Haven’t purchased anything from sports chek for a while now and didn’t realize how far they had fallen. Nobody came to see if I needed any help, yet there were more staff in the store than customers. After finally finding what I needed there were 4 people in line for the checkout and only 1 person working the counter while other staff were just chatting. Then they said it was $2 for a bag? !? I mean I understand 50 cents or something, but $2? Wow, overpriced products and overpriced bags. Ya, I won’t be back.

The girl working Tuesday July 11 2023 @ 6: 45 pm terrible customer service, she ask me if l wanted to purchase a $2 recycle bag l replied no, she handed my shirts.l asked her for paper bag l would pay 25 cents like every other business offers no attempt to find a solution like dry toast lol, this is crazy after spending $100 l walked out holding 2 shirts in my hand, uncomfortable trying to walk in other businesses with tags hanging. What a joke.

The bike department staff were extremely friendly and professional when my bike needed a minor derailleur adjustment. Jed helped me get my bike shifting like new free of charge.

Lots of good sales and helpful service. Unfortunately every pair of shoes that I wanted was not in my size. Popular brands in Popular sizes couldn't be helped. Otherwise, I walked out happy

Brought boards to get serviced. Drop off was fine. When I came to pick up the boards, he gave me the boards and was half on his phone. I noticed a barcode and security sticker attached and started removing the stickers. The tech began eating tim bits and trying to get some Rogers tickets off his cellphone while I stood in front of him trying to scrapeoff all the stuck glue and adhesive. Tech then proceeds to tell me I had to finish the payment process before I continue. I apologized and told him he didn't provide any instructions on what I should be doing and that he didn't even tell me to sign off on the screen, he just went "yeah my bad".
I then continued scraping stuff off, his manager came by and said oh we have some stuff to help with that, tech goes "yeah we do" and then the tech doesn't do anything to help and walks away. Eventually gave up on the stuck adhesive and left. First and last time coming here.

Had a great experience with Donya, she has excellent customer service regarding many of the clothing items I bought. She had great ideas for Christmas gifts, will for sure be coming again!

I am writing this review based on a very bad experience at the Coquitlam Mall Sport Check branch recently.

I entered the store and found my wife and my son waiting outside the “inventory storage” doorway. I asked my son if he found a good punching bag so I could teach him appropriate martial art punching techniques.

He said yes and then I asked an employee if they had a “display” so I could check the quality of the 80lb bag.

He said no but pointed towards a newly boxed bag under a desk in the inventory area.  I then asked if I could enter the designated area and he kindly said yes. I then I walked about 4 or 5 feet into the area beside him and could see on packaging box that it was made by Everlast.

Note the inventory area is embedded with the public shopping area, the only separation is an open curtain.  We did not notice the small sign above the door that says employees only until later on.

I told the young man that I would purchase the bag based on the fact that I know the brand and poundage well and that I did not want him to have to unbox it (save his labour not to do so).

While we were talking about the purchase, to my instant shock, a middle aged man yelled “get outa here” from a few aisles down.  When I realized that he was taking to me, I was surprised and felt extremely disrespected as a customer.  While I walked out of the room I responded: ”excuse me”.  At this point,  he chested up to me quickly with a body language like “get the f***k outa here”.

I then face to face calmly said “I will get out if you don’t ask so rudely”.  He responded with a smile on his face saying: ” you are serious? ! ”

My wife was totally shocked that for absolutely no reason we were treated this way as kind polite customers. We never even use our being customers as a reason to have any “perceived” position power at all in stores.

I am currently 65 years old and had not been spoken to like that for absolutely no reason since I was a teenager in the 1970s.

He then told my son  for absolutely no reason that he (my son) was a really nice guy unlike many other people who are not very nice at all (obviously talking about his elder father).

My son then called him an a** hole which he obviously deserved. Then that insecure foolish man quickly walked away with a red mad face and left his poor employee to handle it alone.

Apparently he is a manager and his name is Tom.  Judging from the way his employees reacted it seems that they were not surprised at his demeanor.

I can now see why this branch has such bad reviews, even if the staff like the inventory control and cashier employees are very nice and accommodating.

I believe this dude needs serious HR training to prevent him from abusing any other customers or younger employees.   What a terrible example for young people that cannot stand up for themselves as most mature woman or men can do.

I felt it very necessary to write a review and report this bad experience. Somehow a manager in a retail store think is ok to speak to the customer that way.  I understand that for safety reasons customers should not enter an employee only area.

However, even without any back ground information he could easily just say, “this is an employee only area, can we have the discussion outside. ” Rather than yelling cross the store, making a scene, and totally disrespected to the customer.  His action embarrassed my family, his employee and himself.

Went in to look for figure skates and were helped by Eric, who was super helpful and gave us good advice on how to make the purchase. Staff in general was very helpful at this store.

Worst Sport Check ever. The cashier obviously having cold. Purposefully placing mixing items not in promotion with those being at full price so you figure out at the checkout or not. Stay safe, avoid this shop.

Came in looking for a pair of shoes for my daughter and the lady that helped was helpful. I would definitely come back again and their shoe selections are great too.

Always have to wait a while to find someone to sharpen my skates, even when there is no line. And half the time they have an excuse. “Too busy today” “can you pick them up tomorrow? ”

Waited in line for 20 minutes to pay for my stuff. Mentioned that I couldn’t find any swimming trunks and was told by NEHA that they’re all gone. I go to the back to get my skates sharpened, see hundreds of swimming trunks, had to wait in line for 20 minutes again to buy them. Don’t lie because you can’t be bothered to work that little bit more. I’m a human too and I have stuff to do. Don’t appreciate having my time wasted.

The manager was not cooperative, he refused the return because the item came ripped and he said we did it and its the second time he did the same to us, first time he made us travel all the way to Abbotsford for picking the item and this time he refused the return for silly reason and was blaming it on the manufacturer. I won’t suggest anyone to this sports check.

I waited forever for someone to come and help me get a shoe size. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes out of pure curiosity. I was even making eye contact with store employees and they just pretended we weren’t there. Other customers were all waiting for the same thing. I ended up leaving and buying the same shoes from boathouse for $5 cheaper.

If you make it difficult for customers to spend money in your store they’re gonna go elsewhere. If you can’t provided the basics then why wouldn’t customers just use amazon? This isn’t the first time this has happened either. The last 2 or 3 times I’ve gone in to buy shoes I’ve ended up leaving because of poor customer service.

One of the best stores in all of Canada. Not the store per se (which is great) but the people here are wonderful. Great managers with great attitude, Jorge, Mike, Kyle to name a few and also Dan the Man which is great. I wouldn't shop for sports stuff anywhere else. Sneakers, shirts, winter jackets, bikes, accessories etc. I all buy from here and if by any chance they don't have something in stock my next stop is their.ca website. Always a pleasure shopping here. Thank you.

Went in to buy a pair of runners and found that they were lacking in my size for the products I was looking for. I suggested that I would go online to find the product and took a picture of it on my phone. The saleman then said that he could scan it send it to my email then I wouldn't have to deal with looking for it and could put it directly into my cart. Well, the product was ordered and came within 3 days and cheaper to boot. I've ordered stuff from Walmart and Costco online and it's never been less than 2 1/2 weeks before it shows up (Walmart states up to 10 days but the product came in 90 days)

It's a outdoors stuff store. You can buy any outdoor activities and sports needs. When the store is on sale, the price is nice.

Stood in the shoe section for about 10 mins waiting for an associate, but nobody came over. It was very slow, and the workers were standing around and chatting with each other. One associate was walking by so I said "excuse me" in order to get some help, and he completely ignored me and walked into the back. I think it is unlikely that he did not hear me. Never received any kind of help or acknowledgment so I left.

The worse service I ever had in my life. I purchased an item online and they shipped my the wrong size. Went to store for exchange, the cashier’s attitude and service was so awful! There was no enough staff there for assistance, and I asked one lady to get me a staff for sporty shoes, and her tone sound like so weird “ o. Kay. ” I know it is Sunday early morning.the worse part is still the casker. No smile but only bossy command. No apologies and very rude attitude thoughtout the whose service. Will never visit this store any more.

The store is nice but is very hard to get any help from the attendants in the shoe section. It looks like they are always avoiding customers.

I took my skis for to get waxed and sharpened and was told I would need new bindings as well since they cannot work on the old bindings I have on the skis. I was charged for the binding replacement, wax and sharpen.

I was told that my skis were ready to pick up a week later. When I picked them up, none of the work they said they would complete was done.and I still had the old bindings on the skis. Zero communication about this matter and the guys at the shop almost had me walk out of the store with me charged $$$ with none of the work done. I would think twice about bringing anything here again. The Sportchek in Lougheed Mall had better service!

Went in to buy a couple pairs of skates 20 plus minutes to get an attendant. Then was told the the sharpening would be 45 to an hour but ended up being 1 and a half hours. Tried to voice my disappointment to the counter staff but they don't care! Saw staff more interested in their cell phones and chit chatting with each other then helping. Was told it was slow today would hate to endure a busy day.need more staff or maybe some management! What a waste of my day!

I went there on a friday night for emergency ski goggle search 15 minutes before closing. Associate Zac was amazing he showed me everything i was looking for and i came to a decision. Time really didn't matter for them. Great customer service. Thank you Zac for the help. Will definitely shop again

Lack of staff and the ones there do not help. Just walk past you or stand in groups and talk.
Happened more than once. Went to find if they had a pair of cleats in and took over 40min to get any sort of answer after asking for help 3 times.
