Scotiabank seems to me that it is the best bank throughout this town. When I had opened up my account, I first opened with the T* (you know which bank it is).
Though this branch and the bank staffs here are horrible. "Avoid using tellers at this branch at all costs! " If you're going to charge fee for printing out statements, why don't you ask and tell your customer first? "Avoid at all cost for talking to the representative at this branch. I am planning on switching my main branch from now on. " Besides who goes to teller nowadays anyways. Everything is online (or the call centre).

I visited the branch in October 2022 after I got a call from a Scotiabank Account Manager. His introduction when I met him at the branch was "I usually cater to 100k+ net worth individuals, I don't know why the bank asked me to talk to you. " Rest of the conversation was was the most uncomfortable I've had in years.

The fun part is he had no Idea what my net worth was he assumed my net worth based on my accent I guess

The worst customer service possible, especially from the manager Stefanie and cashier Marco, who is supposedly a Customer Service Lead. He 'led" me straight through the door into the arms of the nearest bank, because there is no way I'd bank with the institution who hates their customers this badly. Avoid Scotia Bank and especially this branch at all costs! There are numerous banking providers nearby - TD, RBC, HSBC, Vancity and Coast Capital Savings, as well as BMO and CIBC in Lougheed Mall, just pick one and go there instead of wasting your time with Scotia Bank.

The most unprofessional bank I think I’ve ever done business with! I’ve had a visa with them for almost 10 years paying just the interest because I never been able to catch up with the payments, I make more money now but now there’s inflation, I tried to go in for a consolidation loan, they turned me down because my credit was too bad well duh, thanks for the help! I tried calling today to find out when the next payment is they try to access my account but got denied, I know I just updated my information because I was just in the branch trying to get a consolidation loan and they told me I have to now go back into the branch to unlock my account, I asked for any override because it’s not my fault my information is updated but they just hung up on me, I wasn’t even rude seating or yelling, I tried calling back someone answered didn’t say anything and just hung up on me again!

I was weary of coming here to do banking due to existing reviews, but in my 3 visits to get assistance with opening an account and depositing, I have been helped immediately, by a friendly employee, who sorted me out in minutes. The manager was nearby and she was friendly as well.

Terrible wait times. Saturday is always so busy and they only have 2 tellers helping. Don’t go to this location unless you have time to kill!

Thank you so much, Jaeyoung Kim. She made our day beginning with full of positive energies. She went way above and beyond our expectations. She helped us 100% when we (me and my fiancé) do not understand anything. She worked with more than 100% of her work ethic. She is joining, talking about our story and making us feel like true friends. Canada in general and Scotiabank, in particular, need an excellent staff like her. If you have tons of time to kill and no idea how to spend it well then this is the branch for you. I have never once received quick service here no matter what day of the week or hour of the day it is. In fact I had been here for over 20 minutes before I even started to write this review and as I finish the line has not moved at all. Simply stunning

Terrible service you have to wait forever there was an error on my account I asked him to pull up my records and he actually charged me to do so when it was their fault all along and not recommend Scotiabank it’s terrible bank unfortunately I’ll have to continue dealing with them until we can make a switch

All I needed was a letter for a visa application and after almost 30 minutes of me explaining what I needed, the branch manager wanted to charge me 70 dollars for said letter and some statements.
Furious I went to the main branch downtown Vancouver and someone printed me a letter in 5 minutes free of charge no hassle. I didn't even have to explain my previous experience at the North road branch, it was just a simple letter a basic request for people doing a visa application.
I have emailed a complaint to scotiabank.
Do not use this branch for anything important!
The front staff are friendly but the management is terrible. I've never felt more undervalued and blatantly taken advantage of.

Have been experiencing months worth of issues closing an account. Have spoken to a manager on the phone, spoken to someone in person, emailed and called numerous times and the account has not been closed. I keep getting charged interest and am NOT impressed with the costumer service.

Very poor customer service, Will NEVER EVER GO TO THIS BRANCH. I am so glad that I got to experience the unprofessional, aggressive, and dismissal attitude of this bank's staff; which is all signs of the poor poor management. I was just that close to bring our mortgage to them. Very glad we didn't. Don't bother going to them. Very rude, very angry staff, and the sad thing is that their manager is even worse. So don't bother complaining to her. Just directly call their head office if you have time.other wise don't bother.

Shame I have to low rate a Scotiabank but others have mentioned the ATM issues and wanted to add that it isn't new. Real waste of time when the whole point of an ATM is supposed to be convenience.

This location has had MAYBE one machine operable of the 2 for like the past year. Maybe longer I've lost track. I dont even bother going there anymore.

Lost count how many times I wasted seeing if maybe it works.

I have recently switched from Vancity to Scotiabank and I opened my account at this branch. I've had nothing but terrible experiences with Scotiabank.

I deposited a bank draft alongside some cash on Feb 1st. I was told by the bank teller that the draft would be on hold for 5 business days. However, $200 would be available immediately. For the next 10 days (almost 8 full business days) my ENTIRE account balance was frozen. I had no access to my cash deposit or $200 from the hold on the draft. I had to come into the branch to ask what's going on, I have zero access to my money!

The teller told me the previous teller made a mistake and fixed the issue. So I had no access to any of my money for 10 days due to a staff error.

Being a brand new customer, I'm shocked something like this is possible. I called the branch manager and told my entire situation, asking for some sort of compensation for my troubles. She told me over the phone that she would look into it and call me back today.

Needless to say, I never got a phone call back.

Is this how new customers are treated? All of my money (including cash deposits frozen) and all you can say is "whoops sorry? "

Used this branch many times so speaking from experience, teller staff is not very friendly at all. Often times very grumpy and dismissive of any humour or light hearted joking. I think the staff should take courses in being upbeat, just stood at a teller window and almost no words were exchanged. I really enjoy my banking institute on Kingsway where the staff has warm greetings and always good for a chat. Also did not get greeted at the front by staff upon entering the bank. Would rate 0 stars if I could

Came in for a bank draft with paperwork from the dealer with their company name and address. The sheet also contained some information on available warranty packages.

The teller made the bank draft out to "NAME OF COMPANY WARRANTY PACKAGES. " Seriously? Who is coming in for a bank draft on a warranty?

Worst branch ever. Don't do wire transfer here. I don't really write review but this branch should be informed to others. When you re trying to receive wire transfer from other country they hold the money until you show the senders bank statement for 3 months. Other branch doesn't even do this. Ended up wasting couple hundreds dollars.

Worst customer service ever. I had concerns that neither the teller nor the supervisor was able to assist with, so i asked if i could speak to the branch manager. They said the manager was out of the office at the moment when I could clearly see her through the glass as I was walking out. They lie to your face.

I think Scotiabank is possibly the worst banking company I have ever had to deal with. I’m not sure how you guys even have clients banking with you. I’ve tried to get a hold of a financial advisor and manager from a different location, called multiple times, left multiple voicemails, even emailed and it’s been THREE WEEKS and no one has responded back to me. I called to make an appointment at this location and when I came for my appointment the store is CLOSED! What is going on here? ! Even the customer service on the photo doesn’t provide proper information because they themselves don’t know what is going on!? ! Do not do you banking with Scotia. Absolutely terrible

I don't know what happened with the management team here but they are simply the worst. I will for sure be removing all of my services from this institution and moving everything to a different bank.

I've had banking relations with Scotiabank for 40+ years. I deposited some GST refund cheques from Federal Government. This bank put a hold on those cheques even though at time of deposit I had told them to verify that we have no holds placed on our bank account deposits. I issued some checks which bounced. They then charged me $200 + in NSF fees. When I approached them to object the Supervisor Iranian lady nearly ripped me apart with her angry answer and told me the overdraft should have been covered by 11 am. I pointed to the deposited cheques and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. This is the worst branch of Scotiabank to me.

Awful service! Would not recommend this bank to anyone who needs access to their paychecks. It's been almost 4 months of depositing my paychecks and everytime it's a fight to get them to release it so I can feed my family and pay my bills and every employee/manager has a different story. Definitely switching banks as of today! STAY AWAY

Scotiabank is really bad at service. If you call the phone#, this will direct it to the call center - i want to talk to someone at the branch, not at the call center! Then apparently the branch has a different policy than the call center. This is a bank! They should ALL have the same policy and know about it

I do not even want to give them one star, they deserve nothing. Worst service ever, seems like they do not have any link with any other department. Received a letter from FATCA (their tax dept) to verify my signature in my account, went to bank they did not bother to understand the situation. I had to go back 3 times in a single day to figure out stuff. All they had to do is to contact their FATCA dept and follow the procedures. I had to call FATCA 3 times to figure out the stuff and I am still now sure whom to ask for help. The small question lies, if I receive something form your bank they aren't you supposed to help about it or at least try to help.
The employees simply said me they cannot help.

I'm getting very fed up with this location, it seems I rarely get contacted back when I call for assistance and nothing seems to be done in the time frames they initially give me. It's a fight just to get done what I have been told would have gotten done days before.

Tried to open a joint account and passed me around 3 people, just to tell me they couldn't it after an hour. The guy kept my gf's card and we can't get it until the next day due to their hours. Stay away from this branch, lots of incompetence.

Eighteen years I was a member at Scotia Bank; a one time destination bank. Cheque holding policy is clear. Now, new associates and mangers that do not know their own policy. Quoted the policy for them. Asked them to print out the policy at the branch. Nope, even went as far to instruct me to read the policy on line after I quoted it verbatim, then guidelines. Their reasoning changed twice. Find better qualified elswhere, you won't find it here. Find a place that values your business, treats you well, and has the ability to read and understand their own policy. The results: complete failure, closed my accounts moved my business to a new bank with a great reputation and product versatility.

We had an appointment set a week in advance with their representative. After twenty minutes of waiting and hearing several times that he will come in two minutes, we left their bank for good. I can't trust a bank that can't hold their first promise to come at a set time.

Quick an efficient service. I opened a bank account and was in and out within a half hour. This includes my first deposit. Convenient location with easy access by foot, car or transit. Friendly staff and a coffee station!

To be clear, this is not a review about thisblocthis but a review on the general phone service I received when I have called. The customer service representative's have given me nother but a horrible experience. First issue I had was I was in an emergency situation at a gas station - my fault for going to a full service station, and the man on the phone from Scotia basically treated me like a was a criminal and was extemeext rude to me. I was $2 short of my gas bill due to a payment coming out of my account between the time I looked at my account and got to the gas station. I had asked to speak to his manager. Not because of him but to see if they had any other ways they could offer to help, I've dealt with them on the phone in the past for an emergency situation and they were very helpful. This man would not let me speak to anyone else.

My second issue is today while trying to dispute a couple of charges. I wasn't being rude, but I was annoyed that they couldn't help me with my one charge. I went to start talking about the second charge, and she hung up on me mid sentence. She didn't ask if there was anything else she could help me with, she just hung up. I was calm, I wasn't yelling, I had proceeded onto the next issue and she just hung up. Very unacceptable. I still need help with that second charge.
