Spirit Cruises (Vancouver Charters)

Thank you Vanessa with Spirit Cruises for the special arrangement for our Celebration of Light 2023 firework cruise. This cruise was a surprisedly great experience. You make our birthday and anniversary event unforgettable! My families and I had a wonderful evening on the Pride of Vancouver. I definitely recommend Spirit Cruises.

Such an excellent experience for our corprate event! Captain Kevin is super responsive and all the staff are so helpful. Food is fantastic! Would highly recommend.

My partner and I did a cruise for the Celebration of Light fireworks on a Saturday night. Overall it was a really fun experience, nice to be out on the water for the sunset, buffet dinner, watching the fireworks, and a DJ for dancing. A couple areas for improvement:
- The boat is packed pretty full (tables quite close together, long lineups for drinks plus an 18% required gratuity.)
- The food for vegetarians is not great. The main was penne with tomato sauce. I assume the meat options are much better.
All in all I think it's decent value for money and was a fun evening.

Had such a great time on the boat! The views of the harbour and Lions gate bridge were incredible and the boat was beautiful.

First of all, the crew was very helpful and friendly, that is the reason they get an additional star and not just 1 star. The food was ok, nothing fancy but alright. We were on the Star of Vancouver and I have the impression, they just use the boat for making money and skipping the maintenance. The boat itself is not in a good condition, wallpaper is coming off at several spots, covers from lights are broken, faucets in washroom are loose etc. Just to name a few things. The lights at the top deck where the bar and dance floor is are just aweful. As long as the sun is shining, no big deal, but as soon as it gets darker they just dont create a nice atmosphere for dancing and partying. But the worst was actually the rip off at the bar. It is ok that drinks are not cheap on a boat but they go way too far. They charge an auto gratuity of 18%, which is placed very unremarkably at the menu. But when you pay, the card terminal asks for a tip, which probably everybody gives them additionally. And to top it, they place a vase at the bar for the third tip you are allowed to give them. Obviously, tipping the 2nd and 3rd time is everybodies own decision, but they also apply more taxes to the 18% auto gratuity than allowed. By law, it is not allowed to apply the 15% (GST+ liquor PST) for the auto gratuity as well, which they do. In the end, it just feels like they want to make use of the drunk people in an unfair way. But this is by far not the only place that does so.

We celebrated a 75th birthday with 30 guests on a four-hour cruise aboard the Star of Vancouver and it was a memorable experience! Kevin and his crew were very attentive, ensuring our every need was met. The salmon buffet was a perfect choice, and the beautiful scenery made it even better. We danced the night away with music blasting and everyone enjoyed the open bar. Amazing night with amazing people! Thank you!

I just had a lovely birthday party and cruise with 50 of my friends and family. Kevin and his team have been so accommodating from the get go. On the evening of the event, he told the guests that he really wanted us all to have a GREAT time and that we did. Now I have to find another reason to come out again. FYI- the food was really yummy cooked on site. I want the recipe for the chick pea salad. 5 stars!

Fantastic Experience! 4 hours in the beautiful bay in Vancouver! I highly recommend it! We spent New Year in the boat!

The meal was excellent! Best Caesar salad I have had, gave up ordering them in restaurants as they are usually tasteless. The roast beef was also awesome with au jus and horse radish. The photos below don’t include all the offerings just the ones I tried. The music was great. Started out classical and relaxing as we were boarding. And evolved through the evening to eventually become great dance music for all generations. The dance floor was packed and everyone from young to old had a great time! A few young families came with kids and it was so fun to see them up dancing with their parents.

Unbelievable story happened in Spirit Cruises. My $2000.00 Bose speaker dropped into water when I walking on the dock after a cruise a month ago.i jumped into the cold water to try to retrieve my speaker with no luck. I completely gave up. However, I got a call from Kevin at Spirit Cruises 3 days ago l, he got the speaker back for me from 30 foot deep water. How could he get it, why he got it and why he give it back to me? What’s an honest person he is? All those questions only Kevin, the general manager can answer. Not only was the experience aboard the boat incredible, following up by finding my belonging for me when he didn’t have to…. Unbelievable, incredible, I will make an announcement to the world: Spirit Cruise is the best in this world, and also will tell the medias the amazing story…….

The neptunes jewel hosted my daughter and my dads surprise birthday party. We had a private party and they completely exceeded our expectations. The food was great and fresh. The service was phenomenal. They were patient and attentive and helped make the night a huge success. I would highly recommend them. Great team.

Overall a disappointing experience.

Good:
* Fireworks were spectacular
* Food was pretty good

Bad:
* There were candles on the table but the servers never lit them. There was no other lighting in the boat after the show. Sat in almost complete darkness for about an hour on the way back from the fireworks.
* Took away two full glasses of wine and two cakes without asking while we were watching the show.
* The payment system was down and had everyone waiting about an hour after the cruise, until almost midnight. No apologies and no clear explanation given.
* Put on the wrong station for the fireworks simulcast at the start. Listened to a random station not related to the show for the first few minutes.

Went on the cruise to get away from the crowds and the waiting. Was very disappointed.

Everything was so beautiful from beginning to end for our 45 guest event. The service and food were beyond our expextations. Having the staff serve the food at the buffet was a brilliant way to to manage food sanitaiton and safety during these exceptional times. Thank you to all of the staff and crew, we will definitely be back again on our next trip to Vancouver. Highly recommending Spirit Cruises to all.

What an incredible time. From the awesome views and superb meal to a truly service orientated family business. The hosts were like visiting family (the good ones). Where else can you spend 4 hours cruising the waters of Vancouver to a incredible buffet. My gosh Kevin and Bernadette you nailed it. So glad to have experienced your kind and caring business. We had a great time with Kevin and his team on Friday August 7th. Dinner was great tasting and fresh and they prep all the meals on the boat. His team were attentive, friendly and well mannered and genuinely happy to have us on board. Kevin (owner) was actively part of his team and focused on making the night a relaxed genuine night of Vancouver hospitality. We would do it again which is the best test of any experience. Good times on Spirit Cruises. Well done Kevin and team!

Spirit Cruises provides exceptional customer service. Their entire staff was courtesy, polite, and professional. The food was good, too. I liked the salads, salmon, rice pilaf, and the pasta. The pasta was spicy and delicious. I didn't like the roast beef at all. It was bland.

My BFF had a last minute elopement/wedding and we had the most amazing experience ever. I helped set up and dealt with Kevin and Bernadette who were both an absolute pleasure to deal with. Chef is amazing, the cheesecake was TO DIE FOR. All of the food and the entire experience was amazing. Great people, super friendly! Highly recommend, thank you!

Had such a fantastic time on the Valentine's cruise! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and made the event v special. Dinner was delicious and I loved all the little touches, e.g. The red roses and chocolates on the table, and the awesome DJ! Such a great night, and an amazing way to see Vancouver - highly recommend to all:)

Vanessa with all the initial planning of our event, Kevin for all his help on the day of the wedding, really took the pressure off me as i was dealing with so many other items.his communication about stuff that was happening on the boat, his professionalism and quick thinking really made the day go smoothly.

We had a party of about 31 people on board for a 3 hour evening cruise this week and everybody had a great time. Food was delicious and the ride was smooth. The forecast was rain that evening but it held out for almost the entire trip. The staff was friendly informative and very accommodating. Definitely would use their services again! My mother surprised my family and I with a dinner on the spirit cruise. The dinner/buffet was great (lots to go around, hot, great variety) and the service was even better! All of the people working are friendly and helpful, the owner of the boat is clearly very passionate. The DJ was good, and we had a really great time as a family dancing, eating, and drinking. I’d love to do something like this for my wedding, and we will be returning for sure in the future.
