Very beautiful and peaceful deep mountain lakes, the colorful colors of autumn are like entering a fairyland, and the scenery along the way is infinitely beautiful.
We thought we were wrong as we drove up the road to Silver Lake. The path up seemed very deserted and a bit spooky. When we reached the top, we were greeted by the sign “Campsite full”. So straight to the day area and lunch first.
After a while the camp host came rushing up on his golf cart and we started talking. He said that because of the rain, many reservations weren't even taken into account and that there was plenty of space, so we should stay.
The lake itself was beautiful, but the road to it is wasn’t paved and many homeless people were camping alongside it. Some kept their areas tidy while many did not, so there was garbage piled in many areas.
Amazing time! Love this place for kayaking and camping locally with the family. Picturesque, calm and mesmerizing lake. Clean swimmable lake. Only issue is the Wasps that overrun the campsite and are nuisances.very persistent and certain sites really need some kind of deterrent. Otherwise a very pleasant trip
Almost, don't want to give this place a review since it's a bit of a well kept secret. The most beautiful man made camp ground I've ever stayed at. Huge lots, tons of privacy, and you get that wild camping feeling.
Follow the service road and you’ll arrive at a beautiful lake surrounded by enormous mountain faces with a river that flows into the lake. Service roads are decently well maintained some are hectic. Lots to explore here
Everything about the campsite at the Provincial Park was great except one fatal flaw. The scenery was majestic, the lake beautiful, crisp and clean, and the campsite perfect! We had a warm welcome by the ranger and everything was accessible.
The fatal flaw was that the toilets had no screens in the windows and hordes of flies made it near impossible to do one's business. At your own risk type of scary. But, other than that, it was really great.
Quiet little park. The water is ice cold. I would not suggest swimming here but it would be lovely for paddleboarding. Someone broke the window and stole stuff from a truck that was parked in the lot so be careful parks are not as safe as you think!
Spent the day at Silverlake beach, nice brease lots of famillies with they're kids, lots of spaces every where for a good time. July/2022 update: Back again on a hot sunny day we got there early and spent the day by the water, don't forget the bug spray a few moskito's during the evening, On the other side of the lake the road leading to Ross lake about 30 to 45 + min away the city is re-grating the road It will probably be shut down for anyone traveling to Ross lake in the next few weeks of August?
Sites are pretty close to one another, the toilets really need to be serviced and it is a smaller cold lake. The view was very nice, and there was a large open area for picnics. Not the best, not the worst. Great for a couple night stay, but not longer personally. Alot of people staying along the pullout along the drive to the park.many looked long term and possibly homeless. I felt safe in the park though.
Beautiful park about 20 minutes from downtown hope. Lots of fish in the lake but havnt had much luck catching any. Has a provincial camp site with about 20 sites and a boat launch. Water is always cold so it's good on a hot day.
Silver Lake is a gem. Absolutely stunning mountain backdrop and if the water is still, the reflections are killer. Well maintained, undeveloped park with lovely scenery and a variety of songbirds.
Stunning lake a short walk away from the parking lot. We went when it was slightly raining so it was pretty quiet. The road up is not easy but my compact car managed fine, going nice and slow.
Beautiful lake! The small campground is nice, and there's a good sized parking lot for day use. The beaches on that side are rocky, but nice. The huge sandy beach is across the lake, you can drive there and walk down the trail to get to it, or paddle across from the day area like we did. The views here are amazing! The water is pretty cold, but my kids still enjoyed swimming.
We kayaked on this lake in July 2019. The lake was a little small for our desire but it is in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. They do have a boat ramp. There was no day-use fee. You must drive several miles of dirt road to get there.
BEAUTIFUL place for CAMPING, but it's not FREE to stay overnight. They charge a nominal fee for the maintenance of Restrooms, collection of Garbage and recycling. Firewood is also available with the Ranger on duty. A good approaching road from FREEWAY to SILVER LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK. The CAMPING spots are numbered and on the basis of first come first. You can enjoy the picnic, BBQ and swimming without any charge for day time only.
Well looked after campsite. No beach but beautiful lake and surrounding area. Hiking and rock climbing close by. Wish the trail along the lake was better maintained but still an enjoyable place to spend the night or even just the day.
Lovely little spot with a small number of large sites. Lake is great for kayaking. Small dog friendly area with limited beach. The main beach is not dog friendly but is spacious
Decided to do a bit of an unscheduled trip up Silver Lake Road to do some photography for City Sidewalk Strategy & Marketing and was pleasantly surprised when we came upon Silver Lake. Stopping the Jeep on the east side of the lake we walked down to a sandy section of the shore. Our dogs immediately started playing in the crystal clear water and swimming around chasing dragonflies. Shortly after arriving we noticed a family of three river otter playing on a submerged but protruding log. They were having as much, or more, fun as our two pit bulls. The road was fantastic and very accessible to almost any but the lowest 2WD vehicle. The drive is a bit tedious but the lake is worth it for sure.
