I love their food. The only thing that disappointed me was the pork chop rice doesn't have an egg on top, but everything else is really good, a good Vietnamese restaurant to try out.
19 December 2023 13:59
The service was fast, and foods are above average. We ordered pho dac biet and bun bo hue. I didn't like the cleaniness of the restroom and the unamerican food portions (small).
27 August 2023 8:47
Best classic style (not fancy) Vietnamese in Vancouver. Excellent quality meat, never overcooked or dry. Soup broth is great. Favourite order is #34 Lemongrass Pork, Chicken, and pork patty on vermicelli. The bun bo hue soup and spring rolls are amazing too. Also love the rare beef slices in lime. I eat here at least once a week. Very consistent quality, staff is kind and helpful, never disappointed!

Pho was above average. Spring rolls amazing and service cute! Would come back again for sure!
11 January 2023 14:55
Wow such a yummy spot! First time visiting and got the #72, BO 7 MON to share. This is a feast of beef prepared in 7 different ways. It Includes slices of rare beef in a vinegar hot pot, 3 types of grilled beef rolls, beef salad, beef congee, and a beef ball. It is also served with a plate of fresh greens, vermicell, rice paper, and our special anchovy dipping sauce. You eat with your hands and make your own wraps! Such a unique and delicious experience. The dipping sauce is also out of this world!

Song Huong is a tried and true place for pho and bun noodles. But the restaurant seats are showing their age with patches at almost every booth seat. They have well placed TV's for patrons to enjoy a sport game such as FIFA World Cup or NHL hockey game.
04 December 2022 13:30
Some of the better pho I've had in Vancouver. Very unassuming, casual hangout. My vibe.
03 December 2022 10:25
Best place in Vancouver to get pho been going here for years and the consistency is amazing not to mention the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I have tried everything and it's all very tasty and properly prepared. I have my favorites now that I tend to get more often than not. Everyone I have ever brought there has said the same thing.the place is a real treat to go to.

Thanks again for all the wonderful food see you soon I'm sure
25 September 2022 6:04
Food taste decent, however portions are on the small side relative to other comparable pho restaurants in town.
22 July 2022 20:36
The bun Bo hue was great, however the spring roll was tiny. They need to update this restaurant and have proper sanitation for the bathrooms.
24 June 2022 12:11
One of the best Northern style broths of any Pho place. It is extremely clear, although doesn't have the depth of flavourful as southern style.
23 June 2022 5:48
If I'm ever in the mood for Vietnamese, I go here. The service is fast and friendly. Definitely "hole in the wall" vibes with duct tape over the majority of the the booth seats but the food is delicious!
24 May 2022 18:06
Came here for a Sunday afternoon lunch. Service is standard and typical for these restaurants “flag” someone down if you need something otherwise they generally leave you be.

Ordered a #1 BÚN BÒ HUẾ, #3 PHỞ TÁI, #52. BÁNH LỌC TÔM THỊT & #60. BÒ TÁI CHANH

They were all decent and on par with the majority of other pho restaurants and definitely helps curb any “pho” cravings one would have.

Restaurant is spacious and there are many seats available. Overall, a decent restaurant.
13 March 2022 11:56
The bon bu bue pretty good compared with the others in vancouver. The chef was basic though not as good as i have tried many times in the world. Pricepoint is good for large bon bu hue. Place is okay like other vietnamese restaurant. But this is recommemded for comfort vietnamese. Cheers!

Delicious Vietnamese food

Cute ambiance, clean, friendly and fast service. Food had lots of flavour, I had no complaints. I’ll definitely be back
29 January 2022 22:10
Rice meals are delicious but on these cold days nothing beats a hot spicy soup from this place.
25 January 2022 8:05
Delicious and fresh ingredients. I recommend #72 Bò 7 Món. Feast of beef prepared in 7 ways. You make your own wraps with the many dishes provided. The anchovy dipping sauce is incredible. Lovely staff too?
02 January 2022 4:24
Food was good but they didn't follow Covid protocol and check for vaccine passports. I didn't realise until I got home. I won't go back for that reason.
02 October 2021 1:58
This restaurant is far better than most Asian restaurants in the Metro Vancouver.
The food is more healthy and tastes excellent! The prices are OK too.
27 September 2021 19:37
Authentic Pho! Wasn’t too salty or too savoury, a good balance. The place is nice and I’d try some other dishes next time!
28 August 2021 9:13
Reasonable price, good services, half parking, very unique decoration, food is fresh and taste very good,
23 August 2021 15:55
Very disappointed by the bun bo hue. The soup lacked flavour and depth, and was not spicy.

I added 3 spoonful of the satay sauce to the bowl and still there is no spice.

It was like they gave us a water downed bun bo hue.

Also the basil was wilted that I had to ask them to replace it.

Very disappointed as there other dishes like bo la lot is good
15 August 2021 5:55
The staff were very friendly and nice and the food was very tasty. One of the best Vietnamese food places.
04 August 2021 23:53
Very authentic Bon Bo Hue! It's hard to see this kind of traditional Bon Bo Hue nowadays that has pork blood cubes, pork hock chunk and everthing else. The broth has depth yet not too salty, really liked it overall.
03 June 2021 5:10
SONG HUONG SURREY JUST CHANGED IT’S NAME INTO HUONG VIET RESTAURANT, FOOD AND OWNER ARE STILL STAY SAME, TATSE AMAZING. FOR WHOEVER IS A FAN OF SURREY LOCATION, THEY STILL OPERATING, I JUST ORDERED, STILL GOOD AS ALWAYS. LOVE THE SERVICE
29 April 2021 21:11
I extremely like this restaurant because of soup flavor. The beef and meat ball for PHO HUE are so soft and good taste.
I suggest you to try PHO HUE that is the best i had tried all the time.
Only one thing that i think the owner must to improve is the lights always dark
11 April 2021 8:17
Ive been vietnam.and this place is only place i go. NOWHERE IN VANCOUVER MAKES BETTER VIETNAMESE FOODS THEN SONG HUONG! 5/5 taste just like the MotherLand
08 March 2021 10:03
Tables spread out, staff masked and serving with clothes. Visuals comply with our current norm but food is still piping hot and delicious as ever. Kids pho is always a hit with ours.
04 February 2021 10:59
Everyone has their favorite Pho spot and I've tried many. These guys have the best broth in the city, hands down. Sometimes I order a rice dish instead of soup, BUT I NEVER MISS OUT ON A BOWL OF BROTH! Even just on the side, with a nice peice of daikon floating in it. They also make good salad rolls, tapioca dumplings, spring rolls, grilled meats, and lemongrass items.

The decor is wild but fun as a bonus!
23 December 2020 19:15
In my opinion, the best Vietnamese spring rolls in Vancouver. Everything I've tried here was amazing actually. It's perfect. Except I'm pretty sure they dislike me because I'm white. Which should make me furious, but nope. I gave them 5 stars instead. It's that good.
22 December 2020 18:24
Our go to for Vietnamese food if we can make it in this area. Price for beef rice noodles are about the best at $10 for large bowl & taste good. Their marinated ground beef with the Lac loh mint leaves are fantastic, never tire of these but a small plate is about $15 & a large plate is $35. Had the do it yourself roll before, that is fun with more people & not during Covid times.
08 February 2020 8:55
My go to place for their bun bo hue and their chicken pho (ask to have the chicken on the side so it doesn’t get soggy in the soup)
03 February 2020 4:18
If you're looking for good food but don't care about the ambiance this is the place for you. Service isn't the most helpful either but food is quick and great
03 December 2019 15:44
One of our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. Prompt and friendly service. Family friendly (they provide small bowls and utensils for kids as well as a pair of scissors to cut noodles).

Our favourite items to order:
• Lemon Grass Chicken Pho No. 14 (Pro Tip: ask for chicken on the side so the soup stays clear broth)
• Bun Bo Hue No. 1 (Pro Tip: add banana flower for an authentic taste)
• Rare Beef, Flank, Tendon and Tripe Pho No. 9
• Deep Fried Spring Rolls No. 15
• Pork and Shrimp Tapioca Dumpling wrapped in banana leaf No. 53

If you’re sharing with your kids, you can add a couple bucks for extra pho noodles to the regular or large size depending on your appetite that day.

When the restaurant is busy and packed, they may have slower service and could leave tables full of empty dishes (so don’t be surprised if you see this scene).
21 October 2019 1:06
We ordered their special Bun Bo Hue and the lemon grass chicken w Vermicelli. Hubby liked the bun bo hue, but he said it's not the best he's had (Got Pho still hits #1 on his list). I didnt like mine very much. Will give it 2/5. I also agree Got Pho's version is much tastier, and a lot bigger portions for almost the same price.

We will come again to try something new, but this doesnt excite us like other Vietnamese places do.
15 October 2019 14:56
I'm lucky enough to live very close to this place and their broth is unreal. Best spring rolls I've had and service is very fast if not a bit terse
14 October 2019 13:44
Shared a meal here with family and really enjoyed the experience. We ordered a variety of dishes for 5 people. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and professional. We shared a large bowl of bun bo hue, which tasted light, clean and full of flavor. Spring rolls and fried chicken was also very good, along with an order of pickled cabbage. The highlight of the meal were the rolls we wrapped ourselves at the table. You order some perfectly cooked beef wrapped in leaves, chewy vermicelli noodles, crisp vegetables, and fresh herbs. Dip your rice paper into water, wrap up whatever ingredients you want from above and dip into a mixed fish sauce. Sooooo delicious and highly recommended.
10 October 2019 8:26
Food is decent.however no service at all as it took like 10 mins for them to take down the order and did not refill the tea.no fan or air-condition in the summer heat.was sweating during the whole time.
29 September 2019 20:55
This a great Vietnamese restaurant that focuses more on the food than customer service. You're going to get really good food, but expect any servers to come and check on the table or to refill water or tea. It's basically a restaurant to sit and eat and carry on with your day.
20 September 2019 7:26
Tried Song Huong today as we were craving Viet food. The place is huge! It is airy and wasn't very busy when I first got there. That changed within 10 minutes and the room we were in filled up completely. It appears to be a popular destination for locals.

The staff were fast and helpful. Service was quick too.

We ordered the deep-fried item #58-spring rolls, Pho' #1 and #13. All the food was great and the portions were large enough to feel full. My wife couldn't finish hers.

The Pho's had great taste and the spring rolls were appropriately crunchy.

Their iced coffee and lemonade are both dilicious as well.

Price was not too bad, considering the portion size and inclusion of drinks. $41.50.

I have to say that I felt full for hours which was great but my wife and I also had a very strong reaction and we're very thirsty for many, many hours afterwards. I have not had this type of reaction with any other Vietnamese food.

We tried this Vietnamese restaurant on a Thursday night, and seating was plentiful. The outside looks unassuming, but the food tastes authentic (to me anyway!). The place was laid back, spacious, and could fit large groups easily. There are also plenty of side street parking because they are located in a predominantly residential area. I tried their house special (item 1) bun bo hue, large, which had a little bit of everything. It does contain some exotic items like pork blood cubes, and pork hock, and has a slight spicy kick to it, but tasted flavourful and rich (recommended!). The price was descent as well, at $10.25 for the large. The prices already include taxes too! They are a cash or debit only place though.
07 September 2019 3:53
Food is good and lots of space inside the restaurant, unlike most Vietnamese noodle restaurants in Vancouver
30 August 2019 14:33
Excellent tasting Pho beef soup. First time visiting this location and I really enjoyed it. I ordered the Viet coffee which was also enjoyable. Prices are great and only costs $1 more typically to get the large. Great deal.
04 July 2019 7:26
Lots of seating available
Love getting the house special bun no hue and spring rolls, everything tastes amazing
Would recommend this pho place
13 May 2019 4:07
I come here on a weekly or biweekly basis. The pho broth is by far one of the best in the lower mainland.
08 May 2019 5:36
Great Pho and rice noodles dishes. Nothing fancy, the basic. Good soup base. The best thing is that I can't taste the MSG. Wow
One more thing. Great prices.
Is my go to place when I am in the hood.
17 April 2019 21:50
Great pho place. Price is good. Taste is good. Felt like you good old mom and pop style Asian restuarant.

Cons: Horrible to find a place to park. Place is a bit run down so don't expect 100% cleanliness. Lighting can improve.
15 April 2019 1:24
Great Vietnamese food, one of the best in east Vancouver. Great service and great selection of food.
Restaurant can use some updating, other then that everything else was perfect
03 March 2019 19:11
Good food, good selection, good seating.everything just screams.good.service is just okay.they only take debit and cash.no credit card.
19 February 2019 3:45
Consistency is key, and this place knows that better than anyone. Anytime I want a warm, home cooked, healthy and hearty meal. Thus is my first choice. #22 with a bowl of spicy broth. My favorite.
05 February 2019 0:40
I particularly came here for their bun bo Hue.
The look: it's ok, until I put the sate (chili oil paste) in and put some herbs in the look was improved significant.
The taste: broth is decent, wish they could do a bit more spicy and fishy (from the shrimp paste). The bowl is big for a girl so I can't finish it. It has enough meat like in Vietnam (not a lot like other restaurants honestly). The pork leg cooked perfectly, the skin was still crunchy. However they didn't use the correct crab meat ball for the soup, it's a bland straight pork meat ball only. They don't have the Vietnamese mint (rau ram) either which actually surprised me since this herb can be found easily. Overall I would give it 7/10
We also ordered their shrimp and pork dumplings which are good. Their eggrolls were extremely good, the skin was super crispy. However, the dipping fish sauce suck for both dishes, too salty and not using quality fish sauce apparently.
The last item we ordered was Vietnamese coffee. It's perfect on point. I loved the fact that they gave us a pocket of ice separately so we can add as much ice as we want for our coffee.
Last but not least, the staff was very friendly, she actually gave good recommendations for good food (not for sale purposes).
Definitely will come back here if we visit Vancouver again
