Sidesaddle Bike Shop

This review is long overdue. So to Andrea and her wonderful Side Saddle Team…. Sorry it took me so long.

This gem of a store is my favourite bike shop in Vancouver. They have it all—expert knowledge, unique bikes, great service, refreshing honesty and true care.

I have purchased many new bikes and had a custom bike made in the past 3 years since the cycling bug bit me. And, I’ve visited, harassed and annoyed a ton of bike stores in the GVRD, Fraser Valley and Victoria.

Side Saddle is a unique, exceptional and deserving of your consideration and business.

I’ll definitely buy my next bike and accessories from Side Saddle.

I am so stoked about my new Ortlieb panniers from Sidesaddle. I ordered online and they were ready to pickup the next day! Amazing customer service from Andrea, she took the time to show how to attach the the bags to my rack, and explain the dos and don'ts all while preparing to close up shop. Will be back!

Absolutely enamoured.i just popped in to check out a bike shop and get my chain measured, and i feel like i walked out with a whole gang of new friends! Thanks again! Highly recommend coming here for the stellar service and everything else that makes your local bike store a nice place to be.

My roommate and i both experienced extremely bad service here and we are their neighbours! They fixed his bike wrong and it resulted in his chain seizing and him flying over his handle bars. When he brought it in they asked for his warranty papers proof and he said isnt my banged up body and smashed helmet enough. They were extremely rude to him about it and he is non confrontational. For me i wasn't able to make it to my appointment as I was out of town, i called the store about 8 times to reschedule my appointment and no one ever answered the phone. I went into the store to ask them to help me, I was being very calm and kind and the person working refused to help me, told me to go online and reschedule, and when i asked them to please help me I'm in the store she literally yelled in my face, and then said yelled at me “self filtering” as i put my ear buds in and left. I was not rude i simply left. Save yourself a terrible experience and go to dream cycles.

Have visited both Sidesaddle and their sister shop Flat Fix and am super happy to have purchased a bike from them! Andrea and Bernie were both friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to transfer parts from my old bike onto my new one. As someone who knows almost nothing about bikes I was grateful there were no pretentious airs, just staff who love bikes and getting people riding!

Be careful getting a tuneup at this establishment. I’ve had many friends who live in the neighbourhood have their bikes wrecked by them with the wrong parts or with bad service.

They push back when you question their work, rather than fixing their mistakes. We’ve had to reservice our bikes in other places instead.

They will gaslight this review and other reviews that speak negatively of them. This just shows what they’re all about. Being locally owned does not equal being good. Prioritize your bike and your safety, try any of the places on Broadway or some of the others in east van.

Ridiculous customer service here. I came into the bike shop in person to make an appointment for bike repair, not even expecting to get my bike repaired today. They told me to "go online". I asked why I can't make an appointment in the store? They should be able to control the appointments as they are the bike shop. Again they told me I can't make an appointment in person, and i have to go online. Terrible customer service honestly. I came in for help, and they basically told me to use the internet or go on google. Will definitely never come here again.
