I don’t go to the bank very much, sometimes you have to. Last 2 times I went over the last 6 months, it was closed including yesterday, so frustrating.

Gave us online appointment with someone who was not even scheduled for work.
We reached and wait in line for 5-10 minutes and they asked us to book appointment for different date.

Tried to cancel an ongoing payment, and they had no idea how to do it. Then when I do finally cancel it I find out a week later the charges are still going through. Like come on

Very bad experience - i went there today to pick up my replacement credit card.
So the teller Hannah handed me over someone else’s credit card with same name. She never checked the address and never confirmed the id.
So when I realized that the credit card is not mine, I went back immediately to let them know that address on the letter is wrong and why is that? Is this my credit card? So this Middle Eastern guy who’s the other teller looking at me like i did some fraud or something. He told me that this is your card and you gave us wrong information about your address.
He was constantly telling me that i have 2 profiles with same SIN with same bank but two different bank accounts.
When I heard this my mind was so shocked. How could a bank misuse my SIN?

So after wasting 1 hour of mine, after showing them my ids, my phone emails etc.
Then they came upto me again and said that we gave you someone’s credit card and we have your credit card which we didn’t notice earlier. It was in the same rack.

NOW I WONDER THAT THE CHARGE SHOWED UP ON MY ACCOUNT OF 576$ WAS MADE BY BANK MISTAKE CAUSE OF THE SAME NAME PROBLEM OF TWO PERSONS.

I am really angry, disappointed. I am going to change my banking soon if they didn’t resolve my problem and help me with what I experienced today.

Terrible branch. They will send you to another branch to discuss issues with your "home branch" even when they are your home branch. Zero accountability

This past week I went to this branch 2 times. What a coincidence that Same girl helped me each time. Huge shoutout to ‘Delaney’ for offering such a great service. She was too nice. Bless you my friend, keep up the good work:)

Everytime I have come to this location the ABM's are never working and when one is working you put your card in and it only allows you to check the balance. Can't put money in or out. Horrible that the one system designed to deposit or withdraw money doesn't even work.

I had the worst experience from a bank ever at this branch. I left and cried in the parking lot because of how rude and condescending one of the tellers were. She kept cutting me off and interrupting me when I tried to ask a question, wouldn't let me talk to a higher up about my issue, said I was lucky i wasn't charged an extra fee (which is plainly incorrect, but she felt like threatening me with it for some reason) and basically told me nothing could be done. I was shocked with her behavior over the matter and was not expecting it at all for the issue I had. I'm very timid as is so it was hard for me to deal with and I almost closed down my account entirely because of how unreasonable the whole experience was. Thankfully, I went to the other bank at hillside to deal with my issue there and they were incredibly nice, understanding and resolved it immediately without any hassle. I absolutely do not recommend coming to the uptown location if you have an issue because they will do nothing about it and probably make you feel terrible afterwards.

Continuous downward spiral since i became a member no respect nothing. Have had to change branches 3 times since joining due to them closing locations and now the most recent one I’ll have to leave as well as they work half days close at 4 and closed weekends. Funny enough all the competitors banks within the block are open the days they’re closed. “Due to covid” that’s a load but we all know that.

Definitely not the greatest customer service. I used the app to deposit a cheque which worked out ok. It turned out my account has a 5 day hold. This was last thursday, now its been 5 days and it says i still have another 2 days so that means the cheque wont be cleared until monday. That's a 7 day hold not including the 4 days for the weekends. I called Scotia bank and they apparently couldn't help my situation. So I went in and they said that because they can't verify the cheque sender that they can't help. So now i am really confused about what their staff can do.

Bank teller here by the name of Suzie or Suzanna, what a horrible experience. Insanely rude and judgemental. She saw my tattoos and immediately started treating me like an inmate. 100% do not recommend going here. If you want to be judged, treated badly and belittled, go here. If you want to do some banking, go to literally anywhere else.

Had my worst customer service experience with banks here. I think the rep’s name is Catarina. You can tell how they care their clients. Just wow. Offensive and no appreciation whatsoever. Will never go to Scotia bank in future.

I have been a Scotiabank customer for 15 years. I was at the Cordova Bay branch before it closed, and received stellar customer service from the team there. However, customer service went downhill and is a bit of a mixed bag at the Uptown location. Some tellers cannot seem to count cash/coin deposits correctly (I always count beforehand) and I have to correct them, and also have a less than welcoming disposition. With that being said, there are a few tellers who are rays of sunshine and take care of all my banking needs with a smile (s/o to Caroline (?) for being one of these.)

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE PHONE SYSTEM - TERRIBLE PHONE SUPPORT SYSTEM no one ever returns your calls or emails. I have been a client for 9 years and since moving to uptown they have only gone downhill. I contacted the "online support" to make an appointment and was asked for my date of birth, client information etc.when I refused they would not give me an appointment. There is NO WAY IN HELL I am giving my information to a stranger in a phone room just to get an appointment.
I am changing banks quickly!

The branch manager does not appear to be friendly or willing to accommodate long-standing customers in any way. It is a 'one size fits all' kind of bank. Unfortunately, that philosophy does not work for the majority of customers.

My new credit card did not arrive in the mail. When I went in to the branch to sort it out- they found out it had been mailed to my old address, so cancelled the new card and had it sent to uptown. I was going away to US the next day- not only did they cancel my new card but also my old one which had not yet expired. As a result I was stuck in the US with only a debit card which worked in few stores. When I returned, they said to call the store to see if the card had arrived to pick it up. I tried but can't reach the uptown location directly, only national centre. Terrible service. I have been with Scotiabank my whole life and considering changing banks.

I have had excellent service at this bank branch. I don't have a lot of money, but they have been cheerful and helpful every time I have come in. When I went in first to set up my account, I had an especially enjoyable time talking with the young woman who was arranging all the details for me. She was efficient, intelligent, and knowledgeable about everything. The tellers have also been cheerful and efficient.

SO DISAPPOINTED! I was dealing with Scotiabank when they were on Cordova Bay for about 6 years, they were amazing. Since moving to Uptown the service has continually gone downhill. Phone calls take a week to be returned (if they are ever returned) emails are almost never returned as well. Mistakes are being made all the time. Getting in and out of Uptown is impossible. I am now shopping for a new bank. I guess they make so much money that they no longer care.

When Viveka was there it was a much better service: personalized, followed up, they even took the time to reach out and assist when I was stuck at the other side of the word and suddenly my debit/credit card decided to not work anymore. However as of 2017, any good service ceased to exist. The till manager will gladly and bluntly ignore your requests. The branch manager hided for over a week, so I had to walk over to ask them why where they ignoring my inquiries. His replied? He's been sick. Like it was his first day with internet or had not been cross trained yet on how technology works or just doesn't know what means to delegate. Filing a complain with their Office of the President just gets you some guy telling you he sees the issue, he doesn't know why it hasn't been resolved and will loop with you every other week to tell you the same. Needless to say, I left them and I am glad I did.

The only real problem I have with Scotia Bank is that they have the Absolute WORST Phone system I've ever seen. When you call a branch you can't speak to anyone because they don't have the phone system set up to direct you to the person in the actual branch. Instead you get put on HOLD and nobody ever answers. EVER. My guess is that you don't actually get re-directed to anyone and you get put into a LIMBO state in the automated phone system. Also when you call the 24 Hour banking line on a weekend and need to speak to someone a recording comes on saying "Sorry we're closed and will re-open on Monday" I mean what bank has a automated 24 Hour phone line that is only in service Monday-Friday? What a joke.
