I was at the SportCheck Metropolis at Metrotown location a few weeks ago. Thank you Manager Nav for ensuring that I was assisted in finding the right shoe for my needs, you were so understanding and supportive. I was assisted by a gentleman named Buta, he was so professional and super knowledgeable as well he has such a positive attitude and is a amazing human being, I truly am happy with my shoes, they really have helped me when I go jogging and when I go to the Gym. I was at metrotown sportchek location, Lovejeet kaur helps us by applying triangle-master card and she was so helpful and nice I recommend everyone to go their and apply triangle card. We are so happy with our purchase and we will come back every time because of her.

One of the best branch I've been to so far. Staffs are nice willing to ask me what I need. Great experience spending some time here for shopping. Many great option from their shoes and clothes section. Location is convenient with transportation and it's inside the mall. Limited free underground parking in the mall.

They have a great selection of soccer, hockey and basketball gear and lots of good deals.
I have bought a few jerseys and soccer gear as well.
The location is unbeatable and the sales people are very friendly and helpful.

Very rude service from employee here Dec 26 around afternoon time. I went in to inquire about some boots and he was so smug and rude. Not even acknowledge or friendly and seemed to have an attitude problem to only the East Asian customers. Most likely racial as he was fine with Indian and other black customers. Very disappointed and shocked as this type of experience seems to be happening with increased frequency. Won’t ever be coming back here.

Sportchek customer service amazes me. I had the most pleasant experience from phone assistance to in store assistance purchasing. Big shout out to Daisy the store manager who assisted me with buying a pair of snowboard boots that were on sale in store but were regular price on the website. I got the help I needed very quickly and staff working there all have a big smile. Keep it up and thank you

Came to the store to do some exchanges. Some mistakes were made because I brought the wrong receipt. I was so frustrated because I was in a rush and so worried the amount will get wrong due to the wrong receipt. However, the cashier Jennifer (from her name tag), She is really helpful and tender! She calmed me down, explained the details of the amount, the procedures and what should we do next. I followed her steps and I feel so calm and safe. At the end, when we finally done all the exchange procedure and make the amounts right.
Afterwards, I have to make a purchase. I’m not sure how much I have in my Metro gift card. And there is no internet in the store. So I’m not able to check it. Jennifer, again, she saw my worries, and she helped me called the numbers and figure out my gift card amount so I can finish it. Not the first time have great experiences in the sport check store Metrotown with their very well trained staffs! Thank you for the great Experience!

I had the most amazing customer service from one of their sales advisors Ryan H! I think he plays lacrosse because although being very knowledgeable about all the different products in his department, he particularly had a lot of information about their lacrosse material. Ryan was super helpful and really kind and truly went the extra mile finding everything I needed and answering my many questions. It was super busy but Ryan was very attentive to all the customers looking for his help and was able to juggle all of us very smoothly. Thanks so much for all your help Ryan:)

Visited store yesterday in the morning around 10.30 am the girl standing in front of the store was not at all welcoming rolled her eyes as we entered and didn’t even reply back when I said hi and 2 mins later I saw her laughing and talking to other people entering the store. So strange I loved the location and visit often never happened this before I hope they will pay attention to employees behaviour towards customers.

I had the great experience in both metrotown and lougheed bike shops. I brought a bike from metrotown location but need to exchange it because of the size. Quentin at Metrotown location was super helpfully, knowledgeable and patient. Due to the low inventory of the small bikes, Quentin helped me check the different models of bikes and contact the lougheed location to get the bike to fit me the best. The staff in lougheed location helped me reserve the last bike and went through the payment smoothly. I will definitely go back their bike shop for the extraordinary Customer service.

I've never in my life seen a hardworking employee as Buta, this guy is running around trying to help everyone and answering all questions. I feel sorry for the guy but he still remains friendly with everyone he talks to, and hes running around trying to help everyone. Give this poor guy a raise! I've never seen anyone work as hard!

This 5 star review is based on this one particular experience. Based on all my years experiences with them, they are more consistently a 3.

Today I went in for new runners. As usual there were more shoppers than associates in the section, but Buta did a fantastic job helping me. Any one who has worked retail, will know how easy it is to get flustered when there is 1 of you and 4-5 customers all wanting help at the same time. I could see he was becoming a little overwhelmed, but he kept his cool and apologized for me having to wait until he could help me. The apology was appreciated but unnecessary as I understood the situation. While trying out my shoes, I observed him being knowledgeable and attentive to the other customers. Once he was able to again, he helped me with my shoes and I was happily on my way. Thanks Buta!

I was there this morning looking for shoes for my daughter and absolutely anyone at the store knew if they hold the size I was looking for, it was ridiculous, and then they send me to the kid’s section because they were going to send someone to help me, we waited for 10minutes and no one ever showed up. We left to never come back!

They broke my hella expensive racket while string it today which was sad but i just wanna say HOW AMAZING THE MANAGER IS. He agreed to compensate me big time and even offered to compensate me more that i payed for my original one because i needed my racket ugently and the closest one that was avalible was slightly more expensive. He was super friendly throughout the process so far. I don't exactly blame him for the broken racket because it is quite a technical task with the 2 diffrent thickness of strings but overall their customer service is absolutely amazing. So emmanuel if you see this, thank you so much for being so patient and understanding with the whole situation: D

The staff were kind and somewhat helpful. However the layout of the store is really confusing and maze like. It is grouped by brand so going in for sport shorts and not caring about what brand made shopping rather challenging. Also their selection of cleats is dismal. One small pice of a wall display and that's it. Only 1 women's style that was on clearance and had 1 or 2 sizes available. No shade, just an unfortunate layout and poor selection.

Honestly - If I could give SportChek 2 reviews I would.

The first review would be 1star. I went yesterday at 6PM - The store was damn near EMPTY.

I knew the exact shoe I wanted - I asked for help. Nobody came for 20-25 minutes. When the employee (Male/5'6/skinny fat/with long hair) finally came, he brushed me off for another 10 minutes & when he finally came to help me, I was fed up & decided to check out the other stores. He made a comment saying:

"Oh, you changed your mind - it's an expensive shoe most people don't get it anyways"

Since Sportchek was the only store that carried the shoes I wanted, I was forced to come back & I dealt with an amazing rep (blonde/5'10/female) She got me the shoes, she listened to & even talked to her manager to get me discount since there was a cosmetic issue.

The manager was also amazing to deal with.

Very disappointed experience there. I went there with my boyfriend he had heart surgery and we need heart beat measuring watch as someone recommended they have the watches. No one helped us we waited long. I went to one lady there and asked for help. Her response was which watch? What help? Like man, we are here to buy something if you don’t know then just say I don’t know. She was rude I forgot the name. We went to other guy working there he said I will call someone to help you he didn’t showed up again.
I live close by so I prefer going there but after this experience

They have a good variety of sports equipment/apperal. The people at the entrance are always nice but the ones in where you try the clothes are always in a bad humor. There is never someone in that area. They need to clean them because it smells bad and the mirrors are always dirty. But the staff in the rest of the place are good and willing to help.

Racist… a lady came yelling at us looking at our daughter using one of the bikes saying we cannot try it… Could have been polite.looks like she didn’t like color of our skin or we were too cheap to afford it…

It’s ok if we are not allowed to try out anything, but try to be kind and polite…

Needed a new helmet for sons hockey, the greeter/girl at the front section was helpful in pointing out where I needed to go. So many times other stores are just like “Over there” pointing to half the store, she actually took the time to make sure I knew where I was going. I was impressed. In the hockey section the guy was helpful and stuck by to make sure I had what I needed before I left. Super appreciated! Then at the checkout - my son already didn’t want to be out at Metrotown and was unhappy being there - the long dark haired cashier entertained him while I paid. She treated him like a customer, played along in “selling” him back his Nintendo DS he brought with him, and even wrote him a cute little receipt. He was so happy!
I value customer service because I am always in a rush with jam packed days and just need to get things done without a hassle. The staff did great!

My girlfriend and I had been thinking of getting a set of snowboard for a long time and were stressed on doing research.

We were lucky to have run into Adib from the snowboard/ski department whom helped us throughout the entire process while providing very tailored services and knowledgeable advices to choose gears.

I rarely ever write reviews. But we were blown away from Adib’s effort and expertise. I felt that I have to recognize him!

Update: went back to the store and asked a salesman, was told that you have to get the inserts from service department. They could’ve put a sign there.

If you’re getting Burton snowboard with channel system from here, pay attention. The guys at checkout won’t give you that small box of channel insert even after you ask them. All the Burton boards are missing that small box on the side that comes with them.

I want to thank Keshavi, from Sport Chek Metrotown. Her customer service was excellent, as she helped me resolve a pricing error.

Keshavi was stationed at the cashier when I was about to pay for my Nike Flex 2.0 shorts yesterday (2021-07-10). The register came out to $84, which surprised me because the price tag had a sale sticker of only $45. I became worried I might not get the sale price, or that Sport Chek may not be accountable for the price error. Fortunately, she kept me calm, and tried her best to help me, to inform her supervisors of the issue. After a couple minutes of checking, she and her department head performed an override, and acknowledged the sale price. The process was smooth, and hassle-free. I was very happy!

PS. Shout out to the staff manning the Fitting Rooms. I saw it's tough to control the line of customers, with half the rooms available due to COVID measures.

Bought a Fitbit Versa 3 and decided to return it a couple hours later when I realized it wouldn't sync with my fitness app. Sportchek told me they can't refund any Fitbit device and told me to contact Fitbit support. Fitbit support tools me it's only returnable at the store! So I went back to the store and told them this, they still wouldn't return the watch.

If you are selling things which cannot be returned you should legally have to mention this. I will never be returning to any sportchek after this and will be telling all my friends.

I want to thank the manager Kris/Chris For helping me with a warranty process of a defective badminton racket. They didn't have the one I originally purchased but he was willing to exchange of a similar value item seamlessly! I buy a lot of rackets from Sportchek and definitely will be coming back!

I like the manager of this store as he was very kind to me and spent a long time helping me select what I wanted. The selection of shoes in this branch is way better than other branches of Sport Chek. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Someone brought my shoes after an hour, but there was a big line this time, and the Manager or Supervisor (the guy in a black shirt) was sending people to the cashier from the other side of the line, even though he knew people were bored in the line. Customer service at this location is the worst not in Vancouver but the universe, probably.

I’m disappointed with what I have found with sport check during these tough times. Unfortunately I don’t think that this issue is isolated to one store only and may be a wide spread Sport Check policy
I purchased shoes that were not to be part of the Boxing Day sale. As these were the last shoes in the style and size I bough online for pickup. I never would have discovered the issue had the store not been so busy due to Boxing Day. I found the shoes I had bought and paid for yesterday in store for 20% less then online. When I asked why they were showing online that they were not included in Boxing Day sale I was told it was because they were NOT on sale but rather just able to be purchased in store for less. DURING COVID THEY ARE ENCOURAGING IN STORE PURCHASES over online purchases by offering less expensive purchase prices to customers in store! SHAME ON YOU SPORT CHECK! When I mentioned this to the store manager I was given the exchange and discount price and rushed out of the store but not before I was denied the exchange for 45 minutes in store. I felt like a hostage!

I want to thank Metrotown Sport Chek Manager Daisy for what I consider top-knotch, professional customer service. I lost the receipt for a $200 jersey (Christmas gift for my son) which ended up being the wrong size. Receipts are usually emailed to me also but of course this one did not come. My son went back to the store to EXCHANGE for the proper size with screenshot of my bank transaction and tags still on the jersey but they couldn’t do the exchange. I called shortly after and spoke to Manager Daisy explaining everything, she immediately understood and said no problem, he could come back and she’d do the exchange right away.

Daisy was pleasant and professional over the phone and easy to talk to. She listened carefully to me, acknowledged my issue, explained the store’s position, then she quickly took action to resolve the situation to my full satisfaction. This was the type of customer service that’s not always easily found in today’s market place and she should be commended. In my opinion she is an excellent representative of the store/brand and Sport Chek’s commitment to their customer’s satisfaction.

The product range and availability at this store are pretty good.
However, online order pickup (which the point is to be seamless), they make you line up outside the store. You then get herded into store, have to wait in the line at the register for them to then again redirect you to the service center on the other side of the store. Never again.
Customer service is severly lacking the ethics of they actually care at all.
Surely as I stated to the clerk, staff coming to meet me outside the store would be more distancing-friendly method.

Shohin is the best employee at this store, he was extremely helpful when he was helping me buy some new shoes for my two boys. I don't know their sizes because it's my wife that usually does the shopping, but he was able to figure it out and the shoes fit perfectly on them! Best customer service I've had in a long time.

Very poor service. They shipped a used and broken product, so I had to go to the store to return it to find out that they won't refund but give me credit instead. They don't have any replacement, so I'll have to spend the money again in a different place. Anyway, when I decided to buy something else with my credit they had their fitting room with no previous advice. I wish never have to come back to this place.but I have this useless store credit. Don't buy here, it's basically a trap. Anywhere else would be better.

Terrible experience. I got the shoes that I like from Nike for $129 but at the sport Check was $250. Even tho I show them the online price but they didn’t price match. Highly recommend to check the online price first and then shop at this location, however if you check the prices online you won’t deal with this terrible customer service at this location.

I want to preface by saying I rarely and often resist posting negative comments or reviews but I am pretty dissatisfied with the level of customer service today. Last night, I bought my daughter a pair of ski goggles. This morning I discovered a crack or scratch on the lens. No problem, I will buy a new pair at the mountain and return this one to Sport Chek. Solid return or exchange policy right? Yes, usually. I have spent thousands of dollars here over the years and well over a thousand dollar last week on ski equipment for myself and my daughters. I take the unused goggles to customer service and they request the manager. No empathy, no apology, it’s my fault. I should have ripped the box apart and examined it before I bought it. Really? The goggles were probably damaged when the security tag was removed. No, we didn’t use it once and returned it. That was the other accusation. How insulting and infuriating. Right to my face! I was very patient until this happened. No, I have better things to do than drive here and venture into a busy mall during Covid. So, he (Anthony) grumpily agree to give me in store credit which I was totally fine with anyway as I had decided to buy myself new goggles after today’s ski trip. Another $280 at this store. Even the customer service rep showed better understanding of the situation and don’t make excuses for your manager’s poor disposition. “He’s like that, just depends on the day”. Find a different job. This is not how you treat loyal customers or demonstrate leadership as a store manager. I know people are stressed during these times but it’s not ok to take your frustrations out on customers or diminish the brand that I thought was pretty solid this far.

I went to the metro town store to buy a basketball hoop for my son, and quickly found it. I spent a total of 6-7 mins in the store. Within that time frame 3 different staff members I passed offered to carry the heavy box for me to the counter or to my car outside. AWESOME SERVICE!

When I tried to assemble the system at home, one of the long tubes was damaged and wouldn’t fit the adjoining tube. I returned to the store within a couple hours and explained the problem. Service/return department quickly gave me a new replacement part. Great service recovery!

This is only my third purchase from a Sport Chek store but I am so impressed with my last visit, I will be buying our future sports related items from you guys, not Amazon.

Terrible place if you need to bring your kids shopping for shoes/sneakers. I went here on a Sunday morning as soon as the store opened, gave the clerk 6 pairs of shoes for sizes, she brought back 1 pair, and then disappeared for over half an hour. I asked 2 other clerks during that time to follow up on the request, one told me the clerk was on the phone, another ignored me and kept walking. 35 minutes later, the original clerk comes back and tells me no sizes were available for the shoes (6 different pairs of shoes mind you). No apologies, no explanation. Management also of zero help with request, didn't even double check to see if Clerk was correct. If I didn't have my kids with me, who were eagerly awaiting their favorite picks, I would have left long before 35 minutes. Went next door to Kids Foot Locker, service was excellent, we were in and out in 10 minutes with lots of selection to choose from and great staff. Do yourself a favor, go next door to Kids Foot locker if you need shoes for your kids.

Went this place two weeks ago. Asked a size, the clerk said he will call someone to help me, no one showed up. Waiting few min, no one showed up. Asked other clerk, the clerk said i am helping other customer, still no body showed up. It's been 10min waiting, not only me but there were other customers looking for someone who can help them. I just left.

I'm all for safety in the Covid era but the manager here has the staff on extreme alert. I can hear the open walkies 'someone in the Nike section, NIKE SECTION, SANITISE EVERYTHING' so loudly. You turn and see 3 staff running towards you questioning what you touched. (I hadn't touched anything) I tried the one DT, much better! They explain the rules and leave you to it. Probably best to just shop online though!

This location has something to offer for everybody, from apparel to accessories and outdoor equipments.

There’s been a pattern in friends and family discount too, which never happened in the past, which is great.

Currently, apparel trials is prohibited. So, be sure about your size, you can return/exchange anyways. But who would want to make multiple trips, right? !

Online store has great collection too. Easy to place an order and pick it up.

Out of all the sports check I’ve been at in lower mainland, this store stands out in customer service appreciatively.

All the staff from cash to sales and service were pretty helpful even when it was close to their store closure. It’s hard to come by such good team in retail.

I came to mall Sun noon~1pm time.

I locked my bicycle at the metro mall parking lot. A bike thief was trying to loose the screws and take the front wheel off to steal the bike, but the thief failed. Maybe the bike thief realized the lock was not only tied up with the front wheel. So I push my bike to sportcheck (which I buy my bike, the only place I know) to ask for help tightening up screws.

I’m really appreciated their work shop staffs’ great service, good Enthusiasm and passion to Customers. They help me get my bike tightened up right away. It may be a small second thing but it shows a big heart for everyone who needs help.

Thank To whoever the tall Caucasian staff with the kindness. Im sorry I didn’t know ur name.
