I always go here because it’s close to my house, sometimes it takes a long time waiting at the pharmacy, but it’s because they’re busy so i don’t mind, maybe they could get a bell though or something cause sometimes they don’t see me.the security guards always smile at me which is good.

Terrible customer service and attitude . Pharmacist is really rude especially the manager. I got doctors prescription pill and when I opened it up and take the pill I find it that it different from what I usually take. So I went and ask that they give me wrong one from what the doctor prescriptithe they said that this is a non name brand. It serious when you give out the medication to patients that isn't described or look like the one they took before. This is the last time we going come here. Please trained the manager how to become a professional customer handling. No apologies after mistake was make. There so many bad reviews on this pharmacist already but the company is still not taken any action on it. No wonder you loosing customer and money. By having bad management handling

Terrible customer service and attitude towards people in need; my wife went there to get prescription and was told they don't have this medicine but have similar one. They said that they WILL NOT ORDER proper one for her because they have thousands of the other one and it will spoil and they will have to throw it out - pretty close is a Safeway pharmacy, they have no problem ordering what she needed - lesson learned!

I generally don’t mind coming to this location for some basic things/necessities. You can definitely what you need here if it’s not a ‘major’ shopping list that you have. Sometimes it has things at good sale price which is great coz regular price can get insane. It’s a matter of convenience if you are in the area.

Although I have found recently that they don’t always necessarily mark things correctly, especially when there’s a price change or sales price. For example, I was recently there to pick up paper towel and noticed everything on the paper towel/toilet paper rack had the regular price marked. However, when I went to do a price check on the one I wanted, it actually showed up on the scanner at a sale price, which means the staff hadn’t marked it on the shelf to sale price. So do keep this in mind going in to the store.

Now, let me be clear: 4 stars for personality. The self-check is a garbage idea. It's not that large a store where you'd need self-check. And it's true. I've ditched purchases I would have liked to have made and left because I'm not waiting for a cashier to come from whatever they are stocking to do their job. Hire a merchandiser already.and get rid of the self-check.

Awful service today. If your going to employ a younger generation, at least train them how to speak to customers and cater to customers in a professional manner instead of slamming phones down. The Cosmetic dept used to be a great place to shop, the service was always great, now its just a few bad apples / immature inexperienced girls. Better training is needed.
I have to say the pharmacy is very competent and is on top of everything when it comes to percriptions and information. Jake is wonderful and provides great service. Not so much I've noticed with other pharmacist who do not give out accurate information when dealing with medication.
Update.the cosmetic department should be shut down at this location or revised.
. Proper Training obviously isn't provided.the younger generation trying to cater to mature customers with no respect at all, trying to tell customers what THEY think they need. Offensive to say least.also telling a customer what they can and cannot afford. The ignorance and unprofessionalism is unreal Karen certainly did not address this at the time when spoken to store manager prior. NEVER again when I ever attempt to shop at this cosmetic dept again.

This is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever had to deal with. I switched here earlier this year and its one mistake after another, prescriptions supposed to be ready and not, only giving one prescription when they were supposed to have given us multiple. Today was the worst. I stayed with them even though I have moved again way farther away and went to pick up my prescriptions 3 hours after my doctor had confirmed they were called in and told the pharmacist that and she said she didnt have it but she did. I waited around 2 more hours and gave up. IMy prescriptions arewell over a 1000.00 a month. The time I have to waste going back multiple times because they cant keep their act together is ridiculous.

I call the pharmacy about one a month to get a refill on medication, and have to wait about 30 min to an hour to be helped, and half the time they HANG up on me. So the wait was for nothing.

To management:

Spent 10 minutes making a selection and proceeded to the open checkout counter. No customers were in line, and barely any customers in the store. When I found no one at the till, I called over the cashier who walked off to stock an item and then was told: if I am not paying cash I would have to use the self check out unless it was a lottery ticket. I stood there wanting to be served by a human on a till, and she refused. I put my selection on the counter and left.

0/10 for customer service.

Cashier refused to do what is in their job description. Maybe they had a bad day, no idea, but regardless I intend to never shop here again. PS I dont need to be referred to a 1-800 number to call and make a report too, just remind your staff at the next morning meeting so that future customers don’t have to go through the treatment I went through.

Extremely disappointed with the treatment at this store. I went to buy toothpaste at self check out and when I left, the security alarm went off. Store security was very rude to me unnecessarily. I was very embarrassed in the store when I absolutely paid for the product. This store is horrible!

I had very annoying experiences with this pharmacy. I repeated many times that my medicine is for mental health, but I have to call several times and ask them for those. I said several times, please help me, I get my medication easy, but
They never to improve their work.

Burquitlam Shoppers Drug Mart:
April 26 2023:
It goes from bad to worse at Burquitlam Shoppers.

Yesterday I called the pharmacy to follow up on my request to refill my statin medication. The woman from pharmacy on the phone said no problem and by the way you have some blister packs here waiting for pick up
I said I would come the next day (which was today) to pick everything up.

I arrived at Burquitlam Shoppers, today, my medication was not there and there was nothing on file for me.
No offer to give me an emergency supply (I was told you can’t stop statins suddenly).

The pharmacy area was a complete disaster. Papers everywhere, Bags of people’s prescriptions everywhere, even on the floor, the medication on the shelving was a mess. A bottle of medication was left on the counter where people pick up their prescriptions!
The names on the Pharmacist and assistants on duty sign were not those who were working.

I asked the pharmacist for an emergency prescription of the statin until I could get a hold of my doctor.

When I went to pay for my emergency supply, the assistant showed me the contents of the bottle. The tablets were considerably bigger than the ones I was taking for the last 3 months.which has been filled the Burquitlam pharmacy

So I asked the pharmacist to confirm that the tablets were the correct ones, I started to explain why I would like her to verify the tablets but she cut me off saying she “didn’t want to hear the story”. I was shocked. She was visibly annoyed that I was questioning the contents of the emergency supply.
I paid for my medication and went on my way.

When I got home, I compared the emergency supply tablets with the few of my original tablets I had left.
I re-read the label on my original bottle, comparing it to the emergency supply bottle. Everything matched-except the size of the tablets.
The tablets I had been taking had no markings on them, so it was impossible for me - a lay person- to even know what I had been taking.

Since I got no where with the Burquitlam pharmacy, I decided to take both bottles: my original bottle with the very small tablets, and the bottle of emergency supply containing the much larger tablets, to a different pharmacy to ask why the tablets did not look the same. Perhaps they were a different brand?

They verified that the bottle of tablets I had been taking for the last 3 months was not the dose prescribed. The label on the bottle indicating the dosage was correct, according what my dr told me I would be taking, but the actual tablets in that bottle were for a completely different dosage.

I had been taking the wrong dosage of the statin medication for the better part of the last 3 months, because Burquitlam Shoppers failed to properly verify what they were giving me! I was given 90 tablets, a considerable amount.

2 things come to mind immediately:
1. They didn’t actually verify what they gave me before signing off.
2. They are not controlling their inventory if prescription medication.

Recall that I had no idea that I was not, in fact, taking the right dosage, as this was my first time taking this medication and there were no markings on the tablets.

Now, think about this:
since they did not verify the contents of my prescription, what if it was a completely different medication altogether? !

In this instance - by the grace of God alone - the dosage they gave me was less than what I was suppose to be taking, and the medication itself was the correct medication.
My recent blood work came back with a marked improvement in my cholesterol!

Again, consider this, though:
what if the small dose had NOT improved my cholesterol and my doctor then prescribed a considerably higher dose than would have been necessary, believing, as I had, that I had indeed been taking the correct dose for the last 3months?

***PLEASE, RECONSIDER DEALING WITH THIS PHARMACY! ***
It could be very dangerous to your health!

I have now moved all my prescriptions to a new pharmacy.

This was the worst pharmacy experience in Canada, My wife had a problem and had a doctors prescription sent to this pharmacy, we were told that they will mix it and bring in 2-3 days but they took more than 1 week to deliver it. Not worth even for 1 star.

I though that it was me. Seems like a change in ownership resulted in a drop in customer service. Perhaps someone in charge should have completed some type of role-playing training where they apologize for errors without arguments.

I don’t understand what happened - I’ve been coming here for a year to fill my prescriptions with no issues. I had a medication renewed march 29 and received confirmation and even a phone call from that pharmacy to confirm they received it, but when I went to pick it up, my prescription mysteriously disappeared from the system. It’s a psychiatric medication so I can’t miss a day, and I missed 5.
The pharmacist was nice enough to write me an emergency prescription (60 day supply), however when I went to pick that up the next day, the prescription was the wrong dose (lower than what I take) and the pharmacist working told me that they can’t give me that prescription and have to cancel it. She changed my emergency supply to the right dosage but now I have to wait longer while it’s filled, since it’s so busy.

Staff members are rude and customer service was terrible.the blonde older manager was also really mean and unhelpful when i had an issue with shoppers double charging my card.

Not happy with the drugstore, simple prescription drugs wasn't ready as promised. Lacked some medicine were replaced with other brands but not explained to me. So was there 3 times. No more

I have never encountered such a sharp drop off of quality of service as this particular shoppers drug Mart since they went under new ownership.
If you want to watch your pharmacist flip through loose papers all over their desk and the floor for your prescription they cannot find then this is your place.
Having them argue with you is the icing on the cake.

The lady named Leora working at the cosmetic department is super humble and extremely sweet. I visited this store last night to buy a face product and was quite confused about the product I want to buy however Leora was so helpful and knowledgeable about the cosmetic products. She educated me about different products and price range which helped me to choose one that suit my needs. Thanks Leora for your welcoming attitude and help:) will definitely return back again

Everything stated in the poor reviews is 100% accurate. I didn’t want to believe it and took it upon myself to go to the pharmacy for a vaccine. Although the website clearly states walk in is appropriate the ladies behind the counter preferred to tell me to book an appointment online. When I asked them to show me how (because the online message states walk in) they refused and proceeded to argue Vs simply inviting me in to get the flu vaccine. No line up. Early morning. Service appalling. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Adding: it’s apparent this location will be flattened to make way for new apartment towers. Perhaps the new integration will force them to reassess the p-poor service levels.

Horrible pharmacy. Lazy staff and unhelpful. Reading all the reviews made me realize that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Close it down or hire better people

There is a certain irregularity in this pharmacy and you have to tell them the MasterCard number every time, you have to call more than three times to get medicine. You have to wait for half an hour to get medicine. I am not satisfied with this pharmacy at all. Really bother me a lot.

I notice that they don't call you when you prescription is ready like most pharmacies.

I know I can always count on Drug Mart to have everything I need! The best drugstore is located near me! Highly recommend

We were able to purchase with peace of mind because they have a pretty good return policy. In other words, they had respect for their customers.
