With a few hours to spare on my last day in Vancouver I turned up here late one weekday afternoon to get a bike and gear for a quick run up to Stanley Park.
Within 10 minutes I was signed up, kitted out, and on my way, with a big discount on the usual daily rate.
The bike was basic (calliper breaks, no suspension) but in good shape and fine for a run on the dedicated bike lanes across town to the waterfront, and then a lap of Stanley Park, and back down the other end of town.
Highly recommended if you’re after a cheap, quick hire for a few hours, or a few days riding around this lovely city.

I was just a girl on her way to work without a bike lock. Simon helped me with whatever I had in my pocket to secure my bike! Wow!

Next time I came to the shop, Simon doubled down. This man helped me purchase a high quality bike at a reasonable price. I trust this place and all the hard workers there as well!

Very good service, chain snapped at the beginning of the week, changed a masterlink. Mechanic said the chain was in good condition, only to snap again 4 days later. Went back and they were very kind, they put a new chain on it, I only had to pay for the chain. Definitely a good bike store.

They lie! The owner lies and loves to lie. I wish Tody (the number 1 mechanic) worked somewhere else!
Never rent or buy a bike from Simon! Unless you have a fetish for used car salesmen.

Great! We rented 4 bicycles and a bicycle cart where our 2 girls aged 3 and 1 sat next to each other (and which you can also use as a buggy). Good price-quality ratio and excellent service!

After going to many bike shops around Vancouver over the last 40 years this is the most outstanding bike shop I have ever visited, great service, huge selection, friendly honest staff, great prices. What more could you want.

Not just bike repairs!
I’ve been travelling around Canada for some time all the way from Australia. I use a manual wheelchair with a fancy motorised attachment. The brakes on my motorised attachment shares similar brakes/characteristics of a high end mountain bike and have been slowly starting to fail throughout my many rough km’s. I rolled past today and saw repairs sign out the front and randomly called in to ask if they could help! Simon of course said it wasn’t a problem for his “macgyver” mechanic. He dropped everything to assist and my brakes are now better than when I purchased the device! I can’t thank Simon and “Macgyver” enough! Tackling something that isn’t their normal to keep me rolling (and now stopping) for the rest of my trip in Canada!

Went in today with a problem and they went the extra mile to fix it for me on the spot - really helpful and friendly staff! Small shop but it has lots of stock crammed in there, including MTB gear.

Super friendly service and briefing on the bikes and locks. Did a nice bike tour with the borrowed bikes and were happy about the good bikes compared to the rental bikes at the rental stations.

I will not shop for bike and parts anywhere else, Simon is very honest not greedy, he fixed my bike with no cost even though I did not bought my Specialize from them. Worth all the travelling from Richmond to downtown.

Simon from Simon's Bike Shop is a very disagreeable fellow. He is unprofessional, unfriendly and borderline verbally abusive. I am baffled how come he's still in business.

Mechanics are pretty good but the clerk, or I dont know if it's the owner? !? ! What a bad service. I would not recommend that shop just because of this.

Wow there's lots of stuff packed in a little shop, I could spend all day there, great prices and knowledgeable staff.

My sons bike was vandalized. (Cut break lines.broken spokes) The guys at Simon's bike shop repaired it as good as new. They were quick, efficient and not costly. 100% recommend awesome work.and many thanks for getting his bike back on the trails! Very happy we went to Simon's!

If I need my bikes serviced, I never think of anyone else. Simon is always available with quickest turnaround in Vancouver. Why go anywhere else? #1 for Value and service.

Best bike shop on the mainland. Large inventory. Staff know the products, know what they are doing, and won’t hesitate to get a rep on the phone if you need more info.
Great sales AND great mechanics.

Didn’t even have a chance to shop here, I went to the door, saw that the person behind the counter wasn’t wearing a mask and left. It’s unfortunate because I wanted to give another local bike shop some of my business, but I’m not vaccinated and didn’t feel comfortable going in. Maybe they’re good maybe they aren’t, so three stars seems about right.

Simon's is the best bike shop in town. His customer service beats out anyone in the city. I can't say enough great things about this shop. Been here several times over the last 2 years from buying a bike to asking for help putting a bike together. Simon will always take care of you. What more can you ask for.

I went there for brake cable wire. I was treated really bad. The owner or someone at the front talked to me so bad. On top of that, they charged me 16$ for the wire cable of just one brake. I am never going back there.

Great service. Bought my rocky instinct bud edition here in 2020.
I busted my brake lever on my rocky mtn instinct and due to pandemic supply issues, it was impossible to find a replacement part. I eventually bought one from a shop online in Alberta, and Simons threw it on for me no problem quick and easy. Much appreciated.

Bought my Specialized Status there a few months back, when no one else had any stock. Love the bike, its does everything I would want it to! And when I need a service, just as he (Simon) said, the service was free (just had to pay for parts).

What a busy place mid day! Looks like they do a lot of bike rentals on the heart of downtown. Many nice bikes on display and staff seem helpful. Definitely tourist friendly and foot traffic focused.i found it tricky to park, partly due to shortage of street and meters being overhauled. Some very flashy mountain bikes on the floor if you want something unique. Worth a look.

My husband and I bought our bikes recently from Simon's. Big thank you to Mel who was so patient with us. We didn't know much about bikes but Mel was there to answer all our questions and help us decide which one we wanted. The whole team at Simon's genuinely seems like they want you to have a great experience riding your bike. We love ours, thank you team!

We were blown away by the service at this bike shop last week. Simon helped us with getting our 9 year old her bday bike! She’s overjoyed with her new Specialized bike! Thank you again for the great service!

I am super happy with the service i got, Toby was able to help me with a problem i had on my bike that countless people were unable to. Service was great, prices were more then reasonable and time of repair was incredible. Thanks guys I'm sure we'll see each other soon enough.

Haunted by a persistent creaking noise after replacing my bottom bracket at another store, I came to Simon's to get my bike checked out. The guys here got rid of my creak within 5 mins. 10/10 would come again for all my biking needs

This remains the best bike shop in Vancouver for like, I dunno, 10 years running? Seriously they do good work here, fast, and very very reasonable process.honestly it's spoiled me for other shops.

The front desk person sometimes could be nice enough and most other times he rushes you, zero patience for questions. Could improve on a consistent customer service. Also, I waited without being helped or acknowledged while the owner is on the phone doing his realtor related business arrangements.

Great store! Owner has a great sense of humour. Awesome selection of items and mechanics who work hard to keep your bike running smooth.

Great customer service, would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and anybody w a bike in the Yaletown area. I had a true catered to experience as a customer even though I can in last minute. Would def possibly name my future son Simon.

Staff is anti maskers and too busy to give any relatively moderate level of customer support. It's a joke. They are well supplied and okay prices. But don't be shocked if they spend the entire time of your visit having personal phone calls.

Simon and his team are amazing. From walking through the door the customer service was exceptional! Everyone in the store was wearing their COVID-19 protective masks and hand sanitizer available. The service that Simon provides is top notch! Makes you feel like a star! His bike mechanics are very knowledgeable and friendly answering any question you may. 5! Thanks for the Kenevo!

They're quick when it comes to tune ups and the price is good! They're pretty lax, but helpful. The guy who tuned up my bike helped alter my chain a little as well so that it fits the bike better, which was awesome. Recommend:)

Had an Italian BB that needed the threads chased. Toby was only one in the city that I could find to do this.

I love this shop. I went there based on the reviews, to buy a new saddle and they are the real deal. I had previously been to two other shops in Vancouver and my bike was still not fitting me properly. The mechanic at Simon's, Rod (Rodney the Great!) was the first mechanic to really see what was the problem-my handle bars were incorrectly placed and too wide. He cut them down to the perfect width, then he turned the bars so they fit my hands correctly. The owner Simon, proposed the perfect saddle for my body, and then Rod took the time, after replacing the old saddle with the new one, to raise the saddle then move it a little forward, and tweak it back a bit-it was fantastic to work with someone who really cares and is passionate and professional with the work they do, and the saddle feels great. Simon, was super as well, he was friendly and knew who I was when I walked in his store, as I had phoned prior. The bonus was I bought a pair of bike gloves that have gel padding, at 1/4 the price and they fit perfect. If I could, I would give them 10 stars **********

I had a great experience with this shop, esp Toby.

The prices all seemed normal or better than normal.in July 2020 I wanted better wheels and needed a crankset for a Fixed/Single Speed, and it took about 15 tries before I found a shop with stock on hand. Toby found an RD2 crankset and a velocity deep v rear with a gran comp hub he had built, cracked some jokes, and had me rolling that afternoon. Later came back for the matching deep v front, and went with a disc hub at toby's suggestion. The wheels are smmoooth and the crankset is holding up to all the rain.ps Recently I moved to North Van and am really glad for the disc front option.rim brakes are barbaric in NV,

Great selection of Specialized and Rocky Mountain bikes, and any accessories you could want/need. The owner is super personable, friendly and helpful. Picked up a Specialized Riprock 20” for my daughter, with Simon’s advice, and couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!
