Great store, very stressed pharmacy. All pharmacies are working under difficult conditions, my opinion, people expect instant gratification. I order my prescriptions a week before they run out-good hint everyone. However at 9 am Thursday 19 jan, a very rude abrupt member of staff was encountered re covid shot, totally unnecessary, it was just a question.

Today I moved my prescriptions over to a new pharmacy. I have been a faithful customer of this store for many years. For three times now, they have not recorded the prescriptions that my doctor sent them. Today, I was told that they were too busy to search through the many faxes they receive from doctors and that I would have to start all over again. It must be nice to have so much business that you don't mind losing a good customer.

I have been going to this drug store for many, many years and Murray and his staff have always been courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. We leave the country several times a year and Murray always arranges that we have enough of our prescriptions to take with us. Nothing is ever too much for him and his helpful staff. Also the Shoppers Drug Mart always has some wonderful sales. We find no faults with this great store and will continue to use their services as long as we are able.

Have always been friendly and professional. Especially make up cosmetic counter! Knowledgable as well.

Assistant manager is mouthy, unhelpful, and flat out disrespectful. Honestly shocked at how poor the customer service is here. Avoid at all costs.

Lady who answered the phone (line option 3 - “other questions for health and medications”) was extremely rude and impatient, cut me off while l was talking. I felt terrible and depressed after the call and it reminded me a similar phone call situation at this location before.

In addition, l got a Epi Pen which only good for 1MONTH for my son. I was so shocked that they could made such a terrible mistake. Although l had a replacement with no problem but l would suggest the owner to educate the pharmacist to be extremely careful when they give out medications like this.

The pharmacy team’s customer service has declined significantly over the period of 3 years since I moved to this location. I have been coming here and I have been getting rude remarks.
The staff are doing their job to refill your meds but in a rude and condescending manner. They have no people skills.
I had issues with my prescription not being refilled for over two weeks. I followed up and waited but was told that it’s in process. I checked again and it’s still in process. I had to request for another prescription from another doctor just to get a new one as I ran out of meds. Waited for another week and nothing. So I stopped by to take my chance and they said that they were waiting for approval from my doctor. I don’t think that’s true as my doctor said that it’s been processed on their end. The new prescription from another doctor was just sitting in their piles of paper work. They way they handled this was very disappointing. Even if the pharmacist helped refill my prescription for 3 months’ worth on the day I dropped by, I didn’t receive the negative attitude well from the Pharmacist who helped me.
They all seem on edge and overworked. If they are short staff, it’s not an excuse to treat their customers disrespectfully.
The lifeline of their business are the people they serve. So be kind.
I dread coming back here and will take my business elsewhere. Unless they improve their service. I am changing my 5 stars to 1 star. Disappointing!

I just moved here to Victoria and this location is closest to my home. I was pleased with their customer service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful! I’ll definitely come back here for my refills.

Would of been nice to know that they won’t fill a prescription sent in by your doctor until you phone and ask for it….

Terrible cashier when I asked th price was different from what I see she was so upset will never come again

I had recently come into this shoppers, and was having an allergic reaction to some makeup I had purchased online.
I didn’t get her name but there was a young woman working in the cosmetics department who was SO HELPFUL! I tried to call and thank her but couldn’t get through on the automated service.
She not only recommended products that cleared up the reaction, and soothed it, but also recommended some of the best beauty products I’ve used so far!
Totally impressed!
And super thankful for her help!

The pharmacy team at Shoppers Royal Oak is excellent - knowledgeable, courteous and thoroughly professional. I've been a customer there for many years so I know this has always been their standard, even in the most challenging of times during the pandemic. Pharmacist Murray and the others are always so helpful and considerate!

This pharmacy (management and staff) are extremely rude. I ensure politeness and patience always as they are chronically understaffed and they do not provide the same in return, ever! Urgent medication refills are not prioritized, even for children, and they have no capacity to make judgement calls when it comes to the well being of their patients. Zero compassion or professionalism. Its not surprising they cannot keep staff and have such a turnover they are probably treated very badly and take it out on their patients. They belittle you and take no accountability or use any common sense.

The Staff here are incompetent. Consistently losing prescriptions, constantly need reminding to check their fax machines for prescriptions sent a week ago when they insist to your face and over the phone (rudely) that they 'don't have it' when they do, wasting your time and your doctors sending multiple requests. They never check your file so good luck if you have allergies, I've been given the wrong medication multiple times with my specific allergy in it causing allergic reactions despite the RED FLAG on my file! When calling to confront the staff on this issue their behavior is anything but apologetic in fact, it's condescending! Example: "oh its such a small amount it should be fine. " Thanks Karen, for explaining how allergies work. Not. I'm 2 seconds away from reporting this pharmacy for negligence.

Murray at the Pharmacy was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating arranging last minute PCR tests for travel. Excellent service. I would highly recommend Murray and this location to others.

They have messed up my family's scripts so many times recently. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt as a loyal customer only to have them mess up again. Short staffed is not an excuse when the patient is relying on the meds and gives ample time for them to be filled. There is no recourse. Staff used to be competent and friendly. Not so now. I switched my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. And they got that wrong. When I called to rectify the situation it took them 20 minutes to answer the phone and after I spoke to somebody they hung up on me not once but twice. The 2nd time the owner Murray hung up on me. Unacceptable business practices. Especially when people rely on their medications for sometimes life threatening illnesses. I had been a client for well over 10 years and am so disappointed. Yes times are hard however other pharmacies are not having this issue. I hope others read this review.

Being short staffed is no excuse to be rude and not do your job. We were there way before closing time, but the pharmacist was clearly in a hurry to get home instead of dispensing medicine and taking proper notice of customer requirements. Customer service at this location is just terrible than words can express. The hours of the location are even less considerate.

Before you respond to my comment with your robotic message, I can see that other people have brought up similar concerns, yet there is no change. The pattern of terrible customer service continues, and your robotic message only goes to show that you don't really address the problem even though its right there.

The pharmacy has the worst customer service! A few months ago, the pharmacy assistant was extremely rude to me and was unable to provide me with any help when she told me my prescription was discontinued. I disregarded this interaction, hoping that it was just an off day. However the next time I went to refill a prescription, Murray, the owner, was very rude and unprofessional. I will not be going back to this pharmacy. The staff are unprofessional, rude, and seem annoyed when they have to help you.

The owner of this location, Murray, provides the worst customer service ever. When I questioned him why he couldn't provide a service I had paid for he simply hung up on me and when I called back to speak to a manager his answer was "he owns the whole joint and doesn't care". Corporate office should take note as he is making your whole chain look bad.

I have been a customer since this store opened. My last visit, one of pharmacy assistants was totally rude and argumentative with me because I phoned in my prescription. It was extremely unprofessional and after she argued with me, I chose to take my prescription elsewhere. Went to the Save on pharmacy and had the best experience! Will never be back.

Pharmacy was very helpful and accommodating. At the time there were very busy, but they still took the time to make sure everything was looked after. Even after I made the mistake! Wonderful to have this kind of service especially in these strange times.thank you!

Had an excellent experience with good customer service/over the phone help getting my prescription transfer and such sorted out.

There is a pharmacy assistant there who is quite rude and is the reason why I avoid the pharmacy if at all possible. My prescriptions are elsewhere. Also, one make-up dept employee who appears unfriendly. However, the rest of the staff is so lovely, I put up with those two. There is one young lady at the make-up department who is outstanding and deserves a huge raise - she is wonderful every time I come in.

I've had problems getting in contact over the phone, they never have my prescription ready, and they dont bother understanding or covering things through the First Nations health authority.

The two stars is because they've gotten some things done for me, but have denied using my healthcare before.

This is such a great pharmacy. Murrary, the owner, is fantastic and knowlegeable and the rest of the staff are great too. I make every effort to do all my drug store related shopping here. Thank you!

This pharmacy is one of the best in Victoria. Friendly staff who genuinely care about your health. The owner, Murray, is frequently around and approaches all customers with kindness and care. The store can be a bit messy, but if your main priority is medication and healthcare, you won't be disappointed.

Service at the front cashiers were horrible! Clearly they didn't want to be there! I wouldn't either if I was that age! Especially the brown hair man! Wish I got his name.
Always great service at the pharmacy and beauty area though!
