ScanDesigns Furniture

This is the second time we have outfitted our home with ScanDesigns furniture, and are thrilled with the look and the quality of every item. The staff in Nanaimo were good humoured about our many trips to the store to add yet another item to our delivery order, and made it work. The team who delivered our new furniture were also great.

The team at scan designs in Nanaimo and Victoria were extremely accommodating and very polite to deal with. Very satisfied with our experience and purchases. The 2 gents that delivered were most excellent and helpful while moving old furniture around to fit in the new items.

We bought super comfortable, stylish couches and a chair from ScanDesign in Coquitlam. Our friendly sales rep, Ellen Doll, could not have been more patient as we perused all the options before making our decision, and, because we were moving to Vancouver Island, suggested that ScanDesign could store the furniture for us up to six months.

When we were ready to take delivery, about two months later, we met with Julie Peel at ScanDesign in Nanaimo. After a brief explanation, Julie contacted the Coquitlam store and rapidly completed all the arrangements for the delivery, which happened right on schedule. Excellent customer service.

With Julie's assistance, we bought a lovely walnut bureau, night tables, and an office desk chair. She encouraged us to contact her if we had any questions or needed additional products. We have, and she always responds within 24 hours. We will definitely continue to shop at ScanDesign. Outstanding staff and service, not to mention reasonably priced, good quality products.

Anna was absolutely amazing in assisting me with my recent purchase from Scan Designs. Her product knowledge and compassion/understanding (when the product/colour I wanted was not available) was truly outstanding. Anna took the time and showed me a multitude of options. Once I had chosen the pieces, Anna ensured that delivery would co-ordinate with the renovations seamlessly. Super impressed with the level of service and quality of the furniture. Terrible customer service, vary unprofessional owner avoid at all cost, don’t spend a dime with these crooks

Horrible customer service experience. Will never spend a penny in their store again. Spent over 4500 on a bedroom set and lounge chairs, product was shipped damaged and smells like it was stuck in a shipping container for years. They wouldn't return my money nor compensate for the damage to the chairs or headboard. Buyers be aware!

Good range of high quality and specialty furniture. Salesman very knowledgeable and spent plenty of time explaining the different aspects of the items we were looking at. No pressure, just excellent professional assistance. Very good Western Canadian company who know their products well. Excellent source of comfortable quality furniture.

Customer service is absolutely terrible. Absolutely zero negotiation, they would rather watch you walk out the door. The girl I delt with was like talking with a robot. Zero emotion, zero human connection. Would not recommend this place.

I would like to convey my appreciation and top marks for the organization for and service of my some 12 year old Stressless recliner. Paul (in management, his support staff in the office and in technical support Vince and his colleagues have all been courteous and professional. The new core, auxiliary fittings and the leather all fitted and refurbished in a matter of hours, brilliant. Another 12 years for sure. Very happy! Highly recommended! G.

Worst customer service. Ordered furniture online at the price shown, ordered processed as confirmed in email to have store manager cancel order and refund cc payment (as shown in second email) to have store call and say they made a price error on website. Would not honour mistake stating they can change the pricing at anytime as stated in terms and agreements. Would not recommend purchasing anything from NAnaimo location or even speaking with the manager. Manager questioned motives to purchasing item due to sale price.

Aaron has always giving us the best pricing AND best service! Bar none there is no better MODERN furniture store on the island. Why pay through the nose for your grandmas furniture the competitors carry (Brick= when, for better pricing and top notch service Scan delivers! Aaron will accommodate!

We purchased a live edge dining room table, couch, sideboard, and two desks from ScanDesigns in early 2019. All of the products are excellent quality and priced well, and we received excellent sales service from Briden (who searched for the table we wanted) and delivery service from James and his team. We're looking forward to adding more beautiful ScanDesigns pieces to our home!

The product is exceptionally well engineered to provide support and comfort. I Used to envision leather created into a very timeless Scandinavian design. In other words a bit limited in scope. I appreciate the aesthetic of this design but thought I would only ever maybe buy one chair.
They know us by name, now. I no longer have that mis-perception.
We bought living room furniture in May and they are still storing it for us until our addition is finished. We search on line and pop into other furniture stores on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver. Scan design in Nanaimo is where we go back to.
I just phoned Julie and ordered a coffee table. No problems - she said. She will put my name on it for pick up when ever I want, or it can wait until the rest is delivered. Entirely up to the customer. We have our eyes on 2 amazing dining chairs, plus a console that folds out into a 6 seater dining table. In a smaller space it will b perfect. We first went in to Muse & Merchant, Scan Designs’ sister store earlier in 2018. You can wander between the two. Brydon was brilliant in explaining to us the design concepts and never ending (or so it feels) ability, to choose, different densities of cushioning and a 30’ wall of fabrics to choose from in Muse & Merchant. If looking for furniture of many design concepts, with a myriad of options then Muse & Merchant is a MUST GO!
Brydon then took us into Scan Design, which I thought would be out of our budget. Once again, there is a very large % of furniture (most) that is available in small, medium or large. Wonderfully creative side tables to pair with relaxation chairs, that recline according to the way a human’s spine unfurls when lying back. We decided on a table that attaches to my husbands recliner. The table pivots on a horizontal plane and then angles up to lock in place, where he needs it to, to place his iPad or Laptop on. The small protruding stainless plugs ensure any device or book/magazine won’t topple off onto the floor.
Julie and Brydon both, know their products, be it in Scan or Muse. They are enthusiastic about what they offer. There haven’t been many questions we asked where they can’t say “yes” or immediately provide another option or show us the value that perhaps we hadn’t seen. They also easily pick up or move two or three items together, or closer to the sunlight, in order to be able to see true colours and compare for decision making. Our living and dining purchases are almost complete. Soon it will be bedroom. We know where we will be going.
