A Asian girl served me and sneezed behind the counter without a mask. Bagels tasted average, no surprise. Hopefully, the staff can care more about hygiene. $1.75/ea.

Ordered delivery and they forgot my coffee, got a refund so its fine but no caffeine so it's a lil rough. The latke was great and the chive and garlic cream cheese is very tasty. I also got a potato knish and I feel like it should have been warmed up a little so I wasn't eating cold mashed potatoes, that was disappointing. Napkins in the bag with the takeout would have been very appreciated too, the schmear is schmearing.

The one time I went I saw the manager? Owner? Berate the employee infront of customers for seemingly very minor "problems" that I dont think they can control. It was probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever witnessed. I hope they're treated way better regularly than what I saw that day.

Haven’t been here in years. It’s gone downhill. Don’t @me Solly. You can’t apologize away poor quality. Never coming back.

Sour meat y'all! A bad dinner from somewhere else last night and now these guys serve sour meat. Fabulous. Looked at reviews to see if this was ever mentioned and I don't see it so maybe this is a one off, even though they were asked if it was fresh! I don't blame the staff after reading the responses from the owner on unfavourable reviews! What an immature waste of skin she is! Goodness me, you have got to be kidding. I'm out and SIEGEL'S is the ONLY WAY TO GO! Look below for a nasty response from the owner and believe her when she shows you who she is as she has attacked many reviewers online, and I frankly cannot believe my eyes. WOW

Best bagels in Vancouver. Solly's bagels have a few stores in Vancouver and their bagels are the best in my humble opinion. I love their sesame seed bagels. In my family there are other bagels we enjoy. My wife loves the whole wheat and mish mush bagels. They also have cinnamon buns that are delicious. But for me the best thing are the bagels. They are really expensive and I don't get them all the time because of the price but when I do I enjoy them to the fullest. Sometimes I eat a couple before I get home. I recommend Solly's for their bagels.

I'm regularly challenged whether to direct my bagel addiction to Solly's or Siegel's.

The latter's dough is slightly sweeter and chewier which I like; their Montreal Smoked meat is heavenly; and their many rogelech fillings are delish. Unfortunately for me, their 'Everything On It' version of a fully loaded bagel (which is my preferred type) includes caraway seeds, the taste of which I find slightly off-putting.

On the other hand, Solly's 'Mishmash' version doesn't have caraway seeds [bless you]; all their bagels' seed toppings are more generous; they too have excellent pastries (ie.carrot cake, lemon bundt, and poppy seed cookies to name a few), and their cinnamon buns in particular are to die for.

Vancouver is lucky to have authentic yummy bagel options. Enjoy!

I ordered the Reuben sandwich and apple strudel. A good layer of meat, the cheese did not overwhelm it, the kraut was perfect. Can I give it six stars? I have only had its equal in Toronto. It was amazing. I suspect the entire menu is great. Eat there if you want a real "happy meal"!

Blonde woman at the till grabbed my baby and punted him into the kitchen and he fell in a pot of soup. Will not be coming here again.

I bought 2 knishes for $3.50 on Greek Day and they were inedible. They were filled with a repulsive paste the consistency of a child's paste but with a worse flavor. I think there were supposed to have ham but there was none in it. I don't know if something went wrong when they were creating a larger than normal amount of them for the event or if they are always like that but they shouldn't be sold as food.

The bagels were great though. Chewy and awesome. I would give the bagels a 5 out of 5 and the knishes a -1 if I could.

Edit: I got charged $3.50 for 2. Also as I said they were awful. Maybe the standards slipped due to volume. I have had them before in Vancouver, Toronto and New York and they didn't taste like that. Nonetheless I will give another star because the bagels were excellent and very fresh.

Really did not enjoy anything I ordered there. The bagels were absolutely awful. I'm extremely disappointed. Expected a lot better.

I hope this was a one-off incident.

Closed their stations at 4: 30 so couldn’t make a bagel. They close at 5: 00. Customer service was poor and I left without anything to try. I highly recommend the Cobs a few doors down, very helpful and the food is delicious!

Your response is a lie. I asked for a Sesame bagel and was told you were out so I asked for a Mish mash and was told you were out of those too so I said “can I have any bagel with hummus”. Then another employee came up to the front and told me that she couldn’t make bagels because her station was already cleaned for the night so I cut my loses and left because you clearly didn’t want my business. Admit your faults and fix them, don’t lie to make the customer look at fault.

I discovered their cottage cheese muffins years ago. I will make the effort to stop by when I am in the neighborhood. Service was polite. Cinnamon rolls and the carrot cake are worth the taste.

The 'fresh' bagels were really hard to start, then after one day in the fridge it was inedible/ too tough to chew through. Throw in the terrible customer service on top of it all.would just avoid this place all together.

Staff was adequately friendly, quite a bit of variety in their baked treats with seasonal items as well. They also have a well-stocked freezer for cook-at-home staples. Has a bunch of seasonal items. I did see a fly buzzing and landing on one of their muffins though.

This is a very quality bakery and when we are considering French Toast for breakfast we arrive at Solly’s and order poppyseed Challah, then we are thinking about a special pastry for breakfast as a chewy comfort food we arrive and order bagels.wearing a mask upon arrival is currently required.the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Passed by Sollys and I had to get a cinnamon bun. Although it's called Sollys Bagelry, their cinnamon buns are my favourite. They are full of layers, have tons of cinnamon and it's not overly sweet. When heated in the oven the layers become nice and crispy. I also recommend their garlic cream cheese if you like garlic. It's on the pricier side but definitely worth it as a treat once in awhile.

Keep coming back to this business for substantial food that is reasonably priced and made by the company. Almost all items are handcrafted by the staff on site or in their own offsite bakery. Look at the menu and see the goods, then you can see that the company has a commitment to creating the foods they serve. Real food is a joy to find. Thanks for the effort

Left without buying anything. Cashier doesn’t wear a mask. Mumbled something inaudible when I asked if the bagels were freshly baked. Terrible service. Good luck!

Owner wanted to charge me an extra if I wanted my bagel toasted still shock that she didn't charged me an extra for the paper bag

I support local business but what a rip off. For a toasted bagel and drip coffee, $6 and change. Seriously? Apparently the bagel more than doubles in value by using the precious toaster. I’d sooner go to Pure Bread (next door) or JJ (across the street) for some cake and good coffee. Staff are pleasant but owner needs to give their head a shake. You’ve lost a customer

I personally prefer their bagels over Siegels, but they suffer from terrible management. I was at their Yukon location at lunch when the owner was present, and I felt legitimately bad for the employees. She has no respect our faith in her employees abilities, so she tries to micromanage and ends up wasting time. Real shame.

The owner Leah is absolutely horrendous, takes advantage of international workers and is very verbally abusive, always yelling at and belittling her staff. Do not support this abusive and toxic working environment.

Quite often out of various kinds of bagels, and the ones they do have left in stock usually aren't the freshest. The wait for an eggel can also take anywhere between 2 to 10+ mins depending on how new the staff are. Seems to be someone new everytime I'm in so unfortunately a lot of the time the only person there is still in training. Because they are also understaffed, they don't usually have time to wipe down tables between customers so it's dirty and not where you would like to sit to eat your food.

Nothing wrong with the service. Went in, ordered bagels, the cashier was polite and prompt. The place was clean.

But these bagels kinda tank. Even "fresh" they're hard as hockey pucks. My mouth hurts chewing on them. The flavor is okay, but not great. I want to support local places like this, but OUCH. I can't safely cut the one I brought home because my bread knife wants to slip too much at first, or it gets stuck part way through.

Let me know when the bagels get better and I'll try again, but until then.nope. I'd like to keep my teeth and jaws intact.

I went to Solly's on a whim while looking for a hearty but cheap breakfast place in the neighbourhood and I couldn't have made a better call! I had a scrumptious vegetable "eggel" - fluffy scrambled eggs with mushrooms, peppers, caramelized onion and sweet potato topped with ooey-gooey cheese and sandwiched between a perfectly flavourful and chewy "mish mash" (everything) bagel. Pro tip: order a latke add-on and ask to have it put in the sandwich too for the best, albeit sinfully-greasy, breakfast ever. Finish off your meal with any of the variety of delicious-looking pastries - I opted for a cute mini chocolate rugelach!

The best bagels in Vancouver! Their MishMash bagels are the best everything bagels around. Bursting with garlic and onion. Everything a great bagel should be. Also no rye/caraway seeds on them so they a full and rich taste.

Older woman yelling at her staff. Belittling her in front of customers. Poor girl didnt do anything wrong. So disgusting. Don't think I'll be returning.
16 December 2019 23:39
Came in on a sunday morning, only one staff member serving a dozen orders, including making us all breakfast. Took forever, had to wipe down my own table, my cinnimon bun wasn't even warmed up, no chance to ask for any service.at least the Eggel was tasty when it finally arrived.

Nice bagels. They don't seem to bake at this store, and often run out. They're also closed several days per week.

I love the idea of Solly's. But this one is poor. The smoked meat bagel was processed deli meat, not proper pastrami. I've eaten at Sully's just off Cambie Street and it was a lot better. Think they need better staff too. Sorry. I really wanted to like and support this place but can't.

Update: in response to owner. I've think I've had a corned beef sandwich from the location near cambie. Talked to a lovely woman there who explained that the quality of the pastrami had declined over the years as it's hard to find good suppliers. I wasn't expecting it to be what I consider a highly processed pastrami.would be great to see the real deal.

Best cinnamon buns! All the food is great, but it's pretty poorly organized and the service leaves something to be desired.
