Very unfriendly. Everything about her was rude, from her expression to her tone of voice. She makes me feel bad all day. I don't want to revisit.

If you're not good at English here, each and every employee is unfriendly, so just go somewhere else. Of course, even if you do a good job, they're still unfriendly. I got it from the person at the 8th counter, and I was so sad that I cried as soon as I came out. He has a knack for making people feel really bad. I want to write down everything he did, but I can't because I'm afraid it will come to mind while I'm writing it. As soon as I enter the country, I sing a foot song.

The Asian female check in staff was rude and condescending to us. We tried to explain our reason for the visit (Note I was very patient and polite to her). She didn’t understand what I said and had the audacity to get mad us and say we didn’t understand her question. We had to explain 3 TIMES before she finally understood. Time of visit was 10AM on Wednesday, Nov 1. Please do something about this.

Eight booths open for processing and three employees. This place is worthless. Does anyone work here, or is it a ruse to arbitrarily delay the processing time of federal paperwork?

This location takes forever. Waited over 2 hours. Went at 12pm and seems like all the processor takes lunch at the same time 1pm, so everyone who need service is just waiting until they are done.

Ridiculous. Came few minutes after opening and had to wait more than 2 hours! Waiting room absolutely full and only 1-2 booth working. People being called randomly, so a lot of them will go in front of you even when they checked in a long time after you.

Impossible for on-line appointment, walk-in before 1pm and herd no guarantee for service today. They have 8 booths but only 3 workers are actually working. Where all my taxes go?

Worst customer service what have i seen in my life. Minimal effort by the employee to help the customer, with minimal empathy. Waiting for any little thing seems like an eternity. The only advantage is public wifi in the waiting room.

Super busy place. Ideally do everything online or even via phone rather than coming here. If you must come in person, make an appointment ahead of time.

Parking is paid $5 per hour. But you actually get charged $6.50.

There are 8 counters, but only 3 counters are available, and waiting time is more than 3 hours. Get ready to pay for the parking fee for 3 hours.

The people working here didn't seem to know how to help us properly. We had a problem with our SIN info, which the federal government should handle. The first staff we talked to didn't really understand our problem and gave us the wrong information. We couldn't book an appointment online for our issue, and made calls to their toll-free number for days, but we haven't been able to reach any service agents.

So no other choice, we went back the next day, and another staff there confirmed in a loud peach voice tone at us, saying we were in the "wrong place". Lined up people around looked at us, and it was embarrassing. She told us to go to Service BC, which was a 7-10 minute drive away. But when we got there, the staff said it's actually Service Canada's job because it's about the federal government.
We wasted two days to get supported by uninformed or unexperienced staffs.

Service Canada should consider employing more competent staff members who are well-versed in their roles and can communicate respectfully in English. It's important for them to understand how to assist residents in the community.

My appointment was 10am, I parked at 10: 06am, and my check-in was completed around 10: 20am. I left Service Canada at 10: 46am. The total visit was around 40 mins. Quick, friendly and attentive.
The agent said my passport will be arrived in one month-ish.

The young man working here is so rude. I was not sure if I will receive a physical card since I got my U. S.ssn card by mail and I also heard my friend said sin card will be mailed. The guy talk in a way that I should not come again to confirm if I need to update my airbnb address to a permanent address.

Applied for a child passport on a Tuesday morning. Got to the office around 815 AM. I was out by 9: 07 AM. Very quick service. Only had about 6 people ahead of me in line.

Everyone who helped me were lovely and patient! If you expect to wait a while, you won’t be disappointed, although I didn’t wait for more than 45 minutes and it wasn’t very busy when I came in:)

People are polite and helpful, but you need to wait around 4 hours to solve your problem.
It's always like that, and the government doesn't hire more employees.

I arrived on a Thursday, June 15th, at 1 pm to renew my passport without an appointment, and I walked out at 2 pm.
I received my passport 12 days later.
Staff was friendly and professional.
I am rating my experience, of course.

We are working professional, got out our time to renew our SIN. The guy at front desk took so much of time basically wasted too much time. We took our kids to get it done for them as well, and customer executive started suggesting do online. Anyways they refused, due to excuse of time.had very bad experience overall, very poor service and bias. The front desk guy and customer executive both seems to me racist in this case.

Came here today (friday) for my passport renewal. Was here at 7: 15am, and I was the only person. Next party came around5-10mins after. By 7: 45-8: 00am, there was probably about 10-15ppl. By opening time, there was probably 20-30ppl.

I was in by 8: 30, out by 8: 50

Came on a Wednesday morning for a passport renewal. Arrived just before 8am and there were 10 people ahead of me. There were around 25 people in line when security opened the doors at 8: 20am. You're let into the building and a screener (who has serious bouncer vibes) reviews to make sure you have the proper paperwork. The screener took 20 mins to review the 10 people ahead of me. I sat down around 8: 40 to wait for one of the 6-8 service staff to call you. I was called up around 9am. The passport renewal itself was quick and the staff was friendly. I was out by 9: 20am. Turnaround time including shipping right now for a regular passport renewal is 5 weeks. The visitor parking lot fits ~15 cars, but it never filled up while I was there. Parking fee is ~$6/hour.

Edit: submitted renewal on May 31. Received passport in mail June 12.

Wanted to write a review so that people have updated expectations for this Passport Office. I arrived as a walk-in with no appointment.

I got there at 7: 40am to line up outside the office. There was about 10 people in line ahead of me but by the time the building opened at 8: 30, there were about 20 people in line behind me so definitely try to arrive early if you don't want to be stuck behind a ton of people.

As soon as it hit 8: 30, the line began to move as they allowed us into the building. From there, we (those of us who were walk-ins) were called one by one up to a greeter who would check your paperwork and direct you to a different seating area. It took about 20-25 mins for me to reach the greeter and get put in the new waiting area.

After that, I waited less than 5 mins to be called up by one of the desk clerks (side note: I counted at least 4 clerks working, which contrasts most reviews on here which claim there's only ever 2)
I was out of the building by 9: 15 and was told I should recieve my new passport in the mail within 5 weeks.

Seems like the office has fixed most of the issues that previous reviews brought up and my tip to anyone going to this centre is arrive early.

UPDATE: Just received my new passport in the mail, only took 9 days to receive

Arrived 12: 30pm on a Wednesday in May 2023 for a passport application. Sign on the door saying "no more walk-ins"

Can't book appointments online - nothing available for months of checking.

Despite the hours being until 4pm, and the official Canada website saying anyone arriving will be seen that day, the policy at this location appears to be to close early.

I can’t book an appointment from e-servicecanada. That is why went there at 7 am and finished passport processing at 9 am. Employees are friendly and professional. Here are some tips for people who are planning to come early, 1. Wear warm clothes or rain gear and bring your chair. There is no shelter for line up people outside. 2. Filled your application form at home and print it out first. 3. Parking is expensive and limited.
