I went there to submit my passport application. I got there around 7: 45 and there were around 6 people already lined up! I recommend getting there BEFORE 8: 00, as the line rapidly grew. Overall experience was mediocre, the application process took around 20mins

This was one of the Best Experiences I ever had dealing with a government agency!
Please try to come in as early as possible as you can definitely expect a queue. I reached there early but still there were around 10 people ahead of me.the highlight of the office is the really helpful lady in the reception area, who doesn't want you wasting all your time in the queue and would come up to the queue many times and would ask if any has any doubts about the services they need. I requested and immediately received all the information i needed and proceeded to the workstation there to do it by myself, she continued to come around to all of us and made sure that the task is done.for the life of me i can't remember her name, i believe it was Melanie, thank you Melanie you are doing exceptional work.

Yesterday (March 23rd, 2023) I had to go to Service Canada to have a passport application submitted. I got there at 6: 30am, which was a little excessive but I was first in line. As soon as the doors opened at 9: 00am we were allowed in and I was called to a booth immediately. Big shout out to Linda, she was very helpful and even caught a mistake I had made. I was out of there by 8: 30am! If you wanna show up when they open, do not complain about the wait time. You could get away with 7-7: 30 but after that, you WILL be middle/back of the morning line.

You have to wait for hours in the cold weather to just enter the building before you get into the second line inside… thats how slow they are.

Lined up twice for passport applications. First attempt made at 2: 45pm but failed to make it to the counters before office closure at 4pm. Second attempt made at 8: 20am when there were about 20 persons already in the line ahead. Took one hour and half to get to my turn. Application verification plus data entry took another 30 mins. Limited street pay parking on Glen.

Worst waiting experience of all time. Over four hours and counting. Failing bureaucracy at its finest. The Canadian government is bad at its only job.maintaining efficient services for the people of Canada. Everyone should be fired and replaced with competent people at this location (and maybe all of them). You are all failures at your jobs.

I arrived roughly around, or maybe just shortly before noon on a Wednesday. From the sound of things, the day prior was very busy, but I had to wait for about an hour total to get my passport application sorted out from start to finish. The security at the front was very friendly in greeting people, and the agent who actually handed my case was quite quick, and suggested a few edits to my application to prevent rejection and to smooth things over.

Walked in around 12pm.there's already a huge line ahead. Staffs at the front were friendly and the female officer who helped me were nice too. Waited around 1hr 40 mins though but got my SIN updated. Appreciate it to the staffs as they are super busy dealing cases everyday.

Ridiculous line ups all the time, like we are living in some war-torn country. Federal Government, common.

And they said get here early, I did!
Update… 2.5 hours later still waiting… 6 booths available only 3 employees manning them.

Jan 18: Went to Service Canada by 10am on a rainy Wednesday after being unable to get an appointment online. Used the HangTag app to park in the underground lot. No line up outside. The gentleman on the door, ushered us to the left side waiting area where we sat for about ½ hour. Then we were moved to a line where we stood for another ½ hour before getting to the check-in wicket. Armin looked over our applications and ushered us to the 2nd waiting area. After about 15 minutes we were called to a cubicle where Raman input our info and charged us $160 each for the 10 year passports. She took about 30 minutes to process both our renewals. She said the new passports would be mailed on Feb 15 from Mississauga and we could expect them via registered mail by Feb. 22 or 23. We were all done in about an hour and 45 minutes. We were very happy with the efficient and friendly service we received and thankful that all was done much faster than we expected.) Update: I received my passport Feb 10!

Went today for a passport application with my husband (not urgent, so if you are in a hurry you need to go to a Passport Office instead). Got there at 8 am and we had around 16 people in front of us. Bear in mind this office is a Service Canada office so it has multiple processes but all are formed in a single line. Office opened at 8: 30 am and we were ushered in to line up and overflow would line up in a seated row. The guards are facilitating the process and will let you know when you can move up the line. The process is a little confusing, but if you are there with any other family members, they will ask one person to make the line (in the seated area) while the rest will be escorted to another seated area. The person who remains in the line follows through the line until you reach the end of it. At that time your family members can join you. That process took around one hour. Then you go to a primary inspection where a person verifies your documents and ID and enters you in their system. Make sure you are ready beforehand with all your documents properly filled out to avoid more waiting time. You are then asked to take a seat in this other area until a person calls your name into the booth. We waited like 10 minutes until we were called to a booth. The person handling your document will also check everything and enter you in their system. This took roughly another 40 min. We were told the process to get our passports is taking around 6 weeks. The people in this office are helpful.

I will share my recent experience so anyone reading can prepare before coming.

I arrived at the office around 6: 35 am and was the first in the lineup for passport applications (no appointment needed) for a family of 4 (they only require the adult applicants to be present, no children are required).

They open at 8: 30 am sharp, by that time there were more than 15 people outside. Once you are in the take you in right away.

The lady that processed our application was amazing, kind and knowledgeable. The whole process for the 4 of us took around 45 minutes, given that our applications were completed and were not missing any documents.

I recommend this office location 100%.

My experience there was 5 stars on Jan 04,2023. I joined the queue around 7.30 am and was standing in 8th place and the line was extended may be up to 25 to 30 people by the time the office opened up. The security office came out sharply at 8.30 with a greeting and prioritized senior citizens and others were also allowed to get in slowly. Both I and my wife were able to get our SIN within 30 minutes time and the officers who helped us were really nice, they explained everything very clearly making sure everything is up to the mark without a single mistake.

When I visited for passport renewal on Jan 26th, there was a security guy who was extremely rude to me, I didn't hear him tell me to sit near someone, so I sat randomly.
The guy is tall and Indian, and he said I told her to sit there already. He was very loud and shouting, and I asked him if he could say it again instead of shouting.

As on Jan 11 2023. It took me 4 hours to get a passport application submited. I came at 11: 30 and got done at 3: 30. I was very hungry. There is a lineup outside, that took about 1 hour. Then there are 2 sections of line. Each one is another a hour. Plan your time.
They close at 4, if you do not make it before 4, you basically waste all your waiting hours.

Got to this Service Canada location at 8: 10am to apply for a new adult passport, and there was already a line of around 12+ people. If you want your visit to go smoother and just be a lot easier, book an appointment online! As soon as they opened, they asked if anyone had an appointment for 8: 30am and I was able to get inside first due to my booked time, even though I was further down the wait line! Super nice staff and very quick, efficient service. I was out of there by 9: 00am! Edit: I forgot to mention, the lady who went over my passport application also told me that its estimated shipping date would be roughly 17 weeks away or some time in February. My appointment was in the first week of October, and I received my passport in the mail in the first week of November!

Hoping that i never have to visit again. So much waiting and shortage of staff. Been here for almost 4 hours n I'm still waiting

They deserve 0 stars for their service. The worst service I had in Canada in my 20 years living here.
Employee that processed my application was rude, bossy, incredible slow and above all unhappy. Would be nice if they remember that they are providing customer service, and that these customers are the reason they have a job and being payed for.
So many people waiting outside in all weather conditions deserve them coming out and apologise for such an unorganised service if not offering old and pregnant people chair to sit for hours.sad sad place to be.

3 people working and a line inside and out! Seriously! This system is so broken! Make a line for seniors and disabled! My mom is a senior and can't stand in the heat for 5 hours! Seriously my mom needs a print out of benefits! It would take 5 min!

To add to my review! At 3: 20 today, the security came out and told everyone no one else was getting in. The senior man at the very front left and the man behind him had been waiting for 3 hours! He was getting turned away and he became upset which was understandable and security let him in and then something happened in there. He was upset and inside. Then he suddenly collapsed to the ground and had what appeared to be a major seizure!
Shame shame shame on you government! Shame on you Service Canada! This is disgusting treatment to people with disabilities and seniors!
It is 33 degrees outside! There is no compassion! There is no organization! There is no separate line for Passports vs elderly needing assistance with OAS or CPP! Make a line for seniors and disabled! Let them wait inside! And make sure your security know first aid!

There is 6 station and i can see two employees working with other 4 avoiding work for a very long time. Pathetic. They even stopped taking ppl in around 2pm when the closing time is 4pm. Waste of tax.

Extremely long wait just to get a certified photocopy of passport.lack of staff for sure.only one or two clerks are helping the whole city, kidding?

Very terrible service …. Hours of wait …short staffed abd they are really really rude …. Don’t try to accommodate you in any way even if u waits hours

Slowest office that I've been to. It takes you an hour to wait for your SIN #. Try your best to do everything online!

Armin was wonderful, efficient, friendly, and willing to stay a bit past closing time to help me!
