My first spa experience was an excellent one. I love this place and will come back. The Eucalyptus steam room was my fave. The saunas are so nice, hearing the fire crackle in the fireplace heating the room, ahh. So nice.

A nice spot to visit in Whistler especially after a long hike. The perfect place to relax and unwind. A reservation is recommended as it can get quite busy.
17 November 2023 13:14
Loved it so much we went back 3 days later! It’s very relaxing and large enough to accommodate a lot of people. I really loved that there were multiple options of hot, cold and relax activities so you can stay for several hours and each cycle is different. Staff was really kind and everything was clean and well maintained. Wish we had
One closer to home but will absolutely go back when we are in whistler again.

Thank you for making a wonderful birthday experience for my partner. Didn't want to leave.
06 September 2023 22:03
I absolutely loved my time here. I got a deep-tissue massage with Catherine, it was divine, I was so sad when it ended. I spent 2.5 hours in the baths/rooms after. Honestly, you can spend 3-4 hours there. It is a quiet spa, there's enough parking if you get there early (9am).

The most tranquil spot in Canada by far. There is a reason this spa is world renowned. Whether you are just visiting for a thermal journey, or enjoying a treatment you won’t be disappointed. It is a bit on the pricey side for massages, but well worth it and priced accordingly with other spas in the area, but far superior.

WARNING: Do NOT go here during COVID. Neither mine nor my friend's vaccination status and ID were checked at the entrance. I have since learned there are no vaccine requirements to enter. Had I known, I would never have gone! My friend also received a massage from an employee who told her AFTER the treatment that she was not vaccinated (but the employer tests her). Is she really being tested daily? I find that hard to believe considering vaccines are not required to enter. Why is NONE of this information being disclosed before you fork over $300 and enter the premises? I am angry that I was not given the opportunity to make an informed decision about my health. For this reason alone, I will never be back.

Because the towels and robes are not numbered/coloured, there was often confusion about which robe/towel was your's. Yuck. Nothing is being wiped down after each use either. Double Yuck. I deeply regret going in the steam room in particular, with others who may not have been vaccinated.

This is also not the place to go with another person - you CANNOT talk ANYWHERE. If you do speak, you will immediately be told to stop (the grounds are "patrolled" by employees with ear buds, just like the secret service). Maybe this is a good thing if you're a couple (e.g. You don't want to talk to each other anymore), but I quickly grew tired of relying on hand gestures to communicate with my friend for hours.

Overall, the experience was horrible. I now feel the need to self-isolate for a week, because I have immune-compromised family members.
18 January 2022 5:31
Beautiful, luxurious spa in a stunning natural environment. I used to love coming here, and would have given 5 stars, but for their Covid policy. I was disappointed to see that Scandinave has opted to not require vaccine passports, especially given places like saunas are a hotspot for transmission. Unless this policy changes, my friends and I will sadly not be returning. It is important to us that we prioritize places that are putting health and safety first.

Not so trans friendly.

My partner and I had a massage/pool experience we that we both really looking forward to. Prior to arriving for our appointment we looked up on their website what the changeroom situation was for trans folk (a common practice if you are trans). It said that because they don't have a gender neutral changing space that you could choose the bathroom/changeroom that aligns with your chosen gender (excellent!).
Upon entering the changeroom of my "chosen gender" a staff member saw me and immediately started calling at me "**not my chosen gender**" while trying to usher me urgently out of the changeroom. Embarrassingly I told the staff member of my situation and made a point that due to my transition, being in the other changeroom would make things more awkward for all parties involved. They then asked me "did the front desk say that it was okay to be in that changeroom? ", I told them "the website said I could". The staff members who was obviously flustered & stressed at this point then pointed at a curtained off corner of the changeroom and said "can you change in there? " to which I said absolutely because I just wanted the encounter to be over.
I completely understand being misgendered as it happens a lot to trans folk. The staff member obviously thought I had just accidentally walked into the wrong changeroom.but what upset me was the staff members obvious frustration/confusion on how to deal with the situation after I explained. I don't blame the staff member for my embarrassing experience but I do think the Scandinavian spa could have prevented this situation with better sensitivity training for their employees and maybe some signage. Being in whistler, so close to vancouver I would hope they would be motivated to ensure all people (encluding trans people) felt welcome and comfortable at their spa. I write this review in hopes that it finds its way to their HR department and may nudge them to address this issue in their future employee training. Overall I had a very good experience at the spa, the other staff I dealt with were lovely and the pools, although busy, were very soothing/relaxing. I just wish I didn't have an embarrassing/stress enducing experience upon entry.
09 January 2022 22:29
It uses to be wonderful, but it is a victim of its own popularity. Too crowded, often no where to sit in the pools, the customer service has gone significantly downhill and no longer feels like a premium experience.
04 January 2022 16:52
This spa was well worth it! I was there for 3.5 hours and felt so refreshed during and afterwards. They had plenty of water stations and a hot tea station as well. I was able to do some yoga in between hot spots in their yoga studio. They also had 2 outdoor firepits and an indoor one. The steamrooms are scented with eucalyptus. The saunas were perfect to lie down in especially in the rain because you could hear it ping off the tin roof. I also enjoyed the lookout area with a perfect view of the mountains with the fall colours while I swung in a hammock. I can't wait to go back.
04 January 2022 13:47
The spa itself was incredible, but the customer service was awful. Many things - telling me on the phone I could use my gift card upon arrival, then telling me I couldn't once I was there. They never sent me a confirmation email, but got the date wrong. It was an ordeal.
02 January 2022 3:05
Abolsulety horrific experience. I've been to many Scandinave Spas and never have been treated the way I was here. While I understand there are staffing shortages, a wellness spa should not have staff that are unhappy and rude to customers. The management takes sides with the staff before hearing the customer's story; even after we were told a senior manager will call us, we never recieved phone call. Instead, we recieved an email at 9pm letting us know that we were "kicked out" and "have points in our system" which is a joke because we were (1) never asked to leave, (2) never recieved a call back from any sort of management. In quite the contrary, we ended up having a lovely time despite our bad encounter with 1 unhinged staff member and stayed until closing. Recieving such an email at 9pm was really a shame and a result of poor communication between management. It's a shame this place doesn't bother to listen to the customer at all. Poor communication and not professional. In my opinion, check out other spas in the area.
17 December 2021 4:49
You can easily spend a day here and have a great digital detox. Great views when you relax and fully recommend at the end of your trip in Whistler after you do any hiking or biking in order to unwind.
14 December 2021 23:07
This was my first time back to the spa since the pandemic and it was definitely not worth the price, or the experience I remembered. A couple of the amenities were closed, which we weren't told about ahead of time. The bistro was closed, which we were banking on since we went over lunch. Apparently you are allowed to order Earl's online, but no one told us that and there are signs that literally say no outside food or drink. The area to rub salt on your body was closed (I assume due to covid) and since you have to wear a mask in the sauna and steam room, it's not like you can spend much time in there so you are basically only left with the hot baths. It was pouring rain too and you are not allowed to cancel reservations within 48 hours, so I also couldn't bring a book to read in the solarium unless I wanted it soaked outside. The women's change rooms didn't have any feminine products or standard things like Q-tips, cotton pads. The hair dryer by the toilets only produced cold air.it's just not the standard I would expect out of a spa. It truly felt like I paid $125 to sit in a bath where one of the staff was walking circles around, treating us like children patrolling people quietly whispering (not bothering anyone).
14 December 2021 9:50
Love this place so relaxing and great for just chilling out forgetting the do list plus no cell phones so refreshing
13 December 2021 12:54
Staying in Whistler? Do yourself a favour, book a room at the Fairmont, use their pools, hot tubs, and saunas, be treated like royalty, feel relaxed and pampered. They will check vaccine passports (Scandinave did not!), and the staff will actually try to ensure you have a pleasant experience vs at the Scandinave, where you pay to be followed around by the childish and unprofessional Silence Police. These people literally stalk you around the facility like you stole candy from a store! How “relaxing”. I get it, even whispering is not allowed. Literally everyone has to, at some point, try to communicate to the person/people they are with to move to the next pool, or room. But even gesturing isn’t allowed? ! Give me a break! Subpar facilities, and they’ve downgraded a lot of their offerings. The robe I was given had a broken belt loop, showers went cold after 4 or 5 min, blow dryers from the 90s blew cold air… just ridiculous. Don’t waste your time and money. Not what it used to be.
07 December 2021 16:21
Amazing spa, whether you get an incredible massage like we did, or just take advantage of the hot & cold pools, saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas.this is a must for a relaxing Whistler getaway.
06 December 2021 21:24
Great location! Always busy. They could do a better job with the waiting list management. They told us to come onsite to join the waitlist, while it was available via a website.
06 December 2021 4:48
Went here recently after skiing and the service was awful even tho the price was higher. A lot of the items In the facility was broken or closed. The water in the bathroom was ice cold and people can only get cold showers. After I reported to the front desk, people just said that it’s under maintenance and didn’t even make the attempt to inform people in the bathroom. I don’t think this is acceptable considering the amount of the service fee they charge.
30 November 2021 18:31
Beautiful! Was beyond relaxing and had the best nap ever. Remember to be quiet (it was hard for me haha).
25 November 2021 10:32
Beautiful place but definitely on the smaller side for a Nordic Spa. We wish we knew that the Bistro would be closed (because of staffing shortages) and had we known we would have packed food so that we could stay for longer. We paid about $550 for two massages and use of the waters, so it was a very expensive 3-hour excursion.
24 November 2021 14:06
I decided to propose to my girlfriend on our trip to the Scandinave Spa and it was the perfect setting. We had a great experience. The views are beautiful, the pools are relaxing and the steam room and sauna were well kept and a great experience. We will be making it a tradition to go to the Whistler Scandive Spa annually. As a tip, call ahead to take advantage of their proposal package if you're thinking of popping the question!
18 November 2021 13:45
Nice place. Great, clean pools and saunas. I had 2 issues in that you cannot bring your own robes but can rent on of theirs for $15.00. The second issue is that the massage was not good. Not every masseuse has to be an RMT but I would have expected a better trained masseuse.
11 November 2021 9:46
This was an incredible experience. Follow the instructions and go through the 3 step relaxation therapy they recommend and you will feel enlightened, relieved, relaxed, and revitalized.
11 November 2021 7:27
Went on a company outing. The hydrotherapy sessions at pool sauna and steam rooms are definitely relaxing. One can easily spend 2-3 hours feeling rejuvenated. Towels bathrobe are provided. Bring in your slippers as you have to walk up and down quite a bit.
18 October 2021 10:34
10/10 experience. It was worth every penny. After spending the day there my wife and I felt sooooo relaxed. Definitely was a highlight on our trip
13 October 2021 20:50
Would not recommend it right now. I have been there multiple times in the past but with the new COVID changes it's harder to enjoy the place without being rushed especially when you don't book the baths ahead. We got to the spa at 9: 30 am (bath opens at 10) and was still put on a waitlist. We were told that walk-in spots are available but turns out they were not. You had to book online. We weren't able to get in till 2: 00 pm. Will definitely visit again after their hours are longer and the facility is open in full swing. Just not worth it with the changes.
12 October 2021 17:35
Would give it 100 stars if I could! Most decadent and relaxing experience I’ve had in a long long time. Love the unplugged-ness and mandatory silence. And the location is amazing! PNW vibe is a cherry on top. A true luxurious spa bath dreamscape.
27 September 2021 10:11
Went with my wife for a massage. This place did not disappoint and was well worth the price. Facilities are well kept, not too overcrowded and the silence adds a welcome touch to the experience.
05 September 2021 10:41
One of the nicest spas I have been to. A stunning place overlooking the mountain range of Whistler and surroundings. If you’re looking for a day of peace, quiet and relaxation, I highly recommend coming here!
I love how much they enforce the rules and make sure that everyone is quiet

Didn’t have a massage this time, but had one last time we came in 2020 and it was pure bliss! The therapist (female) was extremely friendly, polite and the massage was perfect.
11 August 2021 4:42
I had a fantastic experience at Scandinave Spa. Some people don't like the silence rule but I really appreciated it. Along with the no devices rule, you really get to relax and disconnect from the world and just let your body heal in very aesthetically pleasing environment.
23 July 2021 18:35
Amazing way to relax and unwind, come out feeling rejuvenated. Whether you just use the pools, or opt for a massage package on top, you'll feel incredible when you leave this place
19 July 2021 15:58
Will NEVER recommend. Its unfortunate that with 44 hours notice during a record breaking extreme heat wave warning we are being charged $140.00 for not being able to travel 4 hours to make the appointment because we have to take care of loved ones and a wildfire just broke out kms from our house. Literally our first potential outing since Covid and our Anniversary, but they would not rebook or accept the cancellation and no exception given. Seriously!? This place doesn't care about its customers or client service during record breaking extreme conditions with fires breaking out everywhere, in a world wide pandemic. Very rude. Unprofessional. What a joke.
31 January 2019 1:15
Was a little taken aback by the lack of professionalism here. We were given gift cards which specifically read on the back "for baths and a massage", when we called in to book an appointment the lady on the phone told us we were booked in for a massage but if we decided to cancel last minute we would be charged 60$ each.when we arrived we were dismayed to find a handful of teenagers greeting us, and they informed us that the gift card was only good for the baths.so we had to cancel and they tried to charge us 60$ each.after we explained our situation she offered then that we buy the massage for 150$ each.we were blown away by this considering we were given gift cards and were expecting the whole thing to be free.after some deliberation she decided to wave the fee and we only got to use the baths.which were disappointing to say the least.felt to me more of an upper scale public pool.for the amount they are charging, i definitely expected more.
30 January 2019 0:17
There is construction going on which involves loud drilling and a closure of significant facilities meaning saunas and steam rooms are very busy even at quiet times

Not advertised on the website and only found out once full entrance fee had been paid.not good
28 January 2019 11:19
Great to visit during fall season. If you have health benefits it’s totally worth booking an appointment for RMT massage which gives you full access to the pools for the day. The massage was quality too.
27 January 2019 17:35
I got the serenity package and it was really great. Everything was like it was taken from a magazine. The only issue was I woke up the next day with neck pain. But I am not 100% sure if it was the spa or the beds at our lodge. Overall there was great value for the money spent and it made for a very relaxing get away. Thanks to the staff for being very accommodating!
15 January 2019 9:50
Very disappointed with this experience.

My husband and I planned a nice weekend getaway, planned around our RMT massages at the Scandinave today. We arrived 30 minutes early to our appointment only to be told that one of the RMTs was sick- only one of us was able to get a massage. I was left to sit and twiddle my thumbs for an hour and a half until my husband's massage finished and the baths opened. I realize that they cannot control when an employee calls in sick, but it is bad management to not offer another service free of charge for the massive inconvenience. We spent good money on a hotel and drove all the way to Whistler, to end with disappointment. This is our second visit here, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. They've lost two customers.
31 December 2018 0:19
One of my husband and I’s favorite spot to relax after a long day of skiing. The ambience is incredible! We haven’t found anything else like this. We live in Oregon and wish there was something like this back home. We plan to make a trip here every time we come to Whistler. Between the soaking tubs, saunas and lounge rooms, the relaxing you get is one you won’t get anywhere else.at least we haven’t found it. It can get crowded with it being so close to Whistler Village, but so worth it. Recommend bringing sandals to walk around in.
22 December 2018 7:55
This place is a little haven tucked away in the woods. I would highly recommend anyone that is looking for an escape from your everyday. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to fully immerse yourself into the experience. My husband and I spent about 5 hours here and I felt like we could've stayed longer. Don't forget to bring slippers too! Otherwise you will have to purchase them. I was a bit disappointed that you had to pay to rent robes as I thought in the past those were free of charge.
17 December 2018 11:51
80$ for unfriendly staff and not even bath robes included in the price-just didnt feel as though they treated their clients who are paying lots of money as they should. Staff and what is included should feel high class if that is what matches the price point.
15 December 2018 22:36
Bring - 1.a book or journal 2. A water bottle to fill with the nice tea that they serve 3. A light robe (or rent one for $13) If you're lucky its snowing when you're there. Book a massage and you get to use the baths for free. The cost of using the baths now make it almost worth booking the massage. The upper steam room is under Renos until early December- which sadly makes the other steam room very crowded. One sauna right now as well the other is under repair. I wish they had better food and refreshments here. Its very cafeteria style food which doesn't feel comfy and cozy like the atmosphere of the spa. I love the complementary tea and apples.
12 December 2018 20:26
The solarium place was getting fixed up so we couldn't go to that one but it was still very relaxing. They didn't give any discounts for not being able to use all their facilities due to their renovation.
11 December 2018 17:56
Not worth the price in my opinion.

Pro Tips:
1. Bring your own bath robes and save $13 each.
2. Buy the Costco gift card. You get $100 worth for $80.

It’s $79 /each to access the baths. For that price point, I was expecting a more luxurious experience.

Pros:
• Good cold baths.
• Good steam and sauna rooms.

Cons:
• The shower/change rooms are outdated and dingey.
• The solarium rooms are furnished with cheap IKEA chairs.
• No poolside service.
• Refresh for towels are only available at the front desk.
• Upstairs bistro location is awkward for lounging in bathrobes.
• Facility needs updates (creaky floorboards, worn-out wood structures)

For a similar experience, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers a $35 day pass to their Health Club (outdoor hot tubs (NO COLD BATHS THOUGH), pools, sauna, gym, pool-side service, eucalyptus steam rooms, etc.) with better service and more luxurious amenities.
07 December 2018 5:17
Went when it was raining. Was too busy. Unfortunately the upper steam room was closed. Felt like I was in an outdoor swimming pool rather than a scandinave spa setting.staff need to reinforce no talking to patrons.ruins the atmosphere. Maybe it was the time i went, but i did not feel relaxed enough there
29 November 2018 3:32
Recently went up to Whistler, and this spa, with some friends who have been going there for the past 6 years and I gotta say I'm not disappointed at all.

The different pools are spacious enough even when it got busier in the day. With the varying pools of hot and cool it made the whole experience very enjoyable and great for your health!

The relaxing spots are very well place with nice views and enough space away from the other pool and such that you don't feel crowded at all and usually enough spots for a small group to easily stay together.

The cafe is accessible from the main entrance and from a stairway that's just outside the exit to the pools and has a nice selection of healthy choices. Do keep in mind that most if not all of the items are Gluten Free and Vegetarian. Reason behind the note is because things like the cheese cakes won't taste like your typical cakes because of this.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Always a friendly face and still going strong even when there's a long line up.

My only complaint is that besides the bathrooms in the change rooms, there aren't many options besides that it seems. I might have not been seen them but the only others I saw was a single person Men/Women one near the main lobby.

In the end will definitely be coming back if our friends plan to go back to this little slice of heaven.
17 November 2018 7:01
A beautiful spa. The views are great with many options for hot/cold, saunas, pools, and comfortable seating. Definitely be aware that they politely enforce the 'no talking' rule, which can be tough for some. Personally I always bring a book and then I could happily stay all day. If they let me bring a sleeping bag I'd stay all night too. Their coffee is delicious. And, there's a great frisbee golf course next door. Also, consider (responsibly) taking advantage of recent legislation before going in for extra relaxation.
03 November 2018 5:09
I went to this spa a week ago. Save your money! It's over priced and over crowded. It was a rainy day in Whistler and I can totally understand why people would want to go to the spa. But there is zero crowd control. It's supposed to be a relaxing environment but yet you can't find a place to relax. Oh, and you can't speak. They have a no talking policy. This spa only offers massages, hot and cold pools and steams/saunas. The prices are stupidly high and if you want to pay $70 just to use the pools and saunas you won't even be getting a robe. For that you have to pay an extra $13. Sandals? Nope. A nice dining area? Nope.basically what you're coming here for is the opportunity to sit in the pools al fresco.
For me that's not enough. If you don't mind paying $190 for a 60 minute massage, help yourself!

My girlfriend and I came to visit Scandinave at the recommendation of many of our friends. After spending about 3 hours there, it wasn't hard to see why - The baths were so relaxing, and the staff there were fantastic!

We wanted to thank Hope in particular for the amazing customer service she gave. When we were having issues with a gift card we had purchased from a third party retailer, she went above and beyond to try and correct the issue for us! Although the problem was out of her hands at the end of the day, we really appreciated the time she spent working hard for us! We will definitely be back in the future!
