WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! We have been scotia bank for over 30 years and this branch is absolutely horrible, they are so ignorant, rude, and argumentative, the bank manager was yelling at a customer last time I was in there. No business should treat customers the way they do. If it wasn't such a Hassel we would 100% change banks, and that's not to say that all the branches are like this, we have dealt with some wonderful helpful people at other branches. It's just such a shame that EVERYONE at this branch gives Scotia Bank such a bad name

We have been with this bank for many years and I recently visited the branch to ask about a hold on funds that were in there. The girl at the counter asked me why I needed them which was quite shocking to me. After I asked pleasantly (I am not a rude person) if there was any way they could release some of "our" money she made every excuse possible. She then said she would talk to the manager and came back quickly with a hard no. I then asked why I can't use our overdraft and she replied that I can but our account showed zero balance available and a large amount on hold. Of course I was not able to use our overdraft. Unbelievably terrible service and attitude from this girl. We've moved our mortgage and will be moving everything else away from this bank in the very near future. Zero stars should be a choice.
** UPDATE** They have now returned one of our monthly payments when we have more than enough in our account but had no problem taking their fees of $16.95 our of our account.

This branch houses the one and ONLY Scotia ATM in West Kelowna currently, however they have begun to close their ATM vestibule earlier and earlier. First it was at midnight due to transient activity (which I understood) but then it became earlier and earlier - 10 then 9pm and now tonight at 10 minutes to 8pm, the atm vestibule is locked up tight. No one is able to get in and everyone standing outside is stunned
and confused and especially frustrated so I am certainly not the only one experiencing this. During business hours there are staff here who are wonderful but there never seem to be enough tellers on while other staff mill around and the tellers are scrambling to serve people. And now I can't even access the single Scotia ATM in westbank later than 7pm? Time to move I think. This is absolutely ludicrous.
Other banks located nearby close their vestibules at 11pm which is completely reasonable but im so tired of paying $4 every time I need cash after 7pm because I'm paying fees at an atm from a different bank. Total joke.

My fiancé and I visited your branch (2475 Dobbin Rd #29, West Kelowna, BC V4T 2E9) at 11: 30 am on July 16,2022 and requested to withdraw $12,000 in cash because we were purchasing a truck, and the seller we were purchasing the car from was offering us a discount based on the condition that we would give him the cash payment on Saturday, July 16,2022. Due to the fact that the money was available in his account and was in the bank's possession, my fiancé walked into the bank confident that they would be able to release it to him, but he was denied. When I walked in with him and asked the manager Kiana why he couldn't get his money out, she responded, "Because we couldn't operate if we gave him the money. " She answered "Yes" when I asked her whether she had the cash. When asked if there was a policy or law that would permit her to reject the transaction, she answered "no there is none. " In the case that the bank already has our money, what authority does it or this agent possess to prohibit us from receiving it back?

In addition, Kiana interrupted me while I was speaking and introduced herself as "the branch manager, " implying that I lacked the ability to speak on my fiancé's behalf even though he claimed to have given me "permission. " The way Kiana spoke to her coworkers, other customers, and even us demonstrated her lack of skills and empathy for others who are in our circumstances. The individuals who were standing behind us said, "Where are the cops when you need them, " acknowledging that Kiana had the money at her disposal but had chosen not to give it to us. When I called the corporate office, they reassured me that this wasn't typical customer service and profusely apologized after realizing our predicament. Due to our bank's failure to provide us the money that was at the bank but would not be given to us, we have now lost an agreement to purchase the truck.

Furthermore, Kiana's contacts with us as clients were unprofessional and unpleasant, which I can attest to as a psychiatric nurse. Even though she has been talking to me for a while, she has said things like "call the police, " "you are not the account owner, therefore I am not speaking to you, " "leave the bank and go somewhere else, " "get out of my bank, " and finally, "why do you need the money? " (which is absolutely none of her concerns why someone would need to receive their money from their account). Kiana's disrespectful tone and demeanour left me speechless; this is not how one should conduct themselves when providing customer care, let alone managing a bank, as she claimed. I'll be taking this subject further by reporting it to business headquarters, other authorities, and starting a number of web reviews about it. What would happen if I had an emergency and required the money? What if I needed to use this money to assist my relatives back home? I have the right to request it since your bank has it, it is in my account, and there is no policy that says otherwise after calling ahead.

The headquarters agreed with us and supported our request for damages. Since then, I've written reviews, contacted the Business Bureau, and sent emails to the complaint addresses indicated on the Scotia Bank website. I also realise that other people may have encountered comparable instances of unprofessionalism, patronizing and condescending behaviour. We will continue with our concerns as warranted because there was a clear power differential that allowed them to keep our money from us without rhyme or reason, policy, or law.

I would give them zero stars if I could.

Left a message to get an appointment booked for a business account and haven't be contacted at all. No one seems to want to answer the phone at this branch. Go elsewhere for your banking needs.

Ruthless, heartless, unprofessional, condescending. I hope the manager of this branch would be less condescending than she is. I received my Income Tax Return and it was from H&R Block. They wouldn’t clear the cheque out and I needed to pay my bills.

I hope that she would have a heart to even atleast listen actively to what her client is telling her.

If they are wanting a clientele who is close to being perfect, then I guess she would be the perfect manager.
