Skimmerhorn Inn

Well this place has gone downhill since new owners took over.the garbage bin is overflowing with garbage and the place is unkempt and untidy. The people working there don't understand English replying 'i don't speak English". They let derelicts sleep in the parking lot in their vehicles even tho they evicted them for reasons necessary. To top it off they charge over a thousand dollars a month! They're only the business owners in the business for the money obviously they have no idea how to satisfy customers and provide a hospitable and comfortable stay. It's convenient for being on the highway but not so when it's noisy with traffic and the five minutes location to town is suffice.

The size of the room was wonderful but the bed was warped and hard. The pillows were thin and when we put out the placard for requesting room service, it was ignored. The placard was put back into our room but we didn't even receive fresh towels. We were there for three nights! We had random people knocking on our door late at night and it was noisy. Not once did we get fresh towels or a room made up even when requested. Very disappointed!

This place is completely over priced. We ended up here when everything else in the area was full. Rooms should be $40 not $150 + taxes per night. Little or no basic room maintenance takes place here, and housekeeping is poor. Kitchenette is poorly equipped. Furniture is completely worn out and mattresses are over due for replacement. Lots of noise from upstairs neighbours, the highway and the parking lot. Only good thing I can say is the bed sheets and towels are fairly new and were clean. Wouldn't stay here again.

Good place to stay and the price is decent. I would stay here again. No problems. Towels folded all fancy.
Not a luxury hotel but when you are on the road a good stop over. The lady at the desk was really nice and helpful. Answered all my questions with a smile, even though she had already given me the info. I was super tired and it was a good stop.

Was disappointed no pool where the site said there was one. (site should state its under repairs.) Also the floors could use a good washing. Cosy atmosphere. Big backyard space with lots of space for kids to play, even has a bbq pit and lots of room for your pups to run. (unless you have Karen pups). Love that it has a kitchenette for you regardless of staying a night or longer. Nice walk to a fruit stand up the road and a quaint little shop across the street. Would have been sweet if the pool was up and running.

Looks a little run down on the outside but very nice on the inside. Front desk lady was very kind and the suite had TONS of amenities, lots of extra towels, soap, coffee etc. Very glad we chose this

We booked through a pet friendly site (Bring Fido). Was listed as cat and dog friendly, but upon arriving it's under new ownership, and cats are no longer allowed (booking website has updated their listing). Owner was accommodating and we made assurances our cats were very well behaved.
Rooms are quite dated (new owner only took over a few months ago), so time will tell what gets renovated.

It is really nice place to stay for your Vacation in Creston BC!
Room are nice and have Kitchen for you. Also if you have pet with you, they have back yard for your pet and for kids.the new Owner was so nice and cool.

Our stay at the Skimmerhorn was short but good. The rooms are a little dated but they are clean and the staff was nice enough to go find some wood forks because we didn't get any from the restaurant.

We stay here anytime we come to Creston. Great staff, clean rooms. The only downside is the outdoor pool is closed down

The Inn was ok overall. There were some issues we had. I found that everything smelled a bit like cigarette smoke regardless that there's a no smoking sign on the door. The microwave is too high and it didn't spin. The food I warmed in there was hot on the bottom and freezing on the top.
The bathroom door doesn't close properly. The sides of the bathtub are too tall, my mom needed help getting both in and out of the tub. The area between the concrete outside and the actual floor into the building needs to be fixed as well. My mom almost fell on her face the first day there. Thankfully I was able to catch her in time. Definitely accessibility issues. My mom has RA and she's very short so the room was hard for her to deal with - microwave is way too high.
The company definitely expects you to clean the room yourself ie the sign over the kitchen counter and the towels on the bathroom counter.
However the people who worked there seem very nice and understanding when we needed to cut our trip short. My dog loved the back area though!

We stopped at the last minute with no reservation. Sam (host & new owner) was very kind and helpful. Service was great, rooms were immaculate with all new bedding, pillows and towels. Beds were comfy. Being an older motel you can hear the water running in adjacent rooms, but that was all we heard. Location is so easy to find being directly off of the highway. There is a great outdoor area with bbq facility, picnic table, fire pit and small playhouse. Would definitely stay again, especially with the fully supplied kitchenette.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, which was very comfortable and relaxing.
I ended up with covid 4 days later, so it was likely I got it from the room, but I can't blame the management of the hotel for that, in all fairness.
