10: 30pm 2nd in line at the cashier. Another customer who was at self checkout had an item behind the till desk. The cashier said to me “give me a second”. He acknowledged me and went to the self checkout with the customer and did his thing. But he then stood back at the end of an isle and talked with another employee. I gave it 15 to 20 seconds and he was still standing there. I walked away and put my item back in the cooler section. He still hasn’t got back to the register. So I went somewhere else. It will be sometime before I return if I even do.

All of the workers here are wonderful but they are just horribly understaffed. They need to put more people on shift to deal with long line ups at the cashiers and the post office.

Update: Left my food where I stood because you don't want to actually put more then one cashier on at a time and I refuse to go to self serve. Please improve in this area. Self serve is not the experience I want for a business getting my hard earned money.

Dec2/23 - same problem. Hire some more staff this is wild.

The pharmacist and pharmacist assistant are rude and do not provide the minimum customer service to patients in need of medicine.

As for me it's a good drug store. A lot of items with discount. The stuff is always polite.

I will give zero star, , my wife is really sick at home and needed an oximeter very urgent. The staff at this location is irresponsible and a complete slack off, I guess the staff I politely asked for help was too busy chatting with his colleague. He wasn't really professional and impatient with my questions, when I asked if the store have oximeter, But instead telling me to buy a blood pressure monitor which doesn't detect blood oxygen. If you are unsure of something, then just admit that you don't know, instead of telling customer buy things that they don't need. Shoppers should not hire people like this.

I love shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart, they have almost everything I need but I’m giving a 3 stars review because the Vitamins and Supplements aisle gets locked with a gate sometimes in the evenings and when I ask for help to pick up something I’m always rushed and treated poorly!

However, it’s not like that during the day but sometimes I don’t have any time during the day to stop by.

I understand that they’re trying to prevent theft but I recommend implementing a new strategy as their loyal customers deserve to feel welcomed.

Found everything I needed while doing a quick shop for basic things like shampoo, coffee and soap. Couldn't use the ATM with an international Mastercard though, it wouldn't read my card. I saw a lot of comments saying they are race profiling people. I was there for less than 10 minutes so I didn't felt watched or anything, or at least I did not felt like I was. But once again, I was in a hurry.

Terrible service by the cosmetic counter manager as identified to me. Showed a pic from the shoppers website on cream I wanted and was immediately dismissed as never heard of it and must be only an online thing. No bother to even look it up which would reveal that in fact it is out of stock currently but available at other stores. No attempt to get it from that store just a scowl and shrug of shoulders when I told her again as she could not be bothered. The other two counter people were friendly.

Store hours of operation are 24 hours however store is always closed lately at night due to technical issues. Surely a company this large can get support to fix "technical issues"? This has been going on for months now. Not the only local complaining about this. Corporate office needs to take a look at this location.

Bit slow but satisfied most of the times. But open 24/7 is great and thank you for all the help!

Pharmacy Manager, your team is absolutely incompetent with basic tasks. Let me explain:
Yesterday I brought a prescription to your pharmacy to renew drugs and since I changed my employer, I provided my new Insurance card which has direct drug coverage. Your pharmacist looked into the card and asked me to provide another card with a carrier #. I said I have only one card and not sure what she is asking about. She asked me to look for the carrier # on the App, so i looked there as well, so she did, then she ran to the back for confirmation and came back saying that there is no carrier #, so if I want drugs I have to pay full price for the drugs, pay taxes, and then submit a claim online through my insurance company. So I did. By submitting a claim online I also email a customer service agent asking for another card with carrier #. The agent responded within a couple hours explaining there was no other card. The carrier # is written on the main (and the only) card. So I called your pharmacy again this morning explaining the situation and the pharmacy girl told me that I probably brought the wrong card. THAT'S THE ONLY CARD I HAVE - i shouted at her ridiculous comment. Then I asked for the refund - she said they don't do that (!), I have to contact my insurance company, which appears to be not true as well! You take the money, you refund, simple, isn't. Insurance company confirmed that as well.
Obviously, I transferred my prescription to another pharmacy where pharmacists looking at the card are capable of finding 2 digits.

Unreliable. Booked a vaccination appointment online only to be told they were out of vaccines upon arrival.
Pharmacist was also rather hard to understand.

Came in here for a covid vaccine booster and they made me and several other people wait for over 45 minutes for no obvious reason.

I've been going to the Davie and Thurlow location for well over 15yrs and have always loved this location. I've picked my meds up from there for the last 16yrs. Here's the deal. They are Shoppers DRUG Mart. This is to assume that first and foremost they are a pharmacy where a regular customer goes and picks up their medications. For me it's once a week. Well I've noticed that the grocery, and cosmetics departments of this store are doing really well but in the last few years I've noticed a sharp decline in service and reliability of the pharmacy department. Well, they for no concrete reason have told me to start calling in my need for my med refills at least 2 or 3 days in advance. I was like clockwork getting my meds refills available for pick up every Monday pre approved. So I'm a bit miffed by this change. Now I called in 8 days ago to refill my script they told me Monday pick up.long story short every day from Monday onwards I've gone to pick up my meds and they're not done. Everytime I've been told to come during the day later topick them up but that's my bedtime as I work the late afternoon/evening shift at my job. So I have forgone sleep and gone to I suffer from various mental and physical problems that require me to take my medications daily noget them when they've suggested and once again they've not been refilled. I am on day 7 of not having my meds I am now dealing with mental and physical issues that I am most likely going to end up in emergency for because they've not even offered or given me an emergency dose Of my I am seriously not Y about this. My health has been Mend because Them. Loyal customer for over 15yrs and they treat me like this? Unacceptable I will be contacting thE pharmacyeTical licensing bord. I know I am but one of many that has had this sorT of issue happen at that location. It 100% not acceptable by any standards. But hey if I need the latest in Christmas decorations no M. Oh and the security at this location has to seriously check themselves. Not every single person

It’s a Shoppers like any other, except that it’s the only 24-hour drug store in the entire city! Making it an essential service for half a million people. Worth more than 5 stars.

The pharmacy at this shoppers drug mart is appalling and with so many choices around why deal with these nasty people. Pharmacists are part of our healthcare system and can play a valuable part in helping all of us to be healthier. But this department at shoppers DRUG mart are full of nasty people working to fulfill the needs of their big business daddy rather than taking care of people. In the beautiful city of Vancouver I have never encountered such unkind and inhumane staff. You have been warned. In the beautiful city of Vancouver there are plenty of excellent small and independent pharmacies. Choose any of them over this foul excuse for a healthcare provider.

Had a great experience here getting our flu shots. The Pharmacist Vince was really good with our kids. He went the extra mile to make them more comfortable. Parking is paid but you get reimbursed (30mins) with purchases.

Staff are nice here

Worst staffed pharmacy/store in general I 've ever been too. Have been going here for months to pick up prescriptions out of convenience but have seen numerous gross incidents of incompetence/racism/lack of proper management (including a indigenous man passing out in line and being dragged outside by security and them messing up my prescriptions countless times)
I was there today late at night and one of the employees started screaming at me because he thought I stole something. When I provived my reciept I was called a junkie

This pharmacy never gets my doctors’ faxes on the first go. Each time my prescription is faxed in, I go in or call to get it filled, and they don’t have it. Then I go back to my clinic and they verify that the fax was sent, so they send it another time or 2, then they FINALLY receive it. I don’t understand what issues Shoppers has receiving faxes, but I overheard someone at the counter with the same issue. I will be going to London Drugs for prescriptions from now on.

The pharmacy here needs to be investigated, over heard a guy ask for pain killer medication for his son who just got out of the hospital, apparently! Didn't have a prescription for pain medication, pharmacy gave him some anyway. Properly train and educate the pharmacy staff. This shoppers is a joke.

My husband and I called ahead and were told that they had two boxes of baby tylenol. Our daughter developed a fever after getting her four month vaccines. We drove in from burnaby only to be told the system was down and that nobody there answered the phone or talked to anyone. My husband and I were very confused because we definitely called the right number and did in fact talk to a pharmasist. We understand that if the system is down there isn't much they can do, however it seemed the system had been down for quite some time, and we had called only 25 minutes before.

I hate going to drug store cosmetics counters. But today, Chantel was there to answer my questions and give recommendations. She did a fabulous job and has a lovely disposition. My friend and I are pleased with our purchases. Thank you!

This is a dangerous place to go at night as it is one of the only places open 24 hours- there are a lot of sketchy individuals and I would not recommend going there after the sun goes down.

The staff is usually not very helpful at this location. Otherwise this store has all the necessities and is conveniently located on Davie St with some designated free parking. This location has a small food section as well

Pretty decent, good source of random stuff you need in the middle of the night. Not really anything to complain about or rave about either, it's a 24h drug store with minimum wage employees, what are you really expecting?

The staff is racist towards indigenous customers. A male employee (in picture) became violent towards a young indigenous woman. All she did was use her freedom of speech to stand up for herself when she noticed staff were following her around the store. Disgusting behaviour from a major Canadian retailer.

This man assaulted young ladies at this shoppers location wearing their uniform. I took a screen recording of the video and you can see in multiple frames his blue sleeved arm around the young lady who took the video- she is wearing what appears to be a purple knitted cardigan- not blue at all. I highly suggest shoppers looks into this. I will be calling head office once they open. I’m sure they have camera footage of this aswell. So disgusting.

I am a long time customer of the Davie st location and have gotten to know Bruce very well over the years! He is the farthest thing from racist! I am very disappointed that you would let such a good employee go. The staff at this location are constantly harassed and they just take it. Honestly I'm just appalled with this news. I will take my business elsewhere and let everyone I know to follow suit! Shame on you Shoppers!

The female East Indian cashier working evenings is extremely rude. I’ve come in several times and she doesn’t even say hello when you approach her to checkout, she just starts scanning the items. Doesn’t say anything but what the total is and rolls her eyes when you say you want a bag. Worst customer service ever…. And the cashier was extremely slow… there needs to be at least two cashiers at the front at all times.

An Indigenous friend was harassed, and physically assaulted at this location by their staff. Security racially profiling Indigenous people and following them around the store.

Shoppers Drug Mart on Davie. It is totally unacceptable the way that managers in the Pharmacy area are dealing with urgently medication requests for patients in pain, and it is clear that something is being very poorly managed. Customer service simply no longer exists, the rudeness of employees towards the customers and lack of empathy and crisis management is regrettable. Employees now hang up the phone while the customer is still talking and requesting important information about medication, staff really don't care about safety or risk that delaying medication could cause to who needs immediate attention. It's a total disrespect. Higher general manager/CEO any thoughts? Let's provide feedback to your loyal customer? The system is collapsing and nobody takes any action? This is shameful! What happened with the excellent services we used to have at this location? Excellent customer service? Staff working with compassion, empathy and ready to serve with high levels of knowledge? I've heard from one of the managers today, if you're not happy, go find another pharmacy! Please? ! Training over training to make that person capable to understand the BUSINESS! PLEASE AND THANK YOU. That's an unfortunate!

The Pharmacist at night was very rude while answering the legitimate questions I had over the phone about my prescription medication.

I've been coming here approximately once a week for the past 10 months and every time I enter the store, the security guard immediately starts following me around. I have never had this problem anywhere else and at this point I'd rather walk the extra couple blocks to another drugstore.

THIS PLACE HAS FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEIR VITAMINS AND MULTIVITAMINS ISLE AS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE for the last 6 months. It's dirty and weird, associates are uppity and condescending instead of helpful and smiling. It's like they don't work with people. No customer service at all. They just ignore people. Their security people are more polight and at least greet. You're ridiculous with switching the prices insanely and daily, like an unbalanced person is doing it. Shoppers is actually bad.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever seen. They’ve said it will take 40 minutes to get ready for 2 weeks medication but I took 1 and half hours. I can not imagine if I ask for 2 months

I was served by a lovely Irish girl, Sinead, she helped me pick out the correct skin care products to suit my type of skin. She spent so much time to make sure I got the correct products. Very very professional service. Thank you Sinead!

Worst customer service. Not even responding at night time. Do not recommend to go this place. For emergency i travelled from Marine drive to downtown and they dont have in stock and very rude reply. They behave depends on individual.

I just LOVE that this place is so close and local to me! And they carry so many items I’m here more than the grocery store. Bananas, fruit, snacks, bread, spreads, butter, cheese, eggs (and often cheaper than Independent grocery down the street even though I think they’re owned by the same company)

Listen the variety of products amazing. And love the points card. And they have great sales. But because they suspect my boyfriend is stealing from there. He has no need, so unserasumtions they treat him and myself like criminals. I'm a business owner. Learn to understand that not everyone is a theif.

Terrible customer service. They sold me a $100 Esso Gift card with zero balance on it. When I purchased the gift card, I watched the cashier scan and supposedly, activate it. However, when my dad tried using it at the Esso station, he was told that it has a zero balance on it. So i went back to Shoppers with the gift card and the receipt. I asked them if they can take a look at the card again and try activating it again. They refused to do that and instead laughed at me for not able to read that the receipt shows it's activated. I am furious. They took my money and gave me a worthless gift card. Thanks guys!

The staff is so rude and there's one there that continues to roll his eyes because he finds it difficult to hear through the plexiglass barriers.

Nicorette gum 105 pieces is $34 or $36 anywhere like london drugs, super store, safeway, yet they're selling it for $43 at shoppers, what a joke? !

I would not recommend this pharmacy to anybody who is trans or gnc. I was loudly misgendered by multiple staff more than once in front of other customers. I am a trans woman and explicitly corrected both staff who misgendered me. Neither of them apologized or corrected themselves. I left the store feeling really upset and asked my partner to call and complain on my behalf. The supervisor on shift who spoke
to my partner also misgendered me even after my partner said I was a trans woman
multiple times. He stated that staff "call it like they see it" implying that I do not look like a woman. My partner insisted that this experience warrants an apology but he would not offer one. He was adamant that his staff just gender people however they would like. My partner suggested that they offer some sort of sensitivity training as many queer and trans people attend this pharmacy due to its location on Davie street as well as it's close proximity to Three Bridges where many of us access TransCare. I will not be returning here and will be letting other trans people know not to either. I believe the staff here are ignorant to the ways in which accessing health care is difficult for trans women and do not care about correcting this and making their pharmacy safer for us. It is not that hard not to sir or ma'am somebody. It's 2020.

In Vancouver from Kamloops on a medical issue for my husband. Accommodating pharmacist was able to fill the prescription with our blue cross coverage and have it ready to go early am. Thank you one less thing I had to worry about!

The company as a whole is not any better than other big corporation, but this specific store has The WORST customer service I have ever encountered. They are condescending when you ask them to explain their in adequate explanation and talk to you as if you are bothering them. I am in the process of finding another pharmacy.

They need to work on the productivity of their pharmacy. I often pick up prescriptions and the line always has at least 5 people in it to do the same. Only one person helping all 5, but at any given time there are multiple staff in the pharmacy that won't step in to help reduce the line. I was fed up the last time I went to see multiple staff members just chatting and laughing away as the line kept getting bigger and bigger.

Today me and my wife went into shoppers drug mart On Davie street and met the lady who worked in the cosmetics department her name was Anisha. I was shocked at the level of customer service she gave us and so helpful sweet knowledgeable About all the products my wife asked about. She is definitely a asset to that store. We ended up

This will be the last time i use this shoppers. The old Russian woman in cosmetics gave me an impression she thought i was going to steal. I'm currently enrolled in school and made a visit to grab sticky notes for my exam. Went to possibly grab some cosmetics i was running low on, and I was watched like a hawk, Made very uncomfortable she then told me how she can "ring me up now" and I said i'm not done yet. She then proceeded to tell me leave my sticky notes at the front. I felt very uncomfortable so i decided to end my shopping. Clearly looking at other reviews i'm not alone in interactions like this.

Like some other reviewers, here, I have found service, particularly at the pharmacy, hit and miss. Cynthia is always wonderful but others seem suspicious of prescriptions, even for non-narcotics.

Late late night shopping was great except being discriminated by the security guard by being followed closely didn't feel too good. As I know there were others in the store but I was the only one who was followed: (so if your aboriginal you will be closely followed here

The worst customer service out of all the other Shoppers Drug Mart locations. This location has the rudest cashiers ever. I appreciate they are working during this strange time but no one forced them to work. Please be kind to others and be happy.

The store has paid parking lot. Theres huge sign at the parking meter saying 30min of parking will be reimbursed at the cashier. So i paid the parking fee and shopped. I asked the cashier about the parking reimbursement, she only refunded part of it. I asked why I didnt get full amount, and she told me tax doesn't get reimbursed. There is nowhere on the sign that says tax wont be reimbursed. Its misleading and disgusting lying to paying customers.

My girlfriend and I (both in our 30s), were in the make-up section looking for new foundation for her. We don't look sketchy in the slightest, but low and behold, the paranoid old Russian woman at the counter felt it was vital to keep an eye on us. We start nearing the end of the make-up aisle and she feels the need to tell us that we have to pay at the make-up counter because of the product we are getting. We still have some looking to do, and could see right through her BS, so we kept browsing and looked back, only to see her telling 3 other employees to watch us or something like that. We pay at the self-checkout as some other paranoid employee is gawking us. Funny enough, the make-up we got ended up being able to be purchased at the self-checkout! Strange.

Moral of the story, go here if you're a mid-30's working professional and want to feel like a teenager again. Pathetic. At least train your employees to be more subtle/better in the art of unnecessary profiling
