Updated 2023: 5 years later we once again had a good experience with SMG for our mortgage renewal. A smooth and stress-free experience and we're happy with the result!

This is the second time we've used SMG to re-finance and once again the experience was enjoyable, seamless and efficient. Sara was great to deal with and handled any of our questions quickly and pleasantly. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Silverman mortgage group is an amazing place to get a mortgage. We worked closely with Kelly and Amanda and they were so helpful in getting us the right product. I had the pleasure of working with Silverman Mortgage Group. I am a first time home owner and my mortgage broker Kelly did a fantastic job explaining everything to me and worked really hard to find the best possible mortgage rate. She was patient and knowledgeable with answering every question (there were lots) and walked me through every step till completion. I highly suggest using Silverman Mortgage Group, they will take very good care of you.

I had a mediocre experience with Silverman. Their responsiveness was subpar, they usually took several days to respond and were very difficult to get on the phone. It also felt like they dragged out the process of finalizing the mortgage, and there was a document that we needed that they kind of just left for us to try to figure out how to get, rather than taking the initiative to get it resolved. This caused a bunch of extra time and some anxiety on our part. In future I would look for someone with better customer service.

My partner and I used Silverman Mortgage Group as first time home buyers. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend them to all of our friends and family members. Their online portal makes submitting documents easy. You are also able to see all of your offers online and play around with mortgage numbers. Their communication was excellent as they were available around the clock to answer all of our questions. I will be using them again in the future.

They are so great to work with. Intentional, quick and smart. I trust them and really appreciate their updates and follow through.

We're so glad we decided to go with Zack, Amanda and Kelly at Silverman Group. They were always accessible and took the time to explain everything clearly and concisely. They made sure we were taken care of every step of the way, had useful tools to help us understand our options, and were on the ball even when we were dealing with tight deadlines and stressful time constraints. We're very happy with the mortgage we got, and all the hard work they put in to make it possible.

Let me preface all of this by letting you know I am a first time home buyer with zero experience. None. I know nothing, and checked with the brokerage that this would not be a problem, giving them an out if they preferred to deal in bigger real estate. I was assured they loved to work with first time buyers. I submitted my info and was prequalified. I was thrilled.
The next step in the process is scheduling a call with your underwriter. The appointment came and went, Sara Brown never called. I called the office asking to change underwriters, stating this first impression had left me feeling like my time wasn't important. I was assured that a glitch in the computer system hadn't properly scheduled me. We arranged a repeat call. In the meantime I reached out to a second broker, half because I still felt uneasy that someone dealing with my 600k couldn't show up to our FIRST call, and half because I'd been told brokers are something you can "shop around" for. He spent the majority of our call reinstating my confidence in the SIlverman team, that he knew Zach personally & that I would be treated well. He assured me that the numbers were good. I took this as a sign that it was safe to start looking at properties.
I found a perfect condo. It was the only place my partner and I agreed on. Ever. Our offer was accepted. We had 9 days to clear subjects. I was assured this is ample time. Day 6, Sara contacted me letting me know that the lender would like my LOC paid down. She couldn't give me a number, but said she would get back to me. Day 7: crickets. Day 8: I had to reach out to her and finally got a number. Day 9: subject removal. The lender was MIA to sign our contract. Sara said she'd let me know by 6pm. Nothing. We were forced to ask for an extension. Finally at 9: 30pm, she TEXTS me that nothing was done. Extension day comes, no word from the lender and very little communication from Sara, leaving my realtor and I scrambling to figure out what was happening. I was told we had to ask for ANOTHER extension. I reached out to Zach Silverman, and told him I would prefer not to deal with Sara any longer as the communication was severely lacking. He obliged.
Extension day 2: Seller is annoyed. I finally get a contract, 6h before deadline & it comes with stipulations that my credit cards be paid off in addition to paying my LOC. Maybe this is the assumption in every deal, but at NO point was that communicated to me. So, in the final hours of our SECOND extension, I now need 22k (LOC and CC). I'm not wealthy and that isn't chump change- esp.in 4 weeks. I expressed my concern that this wasn't brought to my attention sooner, to which I was made to feel as though I wasn't being honest. I kept all emails between the team and I, and I assure you, this was new news. Their only suggestion was to "ask someone to gift you the money", like asking for THOUSANDS of dollars is acceptable. I'm not in the business of wasting time, and never would it have gone this far if I had been told from jump the amount of money I would need on hand.
I have never felt more unimportant, devalued or dismissed as a person. I left feeling embarrassed, and so disgusted with the way I was treated by this brokerage. I have nothing but negative feelings towards the whole process and still don't have a home to show for it. In a marker where homes sell themselves, find a brokerage who values your time and the hard work it takes to save a down payment in this market. I would literally recommend anyone but Silverman Mortgage group.

I love this mortgage group. They strive to make your mortgage experience as easy as possible on the client. They never leave you in the dark about anything. The communication is next to none I have experienced. I would tell everyone to go see these guys for all their mortgage/financial needs!

Would never use this circus again. Sara Brown is the most incompetent underwriter in the business. Delayed timelines, zero communication and lack of knowledge cost the purchase of a home. How they are rated 5 stars is beyond me. Sarah missed her deadlines on several occasions, simple things like advising she would call by 6pm only to receive a text message at 930pm after having to reach out to her for an answer. I can’t beg people enough to choose anyone else other than this group, beyond disgusted at how they handle their clients. If you like feeling like a low priority and kept in the dark while you are going through this process then by all means bring your popcorn to this embarrassment of a company.

I have been trying to get removed from these people's mailing list for 3 years with zero success. I've called and emailed about four times each and have been 'assured' that they would not email or mail me, but alas. I've had about 10 contacts and I'm over it. I appreciated their service, but I wanted contact to stop. NEVER have I had a business continue to hound me. I really don't like it.
