Sparta Greek Taverna and Pizza

The waiter was very nice. The music was setting an amazing and enjoyable environment. I recommend going here for pizza. Big portions.

There was a party of 30.all and all most were happy. A few hiccups, but overall, a good experience.

Beef Souvlaki was phenomenal and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. Service was a bit slow but waitress was kind.

Randomly decided to try this restaurant on DD due to my go to greek restaurant going completely down hill.

The prawn soulvaki was actually juicy and cooked properly vs most which is dry and over cooked.

It's a rare occasion that a roast lamb tastes delicious to me, I'm blown away by the flavour.

This establishment knows how to cook & they've gained me as a regular.

We had our second special event at Sparta and once again it was spectacular! Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere.

We had a wonderful dinner at Sparta this evening. Unexpectedly got to enjoy the belly dance performance as we walked in and it was great! Enjoyed a delicious Negroni, wine and Caprese salad to start, all were delicious especially the negroni ;)
The entree portions were generous; the lamb shoulder was melt in your mouth and the chicken souvlaki was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Great atmosphere for a cozy Saturday dinner. Highly recommend!

Had sovalaki dish did not care for the Turmeric cover chicken greek salad was not great tasted like ceasar salad dressing.

Fantastic Greek food. The meals are massive and yummy. My favorite would have to be the calamari and roast lamb dinner.

Amazing pizza served. Greek and Italian people make the best tasting pizzas. Looking forward to dining here soon.

Deserve a visit there to enjoy the good quality food in a very beautiful area. They have also good shows to enjoy the diner and traditional music and dance

Suddenly in the middle of dinner with a packed restaurant the DJ turns on the most insane background music full blast for a belly dancing show. The dancer was very beautiful and talented but the music was like skinning cats for about 15 minutes until I started shouting at the serving staff who apparently were desensitized to the experience.

Great relaxed atmosphere, very well decorated and friendly, attentive staff.
Drinks were cold, appy's and food were 90% perfect with the only glitch being that the chicken my date ordered was overcooked so it was a bit dry, my lamb though was perfectly seasoned and cooked.

Had a wonderful night here celebrating a birthday of a friend with amazing Greek food and very attentive staff. The food was nicely presented, well prepared, and delicious! We are already making plans to go back as there’s so much more to try. I highly recommend this place!

Service was above and beyond my expectations and staff was very professional.the Greek salad dressing is second to none! The Lamb was cooked to perfection and presentation of the food was excellent. Very reasonable prices.

We had a delicious dinner with some appetizers. The saganaki was delicious. An old school greek restaurant. Greg was our server and he was professional, friendly, and attentive. Live this place!

Definitely not Greek, easy to tell of you are Greek. Service was not great.

Our drinks were empty for more than half the night, appies took over 30 minutes.

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great or worth 120$ meal for two people.

We came here for our first time to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The service and food were simply amazing! Portion sizes were generous and we had enough food to take home for lunch the next day. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great first experience at your restaurant!

The food is delicious, the portions generous, and the service is very good. Normally you don't go wrong with Greek food, and Sparta is no different.

Really nice Greek restaurant in Port Coquitlam. They do not only Greek style cuisine busy also some fusion dishes. Tasty food and very good service. Went there during lunch hour, and it was not too busy as it was early lunch. Good dining experience

Excellent experience dining in on a Saturday night. Party of eight celebrating a birthday. All had a great time! We shared 2x calamari for two as an appy and each had mains. Everything was delicious & filling. Highly recommend the Roasted Lamb & Baked Lasagna.

Thank you to our wonderful waitress with long braids and the owner/manager who came by at the end, it really made my Dad’s night and we’ll definitely return again.

We had an event at Sparta for 35 people; it exceeded my expectations from planning to the actual event. Natalia, the owner, was fantastic to work with. Excellent communication, reasonable pricing, great menu options and flexible with all the extra little requests that popped up.

On the night of the event our servers, Marta and Emma, were great. The food was hot, fresh, tasty and came out in a timely manner. Portions were very generous.

I would highly recommend Sparta Greek Taverna and Pizza for a dinner out or an organized group gathering.

We just had an event at Sparta tonight and it was fabulous. They worked with us to make our event so enjoyable- with fabulous service and huge portions of delicious food. Thanks to servers Emma and Marta- you were amazing!

This is our first time visiting this restaurant and compared to all other Greek restaurant, this is the best that I've been to. Service was far beyond excellent, the waitress and the owner were very nice.

One thing that I've realized was the operation. It seems that the owner doesn't like to take in too many guest, so the staff can have more time and care for the tables they are serving and the chef have enough time to focus on each dishes and serve high quality food.

The dishes we ordered are fantastic. The food were very well cooked and displayed. The roasted lamb was far beyond delicious, it was very tender. As for the Greek rib, you are able to get meat off the bone easily. I love how the taste of food were all very balanced, unlike any other Greek food' the lamb or meat were all heavy marinated.

We've also ordered spanakopita, and saganaki. Personally I wasn't a big fan of goat cheese, but after tasting it with the pita, I've immediately fell in love. The burst of the cheese with pita, the combined flavor was amazing. I'm very amazed how they've made the spanakopita non-greasy taste. I've always ordered this dish whenever I went to any Greek restaurant, this is the best I've ever tried.

Overall, you're able to taste the fresh ingredient, and high quality food with large portion and decent price.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very comfortable, because it is not crowded and you are able to enjoy the food while having the conversation with your friends or family in normal voice volume instead of the need to raising your voice under crowded and noisy restaurant.

Highly recommended We ended up ordering more pita bread for take out.

First time to dine at Sparta. To celebrate a birthday. The owner Natalia (sorry if misspelled) was most graceful. The food I ordered beef souvlaki, was cooked just right. The pita bread served was very fresh. Overall, the food ordered was very tasty! If you’re in Coquitlam and hungry for Greek food, go to Sparta!

Want to start off by saying the server was great and this has nothing to do with them and the service. Went there around 630 and ended up waiting an hour and a half for any food to come out. We wanted to leave an hour into waiting but we we’re hopeful that it would be out any minute. We saw so many takeout and skip orders leaving too while we were waiting. When the food eventually did come out, it was so bland and tasted like nothing. The server felt so bad she offered to buy us a desert but we just wanted to get out of there. Kitchen really needs to figure out what they’re doing because it negatively affects the servers and their tips which is unfair. I understand things happen and kitchens get backed up but they should’ve been prepared for a day like mother’s day and figured it out.

Take out was a great choice on a rainy day. Beef souvlaki, veal parmigiana, bbq rib, seafood alfredo were more than enough for 4 people. Enjoyed it very much and likely to visit more often if they open during lunch hour.
