Sealegs Kayaking Adventures

We arrived to our 2 hour wildlife tour embarrassingly late, thinking we would likely have to pay to cancel but Bud welcomed us graciously and continued the tour with kindness and humour.

We were able to see many things (seals, starfish, birds) and it was very cool to hear Bud's personal knowledge of the history of Ladysmith and his many stories of working in and around the sea.

The kayaks we were given were in excellent condition and it was also great to receive complimentary water shoes for the tour. Bud and his wife Sheryll are incredibly kind and knowledgeable people, it is a no-brainer to choose to support them in their business!

We rented sit-on kayaks and loved it! The staff were easy-going, helpful and kind. We had a great time paddling on the ocean and we were not overwhelmed by crowds of people, which can be the case in some Vancouver Island places.

100% recommend! The staff are so friendly, helpful, and professional! We rented a beautiful double sea kayak and explored around the bay. We saw two otters fishing, lots of seals popping up for air, kingfishers working the islands, herons hanging out on the logs, and purple martins (swallows) in their special houses along the docks. There is so much to see at both low tide (our last trip) and high tide (these pictures). Do it! Get a boat here! You won't regret it!

We stopped to rent multiple kayaks to help in making a decision to purchase. Bud, the owner, went above and beyond to guide, teach, and advise on which kayak was best for me. Half-way through the experience we learned Sealegs was a Delta dealership. We already had one Delta 15.5. Sealegs was the only place on Vancouver Island that had any in stock. No pressure. We returned the next morning. Bud opened up just for us. Briefed us on the boat and provided more direction on properly securing it to the car. Fabulous experience.

A great place to go kayaking and paddle boarding. Set in the beautiful Transfer Beach, Ladysmith, BC. The staff are awesome. So wether your experienced or a beginner, they will accommodate your needs.
