I love this place. Gotta say the Matcha latte using Jagasilk matcha is amazing. I normally hate matcha lattes but this higher quality matcha makes this a must try. I will absolutely be coming back for this!

3 stars because the one that is connected to the outside is fine. Went into the market to the smaller booth and was "served" by a person who had the nerve to mansplain to me and of my friends that they could not make a drink with nutella EVEN THOUGH it was on their syrup menu. They simply had to tell us they didnt have nutella (which they didnt anyway), but instead responded: "No, we don't have nutella and how would I make a cold drink with nutella? " When we said we weren't sure they repeatedly asked us how they would make it because it would mix in so how was he supposed to make it. I have worked at a cafe for years and it's true that it is more difficult to make a mocha cold because of the chocolate, but don't have it on the menu if you can't make it. Or at least have the decency to explain nicely that it's not possible and offer another option instead of speaking in such a demeaning way. We left.

Really great coffee. Yummy desserts, especially the carrot cake. One star off for serving everything in disposable containers, including to people staying in to eat. It’s not as pleasant to have an expensive coffee (with a weighty tip option) out of a paper cup, not to mention the cumulative environmental impact.

Started my day with a great bagel and coffee at Shatterbox today.

Service was great and the bagel was excellent. The bagel had smoked salmon, pickled onions, cream cheese and jalapeños. Sooo good

Wonderful coffee, atmosphere and the food was delicious! Definitely one of the best brunches in Victoria, will definitely be returning.

Doggy friendly is always 5 stars. Food’s pricey, coffee is fairly priced, the little grocery is awesome in a pinch and needed for people living in the area

Had a really nice matcha latte. Black cold brew was pretty good too. Nice vibe inside, seemed like a nice place to hang out although I got mine to go.

Had to update my review to 5 stars now that I’ve come back for the food. Brandon clearly knows his way around the kitchen. Great coffee, great food, and even better values. Love what you guys are doing!

Genuinely one of the best coffee shops I've been to in vic in a while and I've lived here for a few years now.

Amazing and kind customer service. I asked if I could put an egg on the brie melt and the owner (I presume) replied in a bubbly "why not". I asked for a bit of salt and he brought some to the table very politely.

The quality of the coffee and the food was fantastic. It was obvious the ingredients are fresh. And there's also a lot of creativity in the menu items with fabulous presentation.

I can also see it's community oriented because of the little market inside with features of some local artists.

All around great little coffee shop / brunch spot!

The service here is great, the Americao is the best in the city (so far) I highly recommend it

Incredibly rude employee who became agitated, defensive, and standoffish when asked why a particular coffee roast was unavailable. He was unable to formulate an intelligent response and when i left he mumbled under his breath so i turned to asked him what he said and his response was that i should just leave. BTW this was in a multi vendor public space. Pretty sure in this current environment businesses are in no position to be alienating customers.

We had come in the store when it was really busy. I was expecting the employees to be a little on edge. But they stayed calm and got everyone drinks ready in fairly short amounts of time considering there were a lot of people there at the time. I would 100% come back again. BTW their London fogs are amazing.

I have really enjoyed the fresh muffins & delicious iced vanilla lattes! I can’t wait to try the in-house roasted beans I just purchased! #supportlocal

I was having an off morning so my review may not be completely fair. My bagel was okay. I liked the variety of seasonings on top and the house made cream cheese was good. I do give these guys points though for naming their vanilla nitro iced coffee the "Miami Vice. " Makes no sense whatsoever but it's my favorite movie so it made me smile. Ultimately, my mistake was ordering a Dark River coffee which was very weak and barely tasted of either chocolate or coffee. I probably should have just gone with an espresso and played it safe.

Their espressos are really great, but they only had expired coconut milk, which made me question why they even offered it instead of throwing it out and buying fresh? We opted for oat milk both times we went, and it was probably the best dairy-free coffee we had in all of Victoria. It was a shame one cashier in particular was so churlish, but it made for a humorous story back home.

We came in when the place was SUPER busy BUT the staff was super awesome, did a great job and the beverages were fabulous!

Probably the only place I have been able to find with GREAT ESPRESSO and a truly LARGE size that doesn’t cost over $7-8. Better than Starbucks or Macchiato. Love this place for lunch and coffee runs.

Pretty good coffee! I got the “Graham Cracker” specialty coffee and it tasted like the pumpkin spice latte from starbucks. Overall, pretty good. The cinnamon is not too overpowering.

Got the Hammy Scrambled Egg wrap for takeout. It tastes so good and I came back to order another one shortly after! Will come back again when I have a chance:)

I went for lunch here yesterday and was really disappointed by the pricing. I got a bagel with lox, expecting a full bagel but it was 10 for HALF a bagel! Crazy.

Friendly staff and a beautiful barista who’s latte designs are perfect!

Mocha was okay. Barista acted like he was doing me a favour by serving me. No thanks, soooooo many coffee joints with friendly faces and *timely* service.

Guy literally, I kid you not, looked me up and down, sneered a bit, then slooowly took a sip of his coffee before asking what I wanted. No hello, no friendliness. I was an imposition.

This guy went out of his way to CREATE a bad customer service experience.

Won't be back, particularly given the contrast to other places I've been for coffee downtown.

It’s dangerous living so close to a place like this! My preferred place to get an oat latte and a snack. Their new spot on the corner is amazing - you can find more than just coffee here too. Try the breakfast bagel

I just had my coffee from this place this morning. This is literally the worst coffee I've ever had. I ordered a caramel macchiato and I repeated multiple times that I wanted my coffee sweet with caramel syrup in it. My coffee came out tasting nothing but horribly bitter. It wasn't even put in a small sized coffe cup. It was put in a tiny expresso sized cup. Horrible attitude from the barrista as well. What a waste of my money and I would never come back to this place ever or recommend it to anyone even my worst enemy.

Edit: Thank you for the reply owner. I gave a 1 star review on the quality of service and the fact your worker purposely put my coffee in a tiny espresso cup. On top of that, the coffee I asked for was not sweet as I asked for many times to do so. I felt like this was more of an attack than a service, that's how I felt leaving your store. Check your cameras if you don't believe me. Not sure why this was even intended but you need to make sure your employees are properly trained. I had to order another coffee to make up for their lack of education. Thank you for stealing my money.

5/5 — I ordered a fruit cup, a croissant and an iced jasmine green tea with honey while my boyfriend had a steamed strawberry milk, the service was amazing and I’ll totally stop here for breakfast again.
