Sea Dragon Charters

I was extremely excited for my dive charter with Sea Dragon. I travelled from Ontario to dive in British Columbia's beautiful coastal waters. Upon arrival, the shop was closed with no sign of employees. I tried to call the business, but there was obviously no answer. I waited in the parking lot for about an hour, until 9AM.

At this time it was supposed to be our scheduled departure, when Kevin, the company owner, finally arrived. He proceeded to inform me that the tour had been cancelled days prior, and would not be running. I had not been contacted whatsoever with this information, and drove almost two hours just to be turned away. I completely understand that mechanical or weather cancellations can happen. I even understand if a charter is cancelled due to lack of customers. However, the extremely poor communication and disorganization shocked me. Next time I am on the west coast, I am excited to dive with a company that is a bit more organized.

Great experience! This tour is like a hidden gem!
We went snorkeling close to seals, did kayaking and jumped into the water from the top of the boat!
We were also treated with soup and hot chocolate!
The staff were super nice and energetic!

This was a great experience and definitely worth it. I was entirely satisfied with the adventure. The crew were super friendly and enjoyable to be around.

The group size was ideal, so it wasn't overly crowded. Everyone was engrossed, whether it was swimming with seals, kayaking, paddleboarding, or jumping into the water at the end.

The snorkeling was so enjoyable that I opted for it at both locations, though you can choose from kayaking, paddleboarding, or doing them all. The opportunity to snorkel with seals was a unique experience. We saw them very close, and some seals were notably friendly, playfully swimming around our feet and swim fins.

Absolutely satisfied with this adventure, I highly recommend them.

Really lovely staff, the team at Sea Dragon Charters went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely day out on and in the water last Saturday (dive charter). I have never met a dive company who care so much about the welfare and happiness of their divers. I wasn't feeling up for the second boat dive that day so the dive master offered to go snorkeling with me instead or to do a shore dive later that day which would be less deep, or even for us to come back the next day to do the 2nd dive! We were amazed at how accommodating the dive shop was. Thank you so much for your excellent service!

Amazing Team, Great Service, Kind wonderful Owners. I had some amazing dives with Divemaster Brian. I highly recommend The Topline! They are very professional and knowledgeable about the area I support them 100%.

Loved the place. The staff are amazing, professional, helpsome and kind. They where very attentive and helpsome both for my dry suit certificate and the boat tour later. I felt totally safe and my dive instructor Victor Malhame was good and very patient with me, making it some very fun dives.
We went on the smaller boat that day, which was a little cold for December, but a nice trip with great company.

We got the entire family scuba certified. Victor was our instructor. Overall a great experience. He made us all very comfortable throughout the process. We can't wait to take our new skills out for some dives!

Had a lovely afternoon snorkeling with seals! The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. Gorgeous day for a unique adventure! I definitely recommend.

What amazing tour and fantastic team! It's an experience you just have to do in Vancouver! The highlight was having a seal posing for us from the rock sticking his tongue out as us while we sat in the water. Wouldn't change a thing and would definitely go again in a heartbeat!

SeaDragons cancelled on us two days before our wedding day and refuse to repay me for their folly. I was informed that the cancellation was due to the trip not being financially worthwhile for SeaDragons as we were the only people booked. We were left scrambling to find another provider and were informed our refund would be issued soon.

I have spent the past 7 weeks hounding them via email in order to receive my refund. I was mislead multiple times that a return was going though when it was not. Today they informed me they are no longer able to issue the refund and suggest I contact my credit card company to be reimbursed the $200.

Not only did SeaDragons add significant stress to us regarding this special day, they continue to hold my money. We have paid not only for services not rendered, but services that were cancelled BY THEM. I am amazed a small business with these dishonest and uncaring ethics can function.

Took a tour with them and it was fantastic! We couldn't see the seals since visibility was low, but even then the experience was pure bliss, and they are all so nice. They thought of everything. Highly recommend them!

Would give this a 10 star rating if I could! My friends and I had such an amazing experience on the snorkel and kayak tour! The owners/tour guides are extremely friendly and nice! They explained everything to us from getting ready before we left, to the seals as a species etc. Definitely going to recommend this to anyone who says they’re coming to Vancouver!

My boyfriend and I had such a great experience with this company! We went on the Morning Cruise and Kayak Tour and had so much fun. The scenery was gorgeous and Sea Dragon staff were so friendly, communicative, and accommodating. It was raining a bit and they provided us with warm gloves and boots to keep our hands and feet dry. We saw a ton of starfish and seals, which was super exciting. The scenery of Howe Sound itself was unbelievable. Such a great experience, we will never forget it:). Thanks so much for the great tour and service!

Had such a blast. Our instructor went above and beyond. Owners are great people and very knowledgeable. Nice little store front and charter. So many great memories and I will 100% be going back. And I drive 14 hours to go there

We had a terrific tour yesterday. We came with a friend's family and we were two ladies and four children (7,8,13 and 15). We were a little nervous at first as none of us were experienced in kayaking and there were two little ones. But thanks to our wonderful capitain/tour guide, everyone had such an amzing experience paddling through the seneric bay. The two little ones were so excited that they could paddle their own kayak! The view along the way was breathtaking and we saw lots of seals sunbathing on the bank and also sea stars on rocks. How cute! Our capitain/guide was extremely nice and experienced, and he made everyone safe and comfortable. It was an increadible experience for all of us. I would highly recommend it to everyone and we would love to come back. Thank you so much!

Even though it was a very gloomy and raining day, it was an amazing trip! We saw so many seals. It was really cold but they gave us wet suits and gloves and socks to wear to keep warm. Jude, Mathias and Kevin drove the boat out, and were our guides. They were such amazingly friendly people. Jude especially was really friendly and great to talk to.
I highly recommend booking with this company!

Wonderful crew and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Captain Kevin, Brian and Jay guided us through Howe Sound with great vibes and care. I got to snorkel and try out both kayaking and SUP, seeing seals and their pups up close (we were advised to approach as quietly as possible, and I appreciate Sea Dragon's respectful approach to nature - also the care they take in briefing their passengers on safety, including COVID-19 measures and what to expect). A bald eagle and deer also made special appearances. Highly recommended for an exciting yet low-key excursion, perfect for staycations.

One of the best charters I've been to. The boat was not full so they had more time to cater to my buddy and I. We had two dives in the HMCS Annapolis. In between dives, we were served with soup and hot chocolate.

5/5 would recommend and would definitely come back for more dives.

Wow what an incredible day! My wife and I went on the Kayak trip where you get to meet wild seals. There were so many of them! They are such funny little guys.
The boat crew was amazing! They let us kayak around and also ride a paddle board. Incredibly friendly group! They even let us jump off the top of the boat. An incredible trip that we will remember forever! Good times

This was one of the best adventure charters my family and I had ever been on, and it was because of the people. We did the 5 hour snorkel and kayak tour, which was pretty cool. We swam with seals, kayaked around 50 foot forested islands, and at the end jumped off of the boats roof into the bay! They gave us a lot of freedom, and they were super accommodating to everyone. They gave us soup, granola bars, sodas, and beers while we were boating from spot to spot. The crew was awesome, and we became friendly with everyone on the boat. Afterwards, the crew invited us out for beers at the pub across the street, and almost the whole tour joined. We ate poutine and had beers and all told stories about where we are from! I highly recommend this tour, because the food employees that work there are great people and they will ensure that you’ll have a great time.

Excellent customer service from Kevin and Alec. I was coming for two late evening and night dives and live in Chilliwack and needed to rent gear. Their shop closes at 7pm and I really didn't want to drive out the next day and spend 3 hours driving back and forth to return gear. I explained my situation and asked if there was a way to drop off late and Kevin offered to meet me at the shop for 10pm (I got there at 1020pm) and he was happy to do it. He told me he was just happy we were out there diving. Awesome people running this business. I will for sure recommend them to my friends and use them again on my next dive. Thanks again!

We loved our trip. We got to see up close at least a hundred seals. They were very curious to see us. We got to swim up very close to them. Justin was a great tour guide. We did both kayaking and snorkeling. This was a truly wonderful trip and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone who travels to Vancouver.

It’s awesome adventure and exciting experience on snorkeling in the ocean. Captain Kevin and Justin are perfect partners providing the sailing and diving services. I’m happy to make the final jump at the end. LOL Enjoyed every minute of the excitement.

My husband and I took a much needed getaway and decided to book a snorkel and kayak trip with Sea Dragon Charters.

It was our first time in Canada as well as our first time snorkeling and kayaking. We weren’t sure what to expect but were lucky enough to have great weather and be surrounded by seals swimming around us as we snorkeled.which was amazing!

Our tour guide Justin was outstanding and very informative about the area, wildlife, and how to properly put on all of your gear and navigate around the island.

He made the trip and I highly recommend this company if you come to West Vancouver. You will not be disappointed.

I am really glad I went with them for my first cold water experience and dives. As a diver, an instructor and dive operator myself, I have to give them credits. Their setup is good in term of convenient, safety and comfort. Kevin and all staffs - Alek, Justin and Brian were helpful and very considerate which I seldom find in many places nowadays. I will definitely go with them again whenever I come back to BC. Keep up the amazing work, Sea Dragon!

I never even put on a wet-suit before the tour, and they were helpful through the whole process. The tour took us through different islands to visit seal colonies and it was an amazing experience. The staff were so kind and informative and we were supplied snacks and soup in between visits. I'm vegetarian however they were still able to provide different options so I didn't need to worry about packing anything. I'd describe the water as "refreshing" because it wasn't too cold and all the gear was comfortable. We got to see a ton of seals although we didn't get too close in respect of the wildlife. The boat had enough room for all of us and during the transport time we were able to take off our wet-suits or gear if we wanted to be more comfortable.

The staff were amazing and we had such a good time with our group, I wholeheartedly enjoyed the experience and hope to come again sometime, completely worth it.

We started with a warm reception at the front desk and so much help getting comfortable in our wet suits.

The sea adventure was thrilling, Bazz explained all the protocols and was tremendously accommodating of everyone on the tour. Our group alone had 6 and not one of us felt a excluded. He watched over all 12 of us on the boat like a mother seal protecting her young (had to throw that in there)

The captain (forgive me for not remembering your name, perhaps Kevin?) was amazing, so knowledgeable and always vigilant. We had some in our group who were not the greatest swimmers but not once did we ever feel worried, so don't let that hold you back.

It was magical to see the seals swim around you so up close. They even did some flips out of the water!

All in all everyone was so laid back and I'll remember the experience for life!

I dont usually write reviews, but I was compelled to do so for this experience. This is a great company that knows how to deliver a great experience; Kevin the owner/operator and his entire staff were amazing from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a better experience all around! We had a beautiful day exploring our own city by boating in Howe sound, swimming, kayaking, SUP-ing around seals, watching eagles dive for fish and generally being surrounded by the best Vancouver has to offer! We didn't end up snorkeling as the visibility in the water isn't as good in the summer, and although they were all around us, we weren't able to feel like we were actually 'swimming' with the seals, but it was cool anyway to see them in the water near us. Kevin and team, were very attentive to the needs of our group, from those who needed a floatie to those wanting more soup! Top notch experience and highly recommend for tourists and locals alike!

Went diving with the seals last year. They did find us seals to dive with. However they gave me a 3mm wet suit in 46degree water. I was shocked by how cold it was and how much I struggled to breathe just from being so cold. The wetsuit never warmed up and my dive was done within 10min.

You are correct the others had fun. The fact that you try and redirect my problem by saying the others had fun is dismissive of my problem, like my issue doesnt matter you. I was the only one in a suit that thin however, and that was the problem. My wife was suited fine and enjoyed herself. I was not suited properly, spent a whack to go out and freeze until I couldn't take it anymore. Staff was nice but that was my worst experience in Vancouver. I wrote the review so if they do choose you they make sure they are taken care of and not left freezing on the boat while everyone else enjoys themselves. Sorry it was late. But I'm clearly that disappointed 9 months later, I don't write many reviews and you're my first negative one.
