Only large grocery store in Downtown Kamloops besides small specialty food stores & convenience stores. Cheaper big-box stores are located in Sahali.

Save-On-More points cards, cashiers do not always use "store cards" to provide savings as they did before. To ensure sale prices and offers best to have your own card or app ready.

No self-checkout. Kind of run-down. Staff not really friendly. Good location and lots of parking

Ashton was amazing at check out - genuinely made the effort to have a quick conversation- don’t see that much these days:)

Long lines, overpriced goods and slow cashiers make a five minute grocery trip go for 20 minutes. Needs serious improvement and price cuts

Prices are quite high. This is not my first choice for grocery shopping with a large family. Staff are helpful. I go here usually to buy flower bouquets.
The staff do a nice job of wrapping the bouquet. Using tissue and ribbons and a card of your choice.

Lately this store has been very good and having everything in stock. Lineups don't seem to be so long. Security is really good and keeps out the riffraff out

Save on is a good grocery stores in kamloops. Supervisors are lovely and we can find nice service with other staffs.

Good selection of stuff. Points reward program is worth it as well if your a cibc card holder as well
24 May 2022 4:52
Save on is as good as always. Bit pricey but good deals on meat and bread. You'd get big plants in Costco for 12 dollar while you'll get palm height plant from saveon.

Very nice grocery store, with convenient locations all over kamloops.
I like that they can use phone number if you forgot rewards card and/or a house rewards card, finally no more 0 points for a 400.00 dollar shop.
Always clean, always stocked. Curtious, quick service. I go for all my grocery needs. In store sales & case lot sales are great savers.

Great service from the deli. The manager of the department was great, the platters were made beautifully and she was on the ball with helping me get the 3 massive platters out of the store with ease. Thank you Save On Foods at Landsdown

Really friendly and helpful staff here. Super clean and well cared for store, especially considering the extra challenges they face in this particular area of town. Lots of regular sales and deals on many items. Great in store specials as well. Wish there was more sale items in the fruits/vegetables section, but that is not their fault. Just an unfortunate sign of the times.

It is a ok grocer with mainstream products and a little bit of local such as orso negro coffee from Nelson

Just popped in for a few over priced items and went to pay. The gentleman that was helping me seemed quite perturbed that I interrupted his conversation with the young girl working with him. I then did not receive a "hello" or "how are you" or a "thank you" or a "goodbye" or "have a nice day". I was very pleasant to him but there was absolutely no verbal interaction from him whatsoever. Like I know you can talk you were just talking with the young girl you were working with, but not with your customers! I don't think I'll ever be back! I think I would actually almost rather go to Walmart then to this store ever again!

Certainly not the most inexpensive store although they do have good deals every week. Aside from that, it is the best grocery store in Kamloops for produce freshness and selection. Very clean. Great deli. Friendly staff most of the time.

I normally shop at Independent grocery on the North Shore at North hills mall but I happened to be downtown and needed a couple of items to get me to my normal grocery day. So I stopped at Saveon foods at Lansdowne plaza and 4 Activia yogurt and a box of Harvest crunch cereal which cost just about 25.00 dollars and I was really shocked at there prices compared to where I normally shop so I went and priced the exact items at Independent because I thought there's no way that there would be such a big difference so when I priced the exact same items it cam to roughly 17.00 dollars I kid you not and that a big difference for someone on a budget. While I was there I was looking at items I normally buy at Independent and Saveon foods definitely has way higher prices and if I would of gotten my normal grocery order that normally cost me about 100 t0 120 dollars it would have cost me way more at Saveon foods. So even if your not on a budget why would anyone want to pay those prices if you didn't have to plus Independent gives Optimum points which is a complete bonus where Saveon gives Saveon points so I don't know about you but like being able to spend my points for gas or Shopper's drug mart or groceries not just groceries. I hope you find this helpful because Saveon prices are outrageous and you can get a lot more for your money at Independent grocery stores.

Showed up at 8: 58 to buy a lumberjack sandwich and the doors were locked. Day ruined and macros missed.
26 March 2021 7:46
They make good sandwiches fresh everyday as well as good fresh made foods. Good place to run in quickly and still get a deal.
14 March 2021 7:39
Bright, clean, and usually the lines are quick. The last two times I have been there someone has been escorted out, but the Security team seems pleasant enough.

Was disappointed when I tried to check my two lotto tickets and was told they do not check tickets (but have displays for lotto at the till and other locations have a lotto)

One of the grocery managers at this location, I think his name was Chad.was awesome. Another location had the oat coffee creamer I needed but since it was on the bottom of their stock, said to come back tomorrow. This location has the same situation but was able to get to it pretty quickly for me. Which was a godsend because I had none left, and can be a tad.you know.without my coffee.

The place was clean, the staff were amazing and friendly! Everyone was wearing masks and they all seemed happy!
01 January 2021 3:39
Well organized, clean fully stocked. The manager is always on the floor working asking how she can help.

VERY expensive, but they can get away with it since they're the only grocery store downtown. To put it in perspective: 700g of cheese here is 12-16 dollars, but at Superstore and Freshco it's $8-9. That's a HUGE difference, and it's only one of many. Not all items are overpriced, but definitely make sure to price compare before shopping here.

In addition, as someone else here said the employees are either very nice, or.not so much.
When it's cold/cloudy/rainy, many cashiers will go on a rant about it and berate me whenever I say that I like it. When it's hot/sunny they'll go on and on about it and berate me whenever I say that I don't like it.
Some make fun of what I order, many times in front of other customers.
Others have commented on the shirt or pins that I wear and make fun of them. Not in a bullying way (or else I'd have complained), but in a rude and inconsiderate way regardless.

One cashier in particular harasses my partner and I whenever we're here. We haven't had him in a while (or else we'd have complained by now), but whenever we see him he pesters us about our relationship status. The last time we saw him, he kept poking and prodding ("Brothers? Twins? Friends? Roommates? ").
He wouldn't take the hint and-even though we were both visibly uncomfortable, and other customers were nearby-he still wouldn't give up.
What's even stranger is that (aside from the fact that we look nothing alike) a few weeks before that, he saw our rings and commented on them. We told him that we were a couple and (although visibly uncomfortable) he said it was cool.
Yet weeks later, despite recognising us, he went straight into denial and tried to pass our relationship off as platonic, if not family. Bizarre, and insulting.

Despite all of that, I DO like the store. It's comfortable and usually pretty quick to get what I need and checkout. There are many polite cashiers that do their job without ranting/raving, and many go the extra mile.
I just wish that the prices were cheaper and the professionalism was more consistent.

This is the worst Save on in Kamloops. They are constantly out of stock of lots of items and have a terrible selection of products in general. Their employees, despite me having shopped there on a regular basis for years, still follow me around the store and treat me like a criminal. I had a cashier argue with me after I told him I wanted to bag my items myself, if a customer says they want to bag their own groceries, just let them. It is a toss up as to whether the cashier you get will be polite or blatantly rude, or whether an employee will be able to answer a question of where something is or if they carry something you are looking for. Most of the time, they won't even bother to find anyone and ask them for help if they can't answer your question, that's all a part of customer service 101.
Very, very pricey.

It’s a convenient place especially where I live, it’s just pretty expensive (especially compared to Super Store). I really wish they would make room for self checkout somewhere in there.

Love this food store! The first thing you see when you walk in to your right is fresh produce, different varieties. This place is always busy and very clean! The meat is fresh and we'll priced! Also there is ready to serve meals for on the go and the staff is very friendly and polite. Very helpful if you need something YOU cannot find, they go out of there way to help you! I will continue to shop there when I'm in there neck of the woods!

Well. My sister says you have the best 7layer dip. Looks like the Mandersin oranges are out. Christmas must be here soon.
15 January 2020 15:28
Staff can be very pleasant. They put way to much stuff in the rows especially on the ends when people are trying to turn corners. Everyone complains about it and they don't change.

Store was well stocked. Shelf stocker was friendly when I asked about an item I was trying to find on shelf.
Cashier was very friendly. An item I found on shelf was marked on sale but stocker who did price check told cashier and I, it was in the wrong place, but gave me the item at that price.
Felt like the good old days of grocery shopping, with that kind of service.
12 September 2019 14:52
I shop there every day. They are friendly and prices are good. They should open more tils especially between 6 & closing.
27 August 2019 14:26
Good fresh groceries - prices good if you have the save on foods card. Clean market and friendly staff.
23 August 2019 15:45
I don't know if this store is going out of business, but their selection is abysmal. Everytime I go there I need to make another stop to get everything I need. I'm not getting exotic stuff either. For instance, on this particular shopping trip I needed a nice beef roast and some corn. They had 6 roasts (two different cuts) out and they were expensive for the cut (I could have bought 3 inside round at Costco for the price of 1 inside round at this store). No prime rib. No standing rib. I ended up getting one that had expired the day before. The corn was so old that Ramses II probably picked it himself (every cob I went through was wrinkly and the top 1/4 was bare of kernals). Peaches were like 3.49$/lb and if they were any less ripe they still would have been flowers. It's like they bought the crappiest produce and decided to make up for it by selling them at premium prices to make the consumer think that "if it's expensive it must be good. " Line ups at the tills are painfully slow. Staff are polite and friendly (best part of the store).

Is SahaliThis particular location is not one of the better ones. A lot of out of stocks, lousy meat dept. The best location
04 March 2019 18:54
Friendly staff, kinda expensive mostly name brands it seems though there is a bit of generic brands. They let you use the bathroom even if your not buying stuff. Their loyalty points card helps save a bit on their kinda expensive meats etc.
12 January 2019 20:52
One of the nices places to get your food and many more things. Prices are equal to anything eles in Kamloops, and they always have great sales. Or at least everything I like to buy is on special. The staff are always friendly and the lines are never long, so you really never have to wait very long. All in all a great place with great food at great prices.

Great service, shelves are more often than not stocked, only complaint would be sometimes the "Express" lane is long and slow, because they do lottery, cigarettes and customer service through that till.
