(re: 12 night Portugal, Spain, &Malta cruise (14-26 Sept '23)
Richard: Just giving some feedback on our above Celebrity Apex cruise.
We had asked for a 2 day stay in Amsterdam before boarding our Apex cruise, at a hotel close to sailing port. The hotel was fine, and assured us that the cruise terminals were 10 min.away by taxi. We then arranged a 2: 15 taxi ride to cruise terminal from our hotel on day of departure (our checkin slot was #-3: 30 pm). Luckily, the taxi came 15 min.early, but was shocked to realize the ship sailed fromRotterdam, a1 1/2 hour mad dash to Rotterdam port. (We had never been Netherlands before, and thought Rotterdam was a berth at the Amsterdam port). It was a mad scramble panic drive to the Apex in Rotterdam, costing me 300 Euros fare. We barely made it, through heavy rush hour traffic ;red lites ; and pedestrians, and were the last to board.
We were steaming with anger, as we had asked Silkway specifically to hotel us near the Apex - NOT DONE!
Silkway failed to provide any connections from our Amsterdam hotel to a timely arrival to "Apex" in Rotterdam.
We missed safety demo, & on board welcom from Celebrity, and were amazed that we actually barely made the cruise on time. Silkway should have aided us in this critical connection.
Athens, our destination from the cruise, was to be a 1 night sleepover at the Blend Hotel. Again, Silkway provided no address for the hotel, and even the 90 Euro taxi ride had trouble locating it. The Blend Hotel (now called "BOB W. "), was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, (although remodelled). There was no receptionist after 6pm / street entrance required online check-in code from cell e-mail / baggage storeage required other cell-cactivated door release / actual suite also requires cell activated pass /room was freezing with no visible controls for A. C. /there was no phone in the room / (wake-up call impossible/) / no cleaning personnel any where to be found.
I think of the possible disaster of a cell phone failure (lost /no battery / Wi-fi power fail at hotel /elevator stuck /), totally relying on technology - no HUMAN contact or assistance.

We were stressed out and unhappy with our trip, and seriously consider not using Silkway in future travels.
At least we would expect a 300Euro reimbursement from our panic taxi ride to thre Apex in Rotterdam.

I bought my ticket here and when I got on the plane
The airline told us our names and then called the person who issued the tickets for us. She said it was not my responsibility and that you should pay again to buy an extra ticket. Another more senior employee asked us to do our best at the flight counter.strive for

The sales guy there is nice and helpful; however, the 2-day Seattle tour we joined wasn't good! There was no tour guy, the only guy was the driver. When we got to each place, he just told us what time we should be back to the gathering point. The tour guy didn't do any introduction about the tour or provide any service but we still need to give him USD15 tips per person per day. Very disappointed.

I bought tickets to hong kong and japan. Richard Huang is very helpful and provided good suggestions and alternatives. Very professional.

Poor & unprofessional customer service! Kept you waiting in the store for 1.5 hours for just checking airfare. But during this time, joking with colleagues (& picking up phone calls) without apology!

Very helpful travel agency! A lot of mixed reviews here but I used silkway as an english speaking white person and had a great experience. They helped me buy a JR rail pass same-day on a weekend. Very friendly staff, just make sure you are prepared to pay in cash!

Richard has been an amazing agent. He helped us organise the trip to Whitehorse, Yukon to see the Northern Lights! Will definitely go to Silkway again for future trips

The agent Richard was very helpful in sorting out our trip to Whitehorse swiftly, and we settled our hotel, air tickets and the local tour guide service within a couple of days. The queuing time was a bit long at the agency but it was worth the wait given how quick he could handle our request.

I went to this location on Saturday to buy last-minute Japan Hokuriku Arch Rail Pass and prepared it would be very busy. When I arrived there were three staffs serving customers and a few customers were sitting beside, apparently they were waiting to see the travel agents. I was trying to look for a sign whether to get a number, or stand in line to wait to see the agent but there wasn't. So I was simply standing in front of the counter to wait for the next available agent. When a female agent finished with her customers, she promptly acknowledged a couple who were standing in front of her. When I questioned where is the line, the travel agent said the couple were there before. So, I returned to stand in line and ended up I waited for over half an hour. During my wait, I was watching how the staffs were serving customers; I noticed only Richard H.was serving customers in a timely manner and was actually completing the sales. In addition, he was helping other staff members while serving his own customer. Richard was efficient, knew what the customer was looking for, with good knowledge in the market and was willing to answer customers' questions after office hours. I was able to pick up the JR pass sales order the next day at Richmond branch that was perfect. Otherwise I need to pay the regular price to purchase it upon arriving in Japan. After completing the JR pass transaction, Richard helped us to find 3 air tickets going to Asia. 5* review is for Richard, thank you!

DO NOT GO HERE!
Don’t waste your time! I went here to ask for a 3k flight and they didn’t talk to me for 5 minutes, while they didn’t have any customers! They don’t even ask you to wait or where to wait. It seems they only serve Chinese customers.
Read other reviews most people have the same experience. Find somewhere else.

We were ‘last-minute’ planning for Japan and weren’t in time to get JR passes via snail mail. We frantically looked for a local dealer with passes available and found Silkway. Within one day, we got our passes. They were so accommodating as two of us paid via e-transfer and one via credit card (in person) and one of us contacted them by phone and another person did the pickup.

Thanks to Yolanda for helping with the refund service. Her professionalism and enthusiasm made up for the mistakes of the previous staff, and I got a refund for my ticket.

Thank you again for her professional service and patient explanation.

On the day of registration, Ms. Li Yolanda knew that we were waiting for her, but she continued to pick up other guests and made us wait for 45 minutes before helping to book tickets. Because of convenience, I chose their White Horse Aurora Group. It's a pity that the service at Baima is also very poor. The so-called wooden houses are very simple, messy and dirty. Said that food can be ordered, but there is no chef to cook. There is no internet at the chalet and no WiFi provided. There is no service, and a tip of 40 per person is required. In summary, this travel agency is highly not recommended, nor is the White Horse Tour. I believe self-guided tours will be more fun and cost-effective.
