After researching companies online our family decided to entrust Dave at Sempix with our priceless family memories that's been on Super 8's stored away in a closet for almost 40 years.

Dave was professional and reassuring. He was very understanding of how valuable our old videos are which helped set our mind at ease when we handed them over. Childhood memories on a few reels in a big ziplock bag. We held our breath of course, but it all went well!

The work was as estimated, on time and there were no issues at all. My Dad praised the service and the convenience of Dave coming to pick up the reels and then returning them at our home when they were ready, safe and sound.

Playing these for my family tonight brought them to tears remembering moments they had all forgotten. The quality of these memories are wonderfully nostalgic, the audio is crisp and impressive. We are so grateful for these preserved memories that we have not seen in 40 years and can now comfortably save forever.

Sempix is fantastic! They took such good care of my family’s precious photos, videos and film footage and I can honestly say that without their impeccable and efficient service, my mom’s celebration of life would not have been as impactful as it was. A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes. The owner of Sempix personally picked up the media and hand delivered it back to my house, along with thumb drives containing all the media transfers. I can’t recommend these guys enough.

Dave and Sempix did a great job cleaning up a photo of mine from 1991 so that it’s well preserved. They gave me a few different formats that I didn’t even know were possible.
Dave even went out of his way to bring me my photo when I couldn’t make it to his office! Super nice guy as well!

If you’re in the Vancouver area and need to transfer some old film reels - Dave’s your guy. He picked up the reels from my house and returned them a few weeks later, along with a USB drive loaded with the content.

I recently had many old family photographs scanned and catalogued through Sempix, and the process extremely easy and seamless. Sempix was very responsive, completed the job quickly, and everything turned out exactly how we envisioned. I would highly recommend working with them.

My father recently died at the great old age of 94 and my siblings and I were taking him back to Quebec to his final resting place. As we were all going to be together, I opened the box of unpreserved old photos and 8mm films dating back to the early 50’s.
I called Sempix and David said he could help and would be happy to try and put all our memories on a jump stick and make one for each of us 5 kids and our mother.
I never thought it would turn out so well. My mum, (92) has them on her IPad now, and each evening scrolls through. She loves it when one of us is in the room so she can tell us the story or the date that goes with the picture.
I can’t thank Sempix enough, particularly David, who is so professional, yet incredibly kind and helpful. I would recommend Sempix to anyone who would like to preserve memories.

Poor service, good work. Sent in my tapes, no reply of receipt, had to email a few times to check if they were received, then no response to my inquiries if they were ready, when they were finally ready (2 months) I twice sent couriers to pick up the hard copies with no one at the office as agreed. I was told I would be reimbursed for the courier. No refund received nor response to further emails.

As a professional archivist that works in the preservation industry I can confirm that Sempix follows good practice and delivers high quality scanning outputs. They did a great job with my own collection of hard-copy family photos. The customer service and project management communication was excellent. I would recommend them for both professional and private digitization assignments.

I could not have been happier with the service I received from Sempix! Dave was prompt, professional, and kind. I wanted to get all my photos scanned but was in the middle of a big move and forgot all about it until it was too late. Or so I thought…I called Sempix thinking there was no way they would be able to finish them in time but Dave came to the rescue and had everyone done and delivered to my door with time to spare. Such a great company! I would highly recommend.

Changing my initial review. Dave called personally to apologize. Turns out the work was done and all of my media was safe. I am very happy with the final results and have all of my photos ad video digitized. I will use their services again. Thank you Sempix.

Initial review from April: I provided my photos and a videotape to be edited back in September 2022. It's now April 2023 and with several follow-ups, I've heard nothing back and am not able to recover precious family photos and a video tape. I'm terribly disappointed as those items were priceless to me.

Good scanning but poor service. Although I was routinely promised prompt services, it took several months to obtain the e-files. Conversely, I always felt pressured to make quick decisions relating to orders and quotations. Emails and texts were sometimes not responded to. In summary, if you are not in a rush and don't mind broken promises, but desire quality scanning, this would be a good option for you.

Dave and his team at Sempix provide such a valuable service. We're so happy we engaged with them to scan all physical images and videos we had taking up space in our storage. Scans are great, Dave's professionalism and empathy is top notch, and the price is reasonable. Highly recommend!
