Rather a good surprise to have tasted a soup from this establishment!
After getting a tooth pulled, I needed an easy meal to eat that's why I decided to go taste this.
I took the african peanut soup, I really liked this exotic taste with sweet potato and peanut butter, the vegetable pieces were quite generous.
I took a bowl because the cup seemed really small to me. For a light meal like mine it was okay but for a good eater or a big hunger I find it too small! The bowl is served with toppings of your choice (cream, coriander, cheese, green onions.), I took everything as well as 2 slices of bread (or rice) and butter. The lentil soup tells me to try next time.
This soupa cafe is located in the indoor shopping area, there are a few tables but the atmosphere is basic.

We won a gift certificate and had never been here. We went in on a wet, cold day and had a bowl of chili and a bowl of chicken stew soup. They were both delicious, you can tell they were homemade. Very pleasant staff. A bit pricey but I think it's like that everywhere now. $13 for a bowl of soup/stew. We were very pleased overall.

I don't care if your food taste like garbage which it does not! You helped a fellowman when he really needed help. Bless your soul

I visited for the first time downtown as I was looking for a soup place. I had the veg chilli and it tasted better than I expected. They offer toppings for your soup which I liked a lot. The bread that came with it was good and moist. I also picked up a vegan brownie which was yummy. I found the price very reasonable. The staff were super friendly. I'd definitely return.

We heard so many great things and were very eager to try out the newer Esquimalt location for our Friday night take out meal. The staff were amazing and friendly, and the restaurant smelled amazing at time of pickup.

I tried the daily special, a 7 grain chicken soup, and my wife got the creamy mushroom. They both looked and smelled awesome, but after the first bite we were both really disappointed.all we could taste was salt. I've had canned soup with significantly less salt content. I was quite hungry, so despite this I finished it, but my wife could barely eat half. By the end of the night my joints felt swollen and my face was puffy, it was that salty.

I'm glad that so many people enjoy their products, local businesses deserve that love, but unfortunately, we won't be going back.

Came to have a light supper. Wonderful Gluten free offerings. We enjoyed the chicken stew, split pea and ham. Well worth the visit.

Long before we were buzz PROS, Soupa Cafe was a downtown Victoria favorite place to put things in our mouths. The female owner of this local business is a gold star HUSTLER – making & slinging soup all day long. If you want the sweet and opposite version of the soup Natzi – this is the place to go. Any of their soups will hit your G spot and make you say ahhhh mmmm oooh, healthy and delicious, you can tell with every bite the extra attention to detail there is no skimping on the goods. PROS TIPS ~ Try the turkey brie sandwich – double toasted – you can thank us later. Bonus #deal have it all, Soup, Sandwich and Drink - it's so filling it will leave you satisfied all day.

I've not actually been in but I saw the owners offer an act of kindness online, I'll be sure to come by some time!

I tried the new Esquimalt location and loved the soup. They let me try samples to decide which one I liked best. So filling and delicious!

Let's get to the point: this was the best breakfast bagel I've ever had. The food in this new little restaurant is exquisite, seemingly simple yet beautifully flavoured. As for options, there seem to be a humble yet varied menu of both classics and vegetarian options available, and the staff were more than willing to accommodate me when I mentioned an allergy. I wish I could show you a picture of what I chose, but I ate it too fast! But suffice to say, the breakfast egg'n'bacon bagel is well worth your time.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They brought me my breakfast within short order, and checked up on me after to see how I was doing and to make sure i was enjoying myself. I was! The interior is clean and simple as well, nothing dramatic or overstated, although the table art is very fun to look at. Fairly spacious too. It's a bit like a diner, fresh and to the point, but much less greasy.

In short, don't pass by this little place if you can help it. It's a little startup with a big heart, and it shows in the taste of what you eat.

Had dinner tonight at the new Esquimalt Rd location. Probably the best customer service I have ever had! Soups were phenomenal. The gentleman behind the counter let me try samples of the soups before I made my choice.

They were out of the mulligatawny (sp?) so I tasted the African Peanut and the Creamy Mushroom. That mushroom soup was the best I have ever had. Unbelievably good food. Had the Turkey Bacon sandwich on gluten free bread which was delicious as well. They even wrap the bread before toasting to eliminate any cross-contamination (I am celiac). So glad I came here for dinner tonight!

Best soups in Victoria. Had an opportunity to try almost all of them and was not disappointed at all. Very filling and hearty! Highly reccomend to all.

Food this healthy has no business being this delicious. The service was amazing. Cobb salad. Chicken soup. Sausage rolls (ok, less healthy but satisfied a carpenter!). You guys, an under-discovered Victoria gem!

I’ve ordered here twice on SkipTheDishes and recently ordered their Turkey, Brie, Cranberry sandwich with gluten free bread. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. As someone who is newly gluten free their gluten free bread and cake taste just as good as non-gluten free items. They also package really nicely for takeout and even included a pin and sticker. Support this local business!

5 stars for the superb and friendly customer service, as well as the Portofino bread! I visited from out of town & tried the Bombay Vegetable & Red Lentil soup. Both extremely flavourful, I loved that everything was so fresh it just wasn't my personal all-time fave soups. However I would definitely recommend trying them out!

I’ve been wanting to try this place and finally ordered take-out here. The prices are pretty reasonable for the good quality foods, especially if you get one of their soup/sammy/drink/etc meal deals. Makes for a perfect lunch and would’ve been super good! If only there was buffalo sauce on my buffalo chicken wrap: (It was probably a total accident in the kitchen, mistakes happen. Pretty disappointing, the vegan brownie was bomb tho!

Amazing little homemade style takeout soup place tucked along the hallway of a tiny mall in downtown Victoria. Great food.and the service can only say that it was very warming, especially the blonde lady who was very accommodating. Keep up the great work and thank you!

I have only ever ordered skip/tutti from these guys but let me tell you it is always amazing. The soup is always piping hot and the sandwiches are filled to the brim with fresh ingredients. I always get the same few orders but it is always delicious. Try this place asap!

Their soups are all a bit on the heavy side. If you want a soup that will fill up your stomach and stop you from being hungry for a long time, this is the soup place for you. If you want a nice light soup with no consequences, look elsewhere. Even their mushroom soup will have you stuffed. I also tried their garden burger. The patty didn't want to stay a patty, it was very crumbly. However it was very tasty with a lot of healthy things in it. The bun in came on was flavourless. Seems a bit steep at $18

Nice quiet spot if that's what you're looking for. They're open later than most places seem to be lately too. Some gluten free baked goods, a little pricey but pretty good. Not sure if they are made there or brought in. Just wish they had better coffee.

Absolutely delicious every time! I always order 2 sandwiches as I can never choose only 1! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Very disappointed, soup tasted sour and was seasoned incorrectly - Kale chicken César wrap was basically a kale César salad wrapped in a whole wheat pita. There was barely any chicken or anything in it beside huge chunks of kale. Will not go back /do not recommend

The food here was amazing! My partner and I went to the View Street location while we were on a weekend holiday in Victoria. There was an unexpected rush when we went in, which the girl working handled very well. Though there was a bit of a wait, she was extremely kind and apologetic. I got the cranberry turkey brie sandwich, and it was the BEST sandwich I've had in my life! This is fully the truth. Sincerely wish we had a place like this in Vancouver. My partner's vegan mushroom soup was also delicious!

Awesome experience at Soupa Cafe! Family owned operation that is run as smoothly as any top notch franchise serving up fresh soups daily that are second to none. Complete with nutrition labels, these guys allow me to grab food during the day that allows me to easily stick to my keto diet. Delicious!

Avi and Carly the owner's are simply delightful, courteous and respectful. I will definitely be back!

I ordered delivery through Skip the Dishes and was amazed with how delicious the sandwich was! I ordered the turkey bacon club and I just expected basic deli sliced meat, but it was full non turkey strips. AMAZING! SO DELICIOUS! Will definitely being ordering from here again.

First time customer long time soup fan, the pesto minestrone was delicious! The cheese sandwich was good as well, a bit more melty would have made it perfect. Definitely will return!

This is my go to place for soup and sandwiches. I am vegan and even my work orders from here a lot for our pop up events. I always get the Soupa Vegan sandwich usually toasted and I'd eat it every day if I could!

Amazing lil cafe! Theres all sorts of soups that are dairy free, gluten friendly, vegan, and others that are just packed full of meat and veggies. They have a second location in the Toyota dealership on the second floor across from mayfair mall

Variety of soups is great and all I have tried are delicious. I recently started ordering through their online delivery service. After one order, I reached out to ask whether I could provide my own containers for the online orders to reduce plastic waste. I received a response almost immediately and the staff have been extremely accommodating by allowing me to use my own containers. This is the type of customer service that other businesses can learn from.

Dropped by on recommendation of a food industry friend because it is one of the few downtown places to make food from scratch. Usually I get a wrap and normally don't pay $10-ish for soup but can definitely reccomend without hesitation.

Great food as always, taller girl with the brown hair was sweet and kind despite someone calling and complaining "the chicken soup was off" she was calm and collected and still helped customers out in the meantime. Great customer service for everyone working. Thank you.

While visiting Victoria on a holiday from Australia, we chanced upon this delightful soup cafe. Unable to decide what to try, we ordered all the soups and shared the bowls between our group. The soups were truly amazing. The delicious flavour is due to the excellent ingredients combined with a talented chef who gets the blend of flavours just right. We can't wait to visit again. The 14 hour flight and a ferry crossing might just be worth it for a bowl of Soupa's delicious soup. I suppose deliveries are out of the question?

Oct 11th 2019 I am adding to my review because of yesterday's lunch.
Ohh my gosh was the Been Bacon soup freaking delicious as well as the chili my wife had rounded off with a Bree and chicken sandwich.
Was absolutely delicious as being fresh tasty and quick service.
We absolutely love and adore Soupa Cafe as well as the owners the staff can't say enough about Carly so adorable and for a life as well as her partner in business and in life Avi who's love for life in this community shows through in their food and commitment to make every customer feel like a family member.
Be fun fact you might not be aware of but they offer a Veterans and military discount. As a Veteran myself they have always been so respectful and so supportive of the fact that I served as well as every veteran that walks through the door and first responder. But seriously you have to try they're custom made soups and sandwiches to die for.

Absolutely one of my most favorite places to get breakfast and or lunch as well as using there delivery service for catering meetings as well as home delivery.
The food is of the freshest and local product prepared in front of you.
Can't say enough about the staff and owners.
A small business with a large heart.

This is a side note onto my last review.
Was there yesterday August 26th 2019 late morning picking up my coffee and decided while I was there to grab my lunch a sandwich to go.
Decided on egg salad sandwich then we added bacon some Finley sliced onions finishing the prep for my lunch sandwich lol.
Later on when I was finally able to have lunch I was floored by the pier perfection of simplicity, yes it was an egg salad sandwich but the fact that the bread was fantastic just the right snap to the bite, strong enough to withstand having egg salad on it for a couple hours to I could retrieve it from our fridge, the egg salad itself was plentiful and flavorful the add on of bacon and thinly sliced onions buy request of onion I say this because if you want thick they will do that as well.
It was just a really good sandwich a simple sandwich that made my day.
If you haven't eaten here why not. Trust me they will not let you down.

Great sandwiches, but haven't tried their soups. I tried to order some but the lady answered the phone and then walked away from me for a while so I walked away too. Service left something to be desired.

Fantastic soups! I have been to soupa three times now. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the soups are amazing. I have tried the vegetarian chili as well as the chicken stew. Next week I will have to try something new.
It's nice to have warm soup on some of our dreary rainy days and service with a smile doesn't hurt at all. A+ restaurant

Love this place! I have now tried four different soups and all were delicious. I also really love the use of simple and healthy ingredients. It is about the only "fast food" I feel good about giving my toddler.

I paid nine dollars for a tiny little to-go container of "lemon spice" lentil soup. Even if the soup had been good, that's still a ridiculous amount of money for a small amount of lentil soup. Unfortunately, the soup had an obnoxious, cloyingly sweet flavour. I don't know if they put sugar in this stuff, but it sure tastes like it. I'd still try them again if the prices weren't so ridiculous. I know they need to pay the rent, but so do I.
