Came here to get ski boots and skis. We told the guy it was our first time so we needed lots of guidance. He handed us a pair of ski boots and disappeared, never to return again. The fitting area consists of a single, two person bench surrounded by boxes and clutter. After sitting there waiting for the salesman to return so we could ask him questions about the $800 worth of ski equipment we'd potentially be buying, we decided instead to go to another store where they'd be more helpful. (Shout-out to sports junkies)

Only one person Gage was very helpful who had to help so many people. We were there for 2/5 hours no help full customer service at all! Lack of storage.

Literally the messiest and dirtiest store I've been in, in a long time. Stuff was thrown around everywhere making it unshoppable, none of the staff were friendly or helpful. Half the clothing had marks
On them and the promo signage was not accurate. The lady at cash kept pushing the triangle card and loyalty card onto me even after I said no many times. Not a good experience.

Had a great experience. Needed to get my skates moulded, an a nice older man in their skate department helped me right away and even gave me advice for their parking as I had no idea the store had underground customer parking. He was a great help! Thank you.

Exceptional customer service in the ski and snowboarding department - on a very competitive block to buy alpine ski gear and equipment.

Andrew and Andy (technician) were helping me choose skis, ski boots, poles and a helmet. They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and attentive, and provided guidance while letting me be a semi - picky customer. They weren't pushy, just helpful.

The payment systems were failing us when I was trying to pay (which took some time), but they managed and were helpful in the process. (Advice to head office: Upgrades are needed to the payment system in the Snowboard/Ski shop)

A very delightful experience overall and I can't wait to try out my new skis! Thanks for your help guys!

Friendly and helpful staff. I needed help looking for something I saw that was advertised on the Sport Chek website and asked for assistance in looking for the items. Staff went round the store looking for the item for me.

In the store for over 30 minutes trying to find some training gear. Not a single staff member acknowledged me even after making eye contact. Couldn’t find my size in anything (everything on the racks was XL.) Won’t be going back.

I had good experience with the store in Victoria and thought I’d try it out in Vancouver. Worst layout and impossible to find what you need. Also, been wondering in the shoe section for “years” trying to get someone to help me find a pair of shoes and nobody bothered to ask.

Rude, rude staff here, I guess this is what happens when you hire fresh out of high school kids for minimum wage. I was there on Thursday June 9th and tried to use a 10% off coupon and the young lady at the til rolled her eyes and I literally had to ask her if she can scan it and after doing so, said it didn't work or was invalid. What? Whatever, didn't want to argue I guess the conversation she was having with the asian girl prior was more important and I bothered them.
Oh, and by the way, this was 2pm in the afternoon on a Thusday and I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE.so needless to say, it's not like she was busy. Do yourself a favor, if you have to go to Sportchek, do your homework and know what you want and go buy it and leave. That way you won't have to deal with the rude staff.

Its a bit different than the rest of the locations i have been to. You might not find what you want. And i do not like their customer service, very unprofessional. I was there and didn’t realize they close at 8, it was 2minute to 8 and i wanted to buy a swimsuit, so final sale, they said i cant return and exchange, i asked if i can try it on, but they didn’t try to help, and even the supervisor was watching but didn’t say anything.

Ummm, hello? Customer service!

Good selection of Sports equipment and apparel. Staff are not the best here. Zero help with children's shoes and sizing - when I asked for help measuring my son's foot, I was told the foot device to measure wasn't accurate and just buy the size he wears.
I asked another staff member to help me locate socks and was just waved off in the direction of. Not impressed. Will likely not return to this particular branch. I visited on a Thursday morning and it was not busy at all

I was told I had a pair of bindings on hold, came to the store and it had been sold.

Staff and management were completely indifferent to rectifying the issue.

The place was garbage when I worked there ten years ago and it's somehow gotten worse.

The cashier woman had a poor attitude. When I paid, the cashier had a serious expression on her face. "May I know what it is? " I replied when she inquired if I had Triangle Rewards. She rolled her eyes and urged me to pay using my credit card, but she didn't explain what Triangle Rewards was.

How could your employees expect customers to be familiar with all of your programmes when hundreds of thousands of other businesses have similar programmes with different names? This is completely absurd. I've seen a lot of heartless shopkeepers, but I've never seen somebody roll their eyes at a simple query.

I had previously shopped at another Sportchek, and the cashier lady was incredibly pleasant and patient. The shop manager of this branch clearly failed to provide qualified staff training.

If this review allows me to give 0 star, I wouldn't choose 1 star.

Never shopping here again.

Bought soccer cleats. Tried them on a turf for 5 minutes because there's no way to get a feel for them in the store. They would not even give store credit.

I've spent a lot of money here and you will not see another dollar of my business.

Were just happy we found the snowboarding MIPS helmet today to replace the old one in the brand we love = Oakley. Perfect for our visit to Whistler this week. Service was prompt! But we didn't find a pair of goggles not much selection unfortunately.

In not too happy with this place because as soon as I walked in the lady glared at me and I felt I was being judged
Then when I went to the shoe section I asked the gentleman to assist me and I looked over and that same lady was peaking around the corner like I was doing something wrong but I was just standing there looking at the shoes
So I'll be taking my business else where
No one should ever have to feel discriminated towards

Today I was in sport check (Robson). I had some porches that Sport check site canceled it. But I was so lucky that some gentleman (toury) in 3th floor, I gust his name.he was on shift. He was so nice and he sold another ski hamlet to me with best price. I want say thank you for his kindness and customer support service. I hope he will be one day manager in some big stores.

There are various clearance sell shoes and other stuffs. I got training shoes from Nike at $99. It looks so nice and comfy. Staffs are very helpful. If I wanna buy some things more, I’ll come back again.

Great service by staff, convenient to reach by transit. Parking lot is TERRIBLE as it's super narrow, can easily scratch your car entering and exiting the parking lot. For security, you need to call the branch from the intercom to get into the parking lot from the rear and get entry code to get back into building from the street level where the elevator is located, back down to the parking lot.

I have to agree with previous reviewer, the store "manager" Albert was rude and patronizing. I have spent so much at Sportchek going ham on online shopping during COVID. I did not appreciate him insinuating that my return of a few items was fraudulent in some way (my printer had broken down so I had to screen shot my receipts) definitely needs some customer service training. Just a heads up Albert you are never going to get away with that when dealing with a 57 year old articulate and opinionated woman - show some respect. Jacqueline came to the rescue - you were amazing, patient respectful and totally turned the experience around for me, thank you.:) 0 stars for Albert - 5 stars for Jacqueline

Been here twice. Both times, stock issue on footwear size 12+. Both times having to chase people to get any service. Just becomes a time waste.

Sport Chek and. Friendly People Chek. I went to try on some snowboard boots and the person helping was helpful and informed! The manager, Darin, was especially wonderful, he went out of his way to make sure I got a pair of boots and was very accommodating.

Staff is really focus. Thats nice regardless the stock in the store. Sometimes an area where people could try their sizes and then order online would be a good idea. So we avoid unnecessary orders.
Also when ordering online id would be nice to have a longer window to cancel or change the order.
I order the wrong size for my wife shoes and i ended up returning and re ordering again.
This could've been avoided online.

Worst customer service at this location. Sales associates were not helpful and were lazy and disinterested since it was 45 minutes to closing. Manager Albert was quite rude and disrespectful. If you need help with anything, try to go to a different location.

For a place to inspire you to play sports and be one of the few places to buy sporting equipment, it’s not very motivational, especially when they don’t have sizes available, and for the prices, plus there is a knowledge gap. Would like to have more options in Vancouver.

Customer service at checkout is not good. Not friendly or seem to be on top of the checkout process. Asks how you're doing and when responding back politely asking the same question back out of courtesy, not a single response back. Seems like forced script from training with no enthusiasm for position of customer relations at all. Lots of reviews mentioning issues with customer service. Not far from accurate. Didn't go into store with a microscope.in fact just the opposite as I was not aware of any of the issues from low inventory to bad customer service. Attitude from cashier leaves a less than desired experience of this particular Sportcheck. Don't normally review however this sportcheck needs to step it up or will go out of business. Maybe they are already in the process of new franchisee ownership?

I managed to get two pair of training shorts there yesterday (puma, UA). Staff is always around to help you out and give you answers to your questions. There's lots of sanitizer and most people in the store had masks.

The change rooms are closed due to the covid situation so you can't try anything on. The policy I was told is you can buy it, try on at home, and then take it back if it doesn't fit. Luckily both my purchases fit great.

Overall I've been coming here for a couple years and the store always has what I need and staff are always around. It does feels like a smaller location so a lot of merchandise on the sportchek website will always be out of stock here. So if your looking for something specific at this store don't get your hopes up. Although with that being said I'd still recommend the store because you might find something else that matches your needs.

I went to buy runners after my current pair collapsed after only 6 months (so not in a good mood and never buying FILA again). The gentleman in the footwear dept was so helpful and took such care to make recommendations and explain the pricing he restored my faith in the whole sportswear idea. It is so nice to meet someone who cares about what they sell.

If you want to buy a bike, choose another spot! Worst service ever. I recently purchased a bike online and tried to call this store. Firstly, my bike came defective. Secondly it has been an absolutely pain trying to get them to spend time fixing it or trying to blame me that I lost a part. How can I loose a part when I didn't even ride the thing!? Stay away from buying bikes online. Edit: The bike was purchased online when the store wasn't open during COVID

Really disappointed in the service. I drove to three different stores, one closed early and gave no notice, the third left me waiting for over ten minutes for someone to assist me in the Fitbit section. I wasted two hours and went home without the product I wanted.

Horrible customer service. I returned an online order of two pairs of shoes today as they did not fit despite using Sportchek's online shoe size estimator. I asked to order a size down. The employee called over a shift lead/supervisor/ manager and he explained to me that this could not be done because in order to place a new online order I would have to touch the pin pads etc. (?) This sounded absurd because anyone using a card that did not have a tap option would have to as well. Clearly they did not want to put in the effort of having to clean the screens between customers. I then asked since the sale was no longer happening if they could honour the online pricing I originally received, if I placed the order on my mobile right away and gave them the order #. He said NO and that I would physically have to bring in the shoes once they arrived to receive a price adjustment. So to summarize, they were asking me during a pandemic to come in to the store a second time just to receive a price adjustment even though I had the new order already placed. Essentially, they are asking customers to expose themselves again when this could easily be fixed in store that day. If this wasn't something they could have done on their computers, they could have simply called the customer service line and offered to have this sorted out for me while I was in store, or let me leave and contact me once it had been arranged (this would be good customer service). Instead he told me that there was nothing he could do and that I can call customer service to complain. Well I certainly did and within 5 minutes they were able to provide me a price adjustment. This location clearly lacks customer service skills BIG TIME (as proven in others' reviews as well).

Very disappointing experience! It’s okay to make mistakes by forgetting to apply the 25% announced on your website but when you try to cover in rude way by saying “you should’ve informed the cashier that you wants to redeem the discount! This is absolutely not acceptable specially when you found out that the person who was talking to you is the manager!
The minimum I’d say you are best example of bad customer service!

Staff that work here don't care about customers needs. Most of them are very young (early twenties) not that it is bad, however, one girl was on her phone texting in shoes while she was supposed to be helping customers find shoes. I feel like most of the sales staff have this overall "I don't care to help you" because it is not commission based. Won't return. Read the other reviews.

I was planning to get some running shoes. I knew what model, size, for the specific shoes I wanted, it would've been so easy, so two staff member walked by and asked me if I needed help, I asked if someone could get me the shoes, both said they were going to get 'someone else'. I was waiting for 15 minutes and nobody showed up so I asked one of the ladies who just kept on walking by doing basically nothing she could pass the message to the manager's that I had left because nobody was able to help me. I will never be back there. I ended buying them somewhere else.

This place really sucks. I’ve stepped into this place multiple times over the years and have always had the same experience: never any stock in basic athletic clothing in normal person sizes (S, M) ; huge store with no customers, yet staff ignores you if they walk by you, otherwise always have to flag one down and they do not care at all “oh yeah we don’t have anything sorry” and they walk off - pretty useless. This place is not worth the time finding and the change for 5 minutes parking. Go somewhere better and spend your dime.

Cane here looking for two items that the website said was in stock at this specific location. Neither were in stock. Came here for a 25% women's Nike clothing and shoe sale (sponsored ad for sportchek on FB) and the sales associate and manager looked at me like I was crazy. Went to the Metrotown location on the same day and indeed the sale was on there.

Sportchek is garbage these days. They don't have any selection, no one knows anything in the stores, the website is wrong and when I was in the store today and they told me to website to figure things out. So mad, try somewhere else for your sporting goods.
