Dined in on a Friday night and our server Ly, was so kind and accommodating. We got the tom yum, spring rolls, green curry, pad thai w tamarind sauce, and green beans with prawn in red curry paste. So delicious!

The service was amazing they are friendly and the food is tasty, all the dishes were good and the quantity is ok for the price.

Went here for the first time as I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile (on Sept 16 2023). The restaurant was half empty. The hostess was the most rude I've dealt with in awhile. He immediately said there would be a 1 hr wait, I agreed to put my name down and he seemed upset and rolled his eyes at me. When gathering my information he had a very hostile energy. I saw two ladies go up after I did and the wait time suddenly jumped from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. It was pretty obvious he didn't want anyone else to dine there that evening. Not cool. We ended up going to MEET 3 doors down. They were able to seat us right away and gave incredible and friendly service, what a difference!

Came here after reading all the reviews and we don't understand why this place is so raved about. The most disappointing dish we had was the pad kra pow. We've had it many many times in Vancouver and in Thailand so we are familiar with what it is. When they served us the pad kra pao, it just looked like sliced meat stir fried. Initially we thought they gave us the wrong dish, and so were confused when they said it was the pad kra pao. When I clarified and said we usually see it with the meat minced up, they told us that if we wanted it "Thai style" we had to specify, if not they do it this way. "Thai style" was also an extra dollar charge, which is fine but I wish we had that option in the first place.

I mean. We were at a Thai restaurant so obviously we wanted things done the authentic Thai way? They also said if they serve it with the meat minced up, it looks less so they served it sliced up instead. Very weird comment. Like figure out your plating or portion then?

Overall weird experience and definitely was not worth 30 mins wait. At least drinks were cheap? Pad Thai done with the tumeric sauce was OK. And the tom kha kai was good.

Maybe we ordered the "wrong" things here but I don't think we'll be back. There are a lot of other better Thai restaurants in the city.

I LOVED our meal at Sawasdee. I especially crave (and have tried to replicate) the crying tiger sauce with grilled steak. Lovely, warm staff and delicious food at a reasonable price, what more do you need? Can’t wait to go back!

As someone who has been to Thailand many many times, the food here is far from authentic. The seasoning is overly sweet, very westernized Thai food. The stir fry mix seafood should be called stir fry mushroom instead theres alot more canned mushroom than seafood.
Disappointed.

This place was excellent! We didn't have reservations but they bent over backwards to help get us a table right away. Truly felt like a guest in their home. Wonderful friendly server and delicious food! We'll be coming back for more all the way from Squamish. Wish we had a Thai food place like this in our town!

I had dinner here with a friend after an exam and it was a great experience. The food was delicious and had great portions. Their Thai iced tea was very delicious. Would definitely come again.

Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Vancouver. Amazingly delicious food and drinks and wonderful ambiance. 100% recommend.

We had the pad sew iew and the fried full fish (tilapia) and iced thai tea. Service was fantastic and attentive, giving great suggestions on what would go with that. The tilapia did unfortunately have a bit of the bad flavor that tilapia can get, but the sauce was delicious and it was perfectly fried! Just wish the fish itself had been better. Overall we would come back and try other dishes next time:).

Such an authentic place with the best thai food I’ve ever tried! Yellow curry- tastiest thing in the whole world and those purple dumpling have a special place in my heart now (and belly too)

We love this restaurant, the service is excellent and food is very good. Our favourite items to order is the stuffed chicken wings, duck curry, tamarind pad thai and basil pork. Honestly everything here is really delicious! Highly recommended!

Driest overcooked crying beef ever. We ordered beef pad Thai and they brought out the shrimp one. It was 6pm but it was freaking hot inside, they don't even have a fan for their customers, my neck was sweaty after dining here. Won't come back.

The staff here care about providing a positive dining experience. They are very attentive and prompt. We ordered thai tea, non-alcoholic Shirley Temple, Pad Thai in tamarind sauce, Sawasdee fried rice, Pad Kra Prao Moo and garlic chicken. The drinks were refreshing, rich, and sweet. The Pad Thai was excessively sweet and the other dishes were bland. I think we didn’t order the right dishes. For me, Thai food is ultra comforting, didn’t feel that way about the food here.

We went there almost near their closing time and they were super friendly and caring. Also the taste of food is awesome. One of the best pad thais in vancouver.

I ordered take-out. First of all, everyone working for this restaurant is an angel. They are so nice and welcoming it honestly made me anticipate hard for the food. And, yes, the food was SO GOOD. I had pad-thai and the Drunk Noodle (Idk what it's called on the menu). Both were amazing! I recommend Sawasdee and I plan to visit again

Best Thai food in town, servers are friendly and helpful, eat here if you want some authentic Thai flavor and quality eats.

The food at this restaurant was incredible! We got 4 entrees and each one of them were sooo good! Would’ve been a 5-star experience hands down if the servers had not tried to hurry us up because they closed at 9p. We got there at 8: 25p and there was plenty of time for us to eat in peace without having to be rushed. This is the first restaurant I have ever been to where the staff kept coming to the table asking to clear the dishes because they close at 9p. By 9p we were done paying and had to leave because they were in a hurry to close.

I would rate their food 4 stars, really tasty pad thai. Their staff are so kind and caring that they well deserve five stars

Such a patient server, very helpful with menu suggestions and made sure everything was exceeding expectations; it all did. 3 main dishes, an appetizer, sides and non alcoholic drinks was under $90. Amazing all around. The garlic beef and flower dumplings were particularly special. Can't wait to go back!

Sawasdee serves one of the best and authentic Thai dishes. My table ordered total of five dishes and enjoyed every single one of them. I tried Cho Muang for the first time which was delicious! The Tom Yum was certainly the best Tom Yum I have ever had Both fried rice and Pad Thai was unique and scrumptious. And what more can I say about Coconut Curry Each dish was less than 20 dollars with good amount of portions.
Also I was very satisfied with the friendly, fast and efficient staff who were very accommodating and prompt to meet the customers’ need. Our server was super attentive when taking our orders and answered our questions attentively.
My experience in Sawasdee very memorable and satisfying. I cannot wait to go back as it has become my favorite Thai restaurant in Vancouver.

Nothing like a meal at my fave Thai restaurant, Sawasdee. Ordered a few dishes and everything was so flavourful and on point. Order the garlic pork vs the beef. Each dish was about $17-20 each. Service was friendly, courteous and quick. Call for reservations as this place is buzzing!

Incredible! We walked in tonight and they had a table for us right away and we had a time limit because they were going to be a full house past 6: 30,
And we gladly took it. We weren't even an hour; food came out so incredibly fast we were happily shocked and it was soo fresh. Tom Kah Soup with chicken is my go to everywhere & it's a healthy and delicious comfort food/ having been first time here I was so satisfied with the flavour and the cool mushrooms.they're called straw mushrooms. They resemble olives but are mushrooms. (never had those mushrooms but love them)
The #67 I believe it was and I can't remember but it was a seafood dish. Soo fresh & the popular pad thai the server suggested was fantastic. It wasn't the red one but the other dish. Just ask for the most popular pad thai.anyways! We ate and left before 6: 30 & continued on our road trip. My husband would be thrilled so I'm going to try and take him here as soon as we can. The baby in belly loved the dishes to hehe.

Amazing food, amazing location, amazing service with great portion sizes. As a vegetarian, I was extremely impressed with the taste and quality of the food. Highly recommend!

First time here for our daughter's birthday. What a treat, the food was amazing as well as the service, so attentive. The curries were excellent, especially the coconut curry inside the coconut

Last night at our favourite Thai restaurant, we were disappointed. These are our go-to dishes, so we are familiar with what they should be ; the satay peanut sauce was watery as was the yellow curry. The Pad
Thai was mushy. Something was missing in the Papaya Salad. The prawns with cashew nuts was a new dish for us but was bland. However, the crying tiger beef was delicious. Maybe the chef was not at his or her best last night or is new.

Absolutely delicious! I need to write a proper review where I include the actual names of my favourite dishes instead of my lazy white person made up names (sorry!). Like purple flower dumplings, chicken coconut dish.mmmm.
