Tried out the mountain biking in the summer. I dropped a star because the bike hire was on the expensive side. If you can bring your own bike it's a five star. For visitors from the UK, What they call a green route is probably slightly less technical than our average blue. With their blues being more or less the same as ours. If you're in any doubt just ask because the staff are super helpful and definitely know what they are talking about.
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the customer service policies here. While I understand that refunds due to weather conditions may not be possible, I encountered an entirely different issue that left me extremely disappointed.
After patiently waiting in line for a staggering two hours for the lift to re-open, my party and I were denied access to the lift simply because we were not racers. This information was only communicated to us when we reached the front of the line, leaving us frustrated and confused.
To further compound our disappointment, when we approached the desk to express our concerns, we were informed that this rule had been implemented a mere two minutes after we purchased our day passes. This lack of transparency and the failure to notify us in a timely manner is highly unprofessional.
Despite these circumstances, we were not offered any form of monetary reimbursement for the tickets we had purchased. This lack of compensation for our wasted time and inability to enjoy the park is deeply unsatisfactory.
I strongly urge you to reevaluate your customer service policies. Clear communication and fair treatment of customers should be a priority. It is essential that steps are taken to rectify this situation and ensure that other riders do not encounter similar disappointments in the future.
Camped up here for the first time this year. Despite the more "parking lot" style of camping. The camp ground was quiet and peaceful the grounds keepers were always near by to answer questions and of course prime location to get to the lifts.
Ss is always a great time but camping here really brought it up a notch in my books.
Went here for our first bike park experience with kids (15 and12), and had a blast. Loved the flow trails, great place to build up your jumping skills in a safe way.
Such a great little resort in the high elevation. It’s cooler in summer for recreating and the winters are magic with great fun skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking and Nordic trails. The small village offers a quaint vibe to enjoy. It’s not crowded and the snow is like champagne powder.
I’m an older intermediate skier. We came to SilverStar this year with our kids and grandkids ages 2,7 and 9. We had the best time of our life! The slopes are quite varied for all skill levels and the Terrain Park amazing for the littles. Food in town is quite limited so be sure you stock up in Vernon in the way in.
What to say, my home mountain for winter activities. I'm biased! Consistently great snow conditions, short lines at the lifts, if at all (holidays & big powder days excepted). Terrain options from beginner to advanced & even a bit of gnar. Large network of Nordic trails. Mountain biking in the summer.
Great food, the cocktails were a delight. Our server was the bar manager, Michale. Sorry if I misspelled your name. Super great lad. I felt very comfortable there. The price was very reasonable. Would go again.
We went to the village being lured by the promising Dutch bakery. Quite a climb with many hair pin switchback and a road poorly maintained (clearly a VSA issue, not the resort). I had with me my disabled daughter with reduced mobility and we looked for a handicap parking spot. The half of last one available because the others were taken by cars that didn't have the permit and one took 1 and 1/2 stall hence what was left was 1/2 a stall. We parked there with a little worry half my truck was parked where it should not. In comparison to other ski village, Silverstar is small. The directory of shops is big but when on site, all is cramped. We found the bakery and its popularity was ahead of us. The walk-in closet size bakery had over 10,000 people or it seemed. Not disappointed. Probably the best baking goods I have had in this province. I left the place regretting we lived so far from it. I'd return often if I could.
Very nice and also very large ski area. You can ski here at any level, there are routes for everyone. Great snow quality even at the end of the season.
This ski hill is amazing I love skiing here and the trail are amazing there is such a large variety of different runs too. I would highly recommend skiing here.
Had an amazing spring skiing trip to Silverstar March 2023. The firelight lodge (condo style) was very good and being located next to the ice skating, tube town and ski in/ out, it was ideal. All runs were really fun and well groomed and lift lines moved fast. Very friendly staff. Red Antler was a nice spot to eat and the bugaboo bakery cannot be beat for panini/ baked goods. Highly recommend. Groceries are not cheap at the hill (one store) so stock up if possible but know its there for misc.
