Dr Julie Baxter, untrue worthy lier, vindictive, crude- Dr Baxter wrote back to Dr. Dommann and advised him that your driving was restricted based on other diagnoses.

Arrived for a family getaway and immediately had to check into ER with extreme pain. Doctor, nurses, (even admin) were awesome. Thank you all, for reference my visit began shortly after midnight on Jan 13th. Doctor especially was very patient and informative providing me with the range of options available and detailed knowledge of my condition I didn't know. Might have been Dr. Bauer? Regardless thank you to the staff who helped me that night, and the following night as well.

I'm a bit surprised seeing the range of reviews, but understand given then range of staff, and different dynamics of triage viewed through the lens of pain/illness. Am happy to be able to add to the satisfied pile of experiences.

The kindness, respect and compassion and professionalism I received today from the second I walked into ER to the minute I left was unheard of! Each and every individual that assisted me -from admissions, X-ray, residents, nursing staff, custodian to DR. Went above and beyond!
What an incredible team!

Recently had a work place accident. The er nurses got me through right away and within a couple hours I was sent off to Vancouver for emergency eye surgery. I would like to thank everyone from the nurses, the ppl in imaging and the great eye care specialist who got me in touch with a surgeon in Vancouver. You guys all work so hard and deserve way more praise than you get. From the bottom of my heart thank you.

It sounds like people have had very varied experiences at Sechelt Hospital, I arrived by ambulance around 1am in the worst pain of my life, barely conscious, and was put in a corner in a wheelchair where I screamed from the pain for 3.5 hours with no attention (beyond tylenol which did nothing). I had been there the day before and waited 7 hours to see a dr who misdiagnosed me. I don’t know if it was understaffed because it was the middle of the night, or maybe medical misogyny? Honestly it would be quicker to take the ferry and go to a hospital in vancouver.

I arrived in the middle of the night with excruciating back pain. (Turns out I had a kidney stone)

The entire experience was amazing. Every nurse and doctor was extremely accommodating and caring. It felt very organic and human and I am very happy with the care I received. It turned something very scary into something where I felt like I just needed to get through it and I was in good hands.

In the time I spent there. Things got a bit busy but as things got busier their level of care and compassion didnt waiver.

I cant say enough good things! Thank you to all the staff over there. Its comforting to know that such good care exists on the coast!

As a woman seeking support with very sensitive subject matter, I’m deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion showed by every nurse and the doctor who treated me. Everyone made me feel very safe, supported and looked after.

Yes, the wait was long- but I don’t feel that should overshadow the attentive care that the staff demonstrated.

Really arrogant and dismissive. Pushing injections and then ignoring your issue for refusing them. As expected, but still plenty disappointing. All around useless cog in the medical system.

In response to your response: No thanks, the last time we talked to your administrative staff they basically said they wouldn’t care for our elderly mother they wanted to euthanize because she had dementia and a stroke and wasn’t worth your time and dollars. We didn’t agree and yet you still starved her to death, not giving her a feeding tube and then failing to treat her, delaying her transport to another hospital until she died on the helicopter. God will repay you.

I had a great experience when I went in. The nurses and doctors were very kind and compassionate. They didn’t judge me when I talked about my mental health. I feel confident in that if I’m ever having issues again, I can come back and receive good quality care. I also think I lucked out a bit since the emergency room was fairly empty.

I came to emerg with chest pains, my doctor let them know I was coming. Within minutes I was in and tests done, blood taken. There were only 2 nurses my night in emerg & they were excellent even though understaffed & no breaks. All nurses & doctors were kind & so thorough as I was admitted to critical care for 3 days & treated exceptionally well. So grateful during a scary & uncertain time

All the staff who are working in the ER they are the angels of mercy. I got the best care. They so kind. I really have not had a good medical care like this before in any other hospitals in Canda. I been to 4-5 hospitals for the last year and this one is the best by far. I can not find enough works to thank them for everything they did for me.

The most unprofessional service (emergency department). You can blead out in front of them and they won't help you. VERY VERY VERY RUDE front dest!
Absolutely disappointed!

I have had nothing but very positive experiences at Sechelt Hospital. One of my family members has been there for an extended period and the care and treatment has been very impressive. The nurses, administrative staff and support staff are consistently very good, helpful and caring. I have visited many times and always find that my family member is being well taken care of. I’m impressed enough that I am making a donation to the Hospital foundation. Thanks so much to all the staff!

Being busy does not mean the staff can be Disrespectful to people.

We all are busy with our lives!

NO NOT trust a doctor or nurse at this hospital! They know they can write anything on any medical record and get away with it! They've done it to me and I fought it to the end with The College of Doctor's and Surgeon's just wiping their butts! Just beware of every doctor and nurse! Piss one off and they will beat you and send you home severely bruised! I was!

Good people doing the bestwith what they can. It's not our doctors fault Canadian health care is underfunded, but the nurses and doctors here try to help when they can.

I've been in numerous times for extreme dental pain and they've been attentive and helpful each time so far.
25 January 2021 7:28
So bad, been there 10 times looking for psychological help. Failed every time forgot about my appointment with them. Waited 5 hours for nothing every single time. Like it’s dead in there what could the doctors possibly be doing. They never call me back, if I could I would give it zero stars. They suck
19 January 2021 18:54
Small and unequipped hospital. Under funded and long wait times. Doctors are clueless and out of touch. Bless there heart for wanting a pay-cheque, but health isn't a grocery store line up, trying to rush through as many customers as possible. More like slowly and poorly rushing through the few patients they get around to see. Good luck calling the non-emergency number for help or knowledge of health services other than the hospital hours or directory. They're not equipped to handle hundreds of COVID-19 cases, let alone the people that already live on the coast,

I get racially profiled, singled out and discriminated against at this hospital. MULTIPLE SEPARATE VISITS I get the same treatment.

Had to take my mother to emergency on her 84th birthday. It's so traumatic, sad & harsh to be in hospital during the Covid lockdown. The nurses are AMAZING. I asked if maybe someone could share a video of special opera music with my Mom b/c of Father's Day- she's really missing my late father. Mom just called me in happy tears. I can't thank the nurses enough for their amazing kindness. Bravo!
