employees, has a hair salon and a pharmacy with a drive-thru, and prices are really good!

Felt like chicken tonight. My beautiful wife suggested I go to Save on Foods for roasted chicken, well. I bought one $13. Got back and started to eat it. It's totally dried out! Over cooked. It's the worst rotisserie chicken I've ever had. I called the store. Manager is calling me tomorrow. They can pay for my Gas and refund me, I'm totally Disgusted with save on Foods!

I went into the store to purchase a sirloin tip roast that was advertised in their flyer. After perusing their meat section I couldn't find any roasts other than bottom round and a few other low end cuts. So I spoke to one of the butchers. I asked him if they had anymore sirloin tip roasts as advertised and was immediately informed that they had none left.

This was 2 days after the flyer became active. But the worst part of the visit was that the butcher tried to upsell cheaper cuts of meat at the sale price to "placate" me. Unfortunately the other roasts he was trying to upsell were the same low end cuts of meat on the shelves and since I didn't feel like buying a roast that was less tender than my sandals I left.

But what's really annoying is the fact that this is the 3rd time in a little over one year I've gone into that store to purchase an onsale meat product only to be told that there was none left. A fact which makes me wonder if they're using it as a hook and bringing in just enough to keep from having themselves fined for false advertising.

So I have given up using that store and for the record one of the times I went in before to buy the on sale meat and was given the same excuse I went to two other Save On Foods stores in town and oddly enough got the exact same response. But at least one of the store managers offered me a "rain check" which was nice but didn't alleviate the problem of not having an advertised item. '

The rest of the store is fine and well stocked but if you're going to buy on sale meat from them I'd suggest camping out at the front door before the flyer becomes valid otherwise you likely won't find their sales meat.

Their delivery drivers are the best and good customer service is refreshing to experience. Love their vegan options too! Thank you to your staff.

On the weekend I purchased a bag of mini cucumbers. Today, Tuesday, the contents were slimy and rotting. I highly resent paying for food like that. We are in a recession, the cost of food has been ridiculous as Pattison lines his pockets. This is obscene. Wont be giving Pattison any more of my money. Shame!

I do all our shopping here and points systems the better way to go, great prices, great lay out and so many brands I like and store brand name is actually decent too. Matt the store manager went above and beyond to help my family this Christmas can't say enough good things about this location

I ordered a Charcuterie tray which I picked up with my Turkey dinner.
The tray was $45.99 and worth about $20. Most of it was the dry bread and walnuts, almonds and olives. The Gouda cheese was half dry so had been out for a while, the salami’s were minimum amounts and dry. I would not pay that amount again, it was terrible and when I ordered the young male told me he didn’t know the price. It was supposed to feed 10-14 people. Funny there were not enough slices of meat to do 5 persons. Extremely disappointed. Kiwi fruit and grape fill ins are not normal on an appetizer plate. Not one grape was fresh and crunchy but soft and flavourless. It was a good thing I had purchased cold meats yesterday as I had to put them out with proper biscuits. I also had to put out pickles, not very many people eat olives out of 6 of us I was the only one.
I hope management reads this as I am a regular customer but I will never order a tray again from your store.

Save on Foods near the Woodgrove mall is our most popular grocery shopping center. We have lived in Nanaimo for over 2 years now & after visiting many grocery centers we have returned there most frequently where product is normally fresh with reasonable prices.

Certain cuts of popular meats not stocked, lack of lunch meat choices, poor quality of potatoes, very small red potatoes, empty shelves. This is not the store I once knew. Pharmacy top notch, friendly staff always.

I wanted to recognize Shannon in the pharmacy, I called about a week ago about a benefit plan and she remembered the situation today right away and helped me sort it out! Great memory and customer service. Thank you!

Have been out of both 11L & 18L water bottles since Early August.
I've came by almost weekly to see if there is stock and there never is. There are no caps for them either. I'm wondering if they are even making an effort to restock them. I will have to give my business to someone who cares. When it comes to water, shop somewhere else.

This Save-On-Foods location has also decided to end the physical flyer that has been available for over 20 years and instead gone over to digital ONLY. If you want to go digital that is fine. But don't take the physical paper flyer away from those of us that use it. You will lose business doing this. I don't use electronics unless I have to.
I prefer paper. There are other grocery stores in town I can shop at if you are going to be too cheap to produce a handful of papers.

I noticed as well they have stopped giving customers the save-on-foods customer card, and again opted instead for digital ONLY by stopping cards being handed out and forcing people to comply by using a cellphone and saveonfoods app with a QR code/Barcode. This is another way of tracking customers and their purchases. I am aware that too there are cameras and AI that monitors your movements through the store and your purchases for each customer.

Seriously, stop destroying yourselves while you can. Leave well enough alone. I surely hope you retain your checkout lanes that employee many people. If this is reduced I will no longer shop here. It's not convenient to bag my own groceries. Do I get paid for doing your jobs? I should at least get a discount for working for free. But we know that isn't going to happen.

More like Save-on-Nothing! Download a competitor grocers app such as thriftys and you will quickly see nearly every product is cheaper. Daryl is fat enough already, spend your money locally. Save on is not locally owned and they have very few locally produced products. If you don't believe me try finding a Vancouver Island coffee brand - they are not sold at Save on!

Stopped at the pharmacy later than I had intended not realizing it closed earlier. Pharmacist was very pleasant and offered to dispense my pre filled prescription. Always kind and thoughtful staff. They seem to really care.

I don't think I feel comfortable shopping here anymore. I'm constantly racially profiled even though I pay for everything I leave with. The workers that follow me aren't even subtle about it, and its pretty insulting. Just let me shop in peace.
