Never had a bad experience in the past dining in, but I ordered a pick up order, a 70$ meal for my family, and when I got there they realized they gave my food to the wrong person. They hardly apologized, offered nothing to amend the problem, they then rushed to slap together the most bland and pathetic meal I've ever seen. Dry lumpy mashed potatoes, dry meat. And to top it all off, the manager seemed annoyed at me they had to remake my large order.
Definitely won't order take-out ever again.

The service could use some improvements. Everyone always seems so inconvenienced.but we manage to get a decent meal.

Took our kids out for dinner. The service was amazing and so was the food!
We will be returning again

The food served to us was practically un edible- by definition a grease filled disaster. So much butter on just the toast alone that it was like a wet sponge- sqeezed it and it dripped out. Tried to rinse my mouth out with the drink I ordered. 10 min after I left I still taste nothing but grease. Will not be back unfortunately.

I have been many times and usually leave happy. The past 3 times I have waited over an hour to receive our bill (even after asking for it). Never got a refill of coffee and overall just disappointed. Today was Mothers Day so I expected to have delays but 2.5 hours for a quick brunch was excessive.

The cook was having a good time and it really has fun, small World, Love authentic heart felt communication.her job. She was great to talk about old times in Nanaimo here and love her spirit. Had a great steak sandwich. Love coming here

Staff is super friendly and fun. The serverl went out of her way to make us feel well taken care of.

Staff was very accommodating when a large group of us came to eat after a hockey tournament game, hard to do at some places with no warning. Lunch menu was good and the staff was quick and friendly dealing with our large orders.

Super dirty! Underneath the tables are very dirty especially along the wall side. Flooring super dirty, carpets are absolutely disgusting, need a steam clean, tiles need a good scrub, (get a brush, with handle and use pink power solution from bastions and scrub those tiles) Blinds on windows absolutely disgusting, not what I want to look at while eating.
Vents on ceiling dirty, bathrooms are dirty, honestly I was a little repulsed by how dirty the restaurant is when I actually looked around. I only hoped the kitchen is clean, meal was 3/5

Hopefully they will realize it or start caring and hire someone to do deep cleaning.

After shopping at Rona, we decided to have lunch here. Being a weekend, it was really busy. They were offering seating in the bar area, to help with the spacing. Food was served quickly though.
My order was misheard and I received something different. The staff member was apologetic and, after I turned down waiting for the correct order, I was comp'ed one of my dishes.

The restaurant is very clean and bright inside. The food, service and prices were very good.
I'll definitely be returning.

A cup of cheap Lipton tea with luke warm water is $4.00.really?
Place is dirty and run-down. Also NO gluten free selections ie: bread or bun.

We went for late breakfast and the restaurant was very busy, so I was surprised how quickly we were served and once we ordered the food arrived very soon after. The table wasn't set completely, missing salt shaker and cream for coffee, but the server quickly rectified. Will definitely be back, but request a seat away from the fish tanks, nothing wrong with them, just a personal preference.

Wow! The service & food was excellent, I had the clubhouse sandwich with fries & gravy. The sandwich was two hander & very tasty. The best deal I've seen since the last time I ate here. Kudos to the waitress & the cooks.

We ate at the Sharkey’s side. Our server Matt was awesome and the wings are the best in town!

Service was great but the food was average. If you get ham with your breakfast I noticed it was so thin it wasn't even worth adding it to your breakfast. It was your average breakfast but nothing to rave about.

My last Smitty's visit was terrible and I was hesitant to try it again but wanted to make everyone happy with dinner that night. My son always likes fishNchips and the fish pieces were good size, and nice and meaty.
My dish was very warm and tasted good with a good nice cold draft beer. This location, and I have to admit it surprised me. I will go again with my family.
Staff were nice and polite.

Slowest service ever. The place is disgusting, if you are going to have fish on display then the tank should be clean. I made the mistake of looking up at the air vents and they were filthy beyond belief. Said we needed one more minute to make a decision waited 30 minutes for the waitress to come back. Considering how long we waited for the food it should have been hot when it arrived, needed to send the waitress fact for butter and milk and jam. The food was even colder by the time we got butter for the toast.

My wife and I often get wings and drinks here. Tonight Anthony helped me get my order through right at closing time. Awesome customer service man, very accommodating, really appreciate it. Definitely recommend to family and friends.

Got our orders wrong, we waited a long time between things, and the hollandaise sauce I would avoid all together. We've been to other locations but this one wasn't great.

Service was fine, food was terrible. Had the veal cutlet which was all of 1/4 inch thick and flavorless along side of the steamed vegetables which were small portion and flavorless also.

I had a horrible experience last time my girlfriend and I ate there. They are under staffed and the service was terrible. The food was good.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while on the highway. 1pm Sunday lunch peak time. We were seated right away and the hostess offered us a beverages immediately. Breakfast or lunch menus were provided. They have a separate area designated as a lounge and open late on Friday nights till 9 p.m. Service is excellent.

Roast Beef.beef dip sliced roast not oven roast as implied by menu.
Vegetables.frozen
Mashed potatoes.dry.
Cost 18 dollars.

Like any chain, as to be expected; Had eggs benny, the hollandaise was from a mix. Meat skillet sat underneath the heat lamp too long, cheese looked gross and unappetizing. Server rather inattentive.

I have been there twice. The service was excellent! Great menu. I had the nachos and there was lots on my plate. Second time I had the Philly Steak and cheese sub with soup. It was delicious and filling. All in all a great place for dinner or to sit and watch the game!

Great service, sometimes I the fish is over cooked, me and my grandma go once in a while, and she has no teeth, so it's hard for her to chew it regardless, but when it's crunchy it's hopeless, however if we are feeling comfortable enough we will send it back, otherwise I just crush it for her

We had lunch there today.we always order the same things.today.my husband ordered 2 orders of fries with his burger.he got 1.finished meal and FINALLY THE SECOND ORDER CAME. I HAD THE SPINACH DIP.not really hot so i asked the server to please micowave it for an extra minute.it came back BURNED. We showed the girl when we paid out tab.there were chunks of burnt cheese.she saw it.apoligized.not her problem.our server deanna couldnt be bothered to correct the order.she sent another server when we paid our bill.poor service.sad as we really liked the food there.as there are few good places to eat in nanaimo.

One day I ordered a slice of apple pie to go.they gave me the slice of apple pie solid frozen. I was expecting it heated.wow, is this how u usually serve apple for for dessert to customers? Solid frozen?

This location does not know what a Skillet is! Basically the put scrambled eggs on top of hash browns into a bowl, add the bacon etc on top. None if it is and call that a skillett. None of the food is cooked together.

The food and service were both good. I enjoyed the Eggs Benny and my husband's bacon and eggs were exactly as he ordered them.

2 eggs poached med was perfect, as were the pancakes and shredded hash browns. It was just the sausages that get a tough skin on them the way they are cooked. I'll probably go with the bacon next time.

Fabulous fast service. Right on the highway. Great food. Friendly staff. Seems like many regulars eat there, always a good sign.

Great family place. I would have given 5 stars but I think the menu needs a revamp and prices are a little high for what you get.

Not happy that they will not substitute for those of us with pork alergies. Why they are so strict about it, i dont understand. I will take my family and friends to another place that will treat us better!

Yaaay Lyle! My large extended family and myself are SO GLAD to hear you have re-instituted your Early Riser Morning Special again! It is so nice that you actually listened to your customer's desires! Way to go Lyle! You are the best! To be honest we all so missed coming in for breakfast on Saturday mornings because if truth be told we all enjoyed your wonderful hash browns, basted eggs and of course the delightful funny and friendly staff who work so hard to make sure we are well served. We will be back!

Stood there for almost 10 minutes, and we we're told several times it would be just a minute. Twice by the same server

Staff is friendly enough. But food was terrible. Asked for the denver omlette. There was maybe 4 microscopic pieces of green pepper in the whole thing. Onions an tomatoes was all I found in it and my partner's plate was the same. The omlette was greasy as well. For nearly $ 40.00
I won't be back.

Great food, great staff and of course great coffee. Cant forget about the fish tank. Always something I like seeing since I came here as a kid

Smitty's is known for its pancakes. Someone forgot to tell the cook.pancakes were flat and tasteless.

This place uses to be good. Haven't been here in about 8 years and my breakfast was revolting. The sausages I couldn't cut through them. Or even chew it for that matter. The eggs where over cooked bacon and ham was cold as with the toast. The sever was nice though I did manage to get two cups of coffee and she just charged me for the fruit coffee and toast. Should of been free it was a waist of my time and I left hungry. Don't think I'll be returning to this location again.

Staff was friendly and courteous without being obtrusive. Prices were good the portion and quality was above standard. Food was prompt and correct with concerns met. Would recommend and go back again

Every Friday starting at 4: 30 pm. Smitty's lounge has a wings and beer night for $15.00. One order of wings and what ever is on tap. Great deal! My wife and I have been going there on and off for three years. Sooo many different flavors for wings. Fantastic manager and owner.

Good meals and big servings. Kids eat free Monday evenings which is great. Last 2 times we visited wasn't happy with staff or service

Foods good and good size portions. Lots of parking. Slow service especially when you want to pay and leave.

The staff are amazing. I wish I would have done this sooner. The 2 ladies were working the morning shift that would have qualified us for the early riser special if we would have wanted it. We are not morning people but both ladies started our day on the right foot.

My kids are burgers as big as their heads. The waitresses were cheerful and nice and the cost was not bad.

I had a most delicious meal last night! One of their time limited specials! I forget the whole name, but the last two words were “con pollo”. It was a penne pasta with grilled chicken, fresh mushrooms, tomato, and broccoli tossed in Alfredo sauce! Grated cheese on top! Wow! I’m drooling just thinking about it! It was SO good that I wish they would keep it on their menu as a regular feature!

Wasn't very good. Probs a one off as Smittys is usually good. Dont order the nachos from here tho. Not yummy. Service was ok. Nothing super bad or good

Waitress took orders of 2 tables first who arrived 10 mins after us. And of course our food arrived later. It was over 30 mins for a basic plate. It wasn't even busy, I think they forgot to put our order in. The foof was par.
