Shabusen Yakiniku House

Recently, my friends and I were able to try out this Shabusen Yakiniku House. The location of the restaurant is slightly hidden, but we found the place after taking the elevator to second floor. We arrived just when it opened at eleven o'clock for lunch. Lunch on the weekends is more expensive than on the weekdays. Dinner is more expensive than lunch. Although we had a big group, the staff accommodated us with a room with windows facing the busy street.

At this all-you-can-eat korean BBQ sushi restaurant, you can expect to get beef and chicken marinated in Korean BBQ sauce. You can order sashimi and also shasimi rice sushi. You can only order 8 pieces of sashimi per person at a time though. This may bother you if you are eating with a smaller group. The portions arrive in big plates. There were three grills in our table. You have the option of replacing the grill rack when it becomes too dirty from grilling the meat.

Seating option range from 2-10 people. You have tables in the shape of boats you can sit in. You also have tables next to the chef with an open view so you can watch the cooks prepare food or you can face the street. The restaurant atmosphere is ok. The food cost around 40 dollars per person. Everyone was full. But, I wanted to order

Even as the restaurant was filling up with customers, the staff paid attention and served our group quickly. The staff helped refilled our water and tea and the pitchers were rarely empty even though we had a big group. This restaurant has washrooms, but it is not wheelchair accessible. Washroom was clean, but it is tiny. Parking is available on the street. You will have to walk to the restaurant.

Best Korean barbecue restaurant in Vancovuer. Service is always great because you never need to ask for something they’re always a step ahead. Food is delicious and the price is great.

Greedy wanted 20% tips for poor service. 7-11 has better sushi.
Will probably close down soon due to lack of customers.

UPDATE: My uncle and family just came back from there. He is a educated marine biologist. The bimbo girl crossed off the tuna
sashimi from the list and was told they have a equal replacement as it was sold out.
As it turned out, they were scammed and served cheap escolar
fish! It's a oily toxic fish and hard on the digestion.
Banned in Japan very high in mercury and causes diarrhea, just Google it!

The food here was incredible! Without a doubt one of my favorite places to eat in vancouver.

Great food, and great place, it's a all you can eat restaurant, just be sure to finish everything that you order, otherwise they will charge you an extra fee for the waste of food. You grill your own protein, a great place to go with friends or family

I went to eat the all you can eat menu with some friends and we were a little bit afraid because somehow this place doesn’t have that much good reviews. But honestly from our experience everything was very good, the food was super good and very tasty, the service was very nice and always there to help, the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, it would be better some music, but it doesn’t really matter. The food again was very very nice, we had a good time and enjoyed every single bite, and it’s a very fair price for a "all you can eat", the sushi was good, a lot of options, the bbq was super good, a lot of options as well. I really recommend this place if you guys like to eat a lot, we were so full that we wanted to throw up, but it was worth it because we really enjoyed the food!

Food was decent and the servers seem to know you better than you know yourself. We didn't get all the food we ordered for all you can eat, and it's good that we didn't because we would not have been able to finish it. The sushi portions are small while other, more economical, items have larger portions. The BBQ portions were larger than expected putting our food estimation off. It was very busy, so a reservation was a good idea.

Tried to reserve a table and told on phone they did not take reservations. Arrived at 5: 30 to find they did in fact take reservations just not for two people. Were told to wait and then offered a table on the condition we would be out in 1 hour. As we were planning to have the buffet we declined.

Great food and worth the price and many different dinning experiences. Unfortunatly didnt come with ssamjang sauce.

This restaurant's policy of forcing customers to tip is not only rude, but also illegal. In most cases, it is illegal to require a tip, and customers are free to choose whether or not to leave one. The restaurant's way of asking customers to pay for leftovers is also questionable. While it is customary to tip for good service, it is not mandatory. The restaurant's behavior is disappointing and should be reported. I used to love this restaurant before but not anymore.
Staffs are all trained and required to ask for a tip. It's very wrong. And the food is no longer worth the price.

Love it here. I’ve been to Shabusen a couple of times and the service is always good. Prices seems fair to me, you get to eat a lot. I visited last weekend with my family and we had a great time. Service was fast. Food was amazing. The sushi tastes really good. I will definitely come back.

They have good options for all you can eat. We tried sushi, kimchi, tempura, rice, gyoza, beef, spicy pork and chicken, everything was 10/10.

I love Shabusen! They have amazing service! I enjoy coming here for my birthday for AYCE. Highly recommend!

May not come again. Lots of options for a meal. However, the food doesn’t taste good and doesn’t look very fresh. Lettuce should be paid separately in addition to the AYCE.

I have frequented Shabusen for almost 18 years. I have always had a lovely experience and enjoyed the food. On August 13 I was sorely disappointed. Not only has the all you can eat menu shrunk, prices have gone up. The paltry menu is not justified by the cost. The quality of the food has diminished significantly. Has your management changed? Usually the place is packed but this Sunday I saw empty tables and a bare lobby - never in all these years have I seen that. I do not think I will return. I am a very disappointed long term customer.

Shabusen ayce has always been the best ayce in the downtown area. Never lets me down with the quality of their food. Price is fair for the ayce.

A absolute must go all you can eat japanese and korean bbq. 5m and we already had the entire buffee at our table, incredible service. No music which makes for a calming atmosphere and great table talk.

Good food, prompt service. Quality and quantity were also good. We all enjoyed our meals and left full. A little more variety would have been great, but otherwise no complaints.

Service was fast and the food came even faster. Meat was good and the sashimi was very fresh.

We are students and went by a group of 4. The food is great. However, they forced us to tips with the amount that they want. However, the gratuity is made for 6 people up

Was it bad but I expected to be a lot more than I thought it would be just another similar restaurant and most of the ones here. We need to really up our game in Japanese food in this city

Dine in requires 10$ charge per person. Plus if you use your credit card there a re fees.

Forced tipping its like a knife to the throat

Use to have good food but we were there a week a go Aug 2023 it wasn't fresh at all.
Avocados were stale the prep for the shrimp role was just horrible. Miso soup no flavour.
Not much to choose from the menu.

Will have to look for another place

Been eating there for 3 years now and the Guy manager quit already he was nice.
