Today I come at 8: 50. At 9: 50 out with required document. Was around 7-8 people in front of me. As for me it’s quite fast

I came at 15: 40 and a lady stopped me and said it was too late. She didn't ask me what she could do for me, but she repeatedly told me it was too late today! Excuse me? What do you mean? There are still 20 minutes to close, okay? ?

Honestly, service Canada needs a upgrade, maybe hire more people and get more desks put in? The wait time is ridiculous.

I don't know why the reviews on here aren't great but here's my experience:

I had to get a new passport so I arrived at 7.30am and was 2nd in line. At around 8am they opened the doors and asked us to sit inside on the 2nd floor. By that time there were quite a few people behind me.

By 8.15am they started checking everyone's applications whether they were complete and then we were called upstairs to the 3rd floor. They checked everything again, I paid and they gave me a slip telling me my passport will be delivered in a couple weeks and comfirmed delivery address. And THAT'S ALL.

Everyone was super nice and the instructions were very clear. I was out by 8.45am. Kudos to everyone for doing a great job at this centre!

Tip: If you don't want to wait, better come early and queue outside. Otherwise you'll be here for longer.

If I can give no star, I would have given 0 star! Worst place ever in Canada, horrible stuff! Literally a joke, how dare they call themselves service Canada, provides absolutely no help, such a joke!

Reading some of the reviews I was worried but I also know that last summer things were backed up so I wasn’t sure how accurate the reviews would be today. Happy to report that I had a great experience and the passport officers were nice. I showed up at 12pm and left well before 3pm. They event offered us water bottles while we waited! As well, I made friendly convo with others in line to get our passports & other documents. Time flew by! They were super efficient but expect about a 2-3 hour wait or more depending on how many people are in front of you.

I was impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of all the staff. Understandably it is a busy office, but everyone was friendly and courteous.

Based on the advice in the reviews, I arrived at 7: 30 and was 23rd in line. The building was open so we all got a seat inside to stay out of the cold. While waiting, staff checked that everyone had completed and correct applications and provided information about processing times - 10 business days at time of writing. If the forms were not accurate, the staff did their best to advise on how to correct the forms and offered to accommodate people as best they could the same day.

I was done by 9: 30, which I thought impressive considering they only officially opened at 8: 30.

My advice is to go early if you can and be prepared for at least a couple hours wait. Take something to drink, a book to read or enjoy some friendly chitchat with your neighbours.

No free parking at this location. DO NOT park in the strip mall next door as someone is staking out the lot and watching for people parking there and will issue you a $86 ticket the moment you walk off the lot.

Passport processing took 6 hrs from line up downstairs to end. Employees are grumpy and rude. Pre-screening female employee didn't even want to hear reason why I want a rush passport. The final female employee is as rude. I greeted her and didn't respond then walked away without saying anything. Found out she went to get some forms. I asked for rush processing and she got it approved by her superior. I was asking her about details of picking up passport, she was very unwelcoming. She rolled up her eyes many times. I was just asking what time should I pickup passport in Vancouver. The staff work very slowly and are complaining about having to do overtime. A lot of people would like to work in government but it's just so hard to get in. I was thinking maybe they screened the best people to work with them. Well, with that kind of service, I don't think they are the best.

Tried to get my passport renewed today, workers at this Service Canada and they are clearly one of the most rude and unprofessional. I was there from 12: 00 to 3: 00 and was unable to get serviced, they did tell us it would take us several hours and to wait. However, around the 3: 00 pm mark, someone came down and told us that they would only service 5-10 more people and the rest of us would have to go back home (there was 20 people still in line). They did not even have the courtesy to tell us before hand or even provide any good service. Be cautious if you come here. Come early in the morning and be expect to meet workers with very bad manners

Waited 2 hours in the rain
1 hour in the lobby
1 hour in another room
And I’m currently on hour 2 in the main office.
There are zero employees working behind the counter at the moment which means the line will never move.

I was visit here, two days ago.i worry about the long wait, but all workers very helpfull.

Couldnt get an online appointment at all the service canada lotions. Showed up at 1130am on a friday and the rep told me likely i wont be able to get in before 4pm. She asked for my travel date and its not til Feb. She asked if i wanted an appointment for Nov and i was thrilled because i didnt want to wait in line with my 2 month old. Thank you service canada! You made my day!

The reason for long lineups is because there is only one desk working. The incompetence of the office management is staggering. The staff themselves are great.

Was here to get my SIN number.
1. Arrived at 11.30 ish and was in Queue for approximately 4 hours.
2. Once you are inside and when tour turn comes they will handover a coupon, you will need to go to 3rd floor and again wait for your turn.
3. They call you once and check your credentials and then give you a slip to input your personal details.
4. Again you will need to wait for 30 minutes approximately and then they will call you again and give your SIN number.

The staff were all very helpful, for new immigrants ensure you have your COPR copy, passport bith new and old (if relevant).

For those trying to get SIN I suggest you go in early by 8.30ish, you will be able to come out by noon.ensure you carry some snacks and water since wait in queue is minimum 2 hours and max 4 ~5 hours.
For those looking for passport services better book and appointment rather than walk in as the queue is very long.

I was told by one of the staff standing outside of the building to move to the very back of the line for no reason. I had been waiting in line like everyone else since 7: 30am and was told to move back to the back of the line as I reached the front doors, so another staff can ask me questions about my passport application and urgency.

The service is good, everyone are so friendly and kind there. They give us a bottle of water during waiting time.

The longest lineup I ever been experienced in my entire life, came here at 8: 30 and been waiting outside for almost 3 hours and another 2 hours in the building, 3 people working in the building in weekdays, wondering who’s taxes pay for their wages. Come on service Canada, not on the day when queen past away!

Went there for my SIN around 12PM and was out in about 25 to 30 minutes max.

Really friendly and helpful customer service. The line outside is for the passport office, if your business is not related to that there will be people outside talking with the people in line, tell them what you're here for and if you should enter the line, if its not required they will let you in without having to wait in line.

After reading the other reviews I kind of got scared in a way that I would have to wait too long but that was not true overall everything was really nice and fast.

Got in line at 7: 45am with no appointment and finished after 5hrs (as expected) but was pleasantly surprised with how nice and accommodating all the employees were.also made sure we were all well hydrated and shaded from the sun by constantly offering us water and umbrellas, much appreciated!:)

Go to another Service Centre such us in Burnaby, Surrey or even Vancouver. I spent a entire work day lining up here trying to get a passport and SIN number and was not even able to be helped or to see an agent. This is disrespectful.

Hours of service are 8: 30 to 4, the service is extremely slow, don't waste your time in here, even you line up at 8: 30 and 2 pm still do not get it in.

I arrived at 8: 30am when they opened up and I stood in line for 6 hours for passport renewal. Once I got closer to the front of the line (around 2: 30pm) the security guard told me that there wasn’t enough time to help me and to come back earlier on another day.

We waited from 4am till open, only to be told that they won’t accept any walk ins unless you are leaving within 2 days. A simple sign on the door would solve the plethora of frustration that is being directed at the staff.

Thoroughly professional from start to finish from the people at security to the lady who helped me with my query. Booked an appointment online and was seen immediately on arrival. Couldn't ask for more.

Unfortunately the staff in this Service Canada office are very rude and felt racist attitude towards me and my family. Hopefully they can get trained to provide a good service.

This is the walk-in office for accessing a multitude of Government of Canada services such as Employment Insurance, Social Insurance Number, Passports, benefits, and more (see their website). Paid parking in the building surface lot, or limited free street parking a short walk away.

COVID protocols are in place. The check-in is now in the main floor building foyer, with line ups there and extending outside. #letsguide #covid

I would rather wait at other service canada offices than here, where there is no line.i finally understand why it's never busy cause the workers are super rude especially the woman with french accent.hello? I am here to get service as the name implies not be yelled at or shushed.will never visit again.

Very polite and efficient counter service personnel. A delight to receive such effective attention from our government.

If there will be an option of 0 star I will put 0, I was so disappointed, the one one who help me via phone was so unhelpful and very rude.

I have visited Service Canada twice and have been impressed with their efficiency and personal service. Yes, the line was long but that did not matter. Both times I was helped rather quickly. And both times the service was very good.

What I have experienced may not be your experience.

I was asked to come here to review my lease term three times, and each time, different ppl approached to me and promoted options that I disliked about it. I keep telling them that I would like to buy Out, eventually they invited me over and spent an hour tallking about financing new car, and then let me wait about 20 minutes, and do my but out procedures, it's about 2 hours now, and I haven't done my things yet!

Not sure if it's normal, but I am not feeling good about.

You do have to pay for parking and the spaces can be limited depending on the day and time you show up. We got lucky in terms of service as the lady who helped us was extremely nice, patient, understanding, and very professional.

Very friendly service and little wait time! In and out within 45 minutes around 11 am to noon time.
