Great south Indian fare with a lot of options of dosa. The sambar (spicy lentil soup) served with the dishes is very tasty and the mark of a good south Indian restaurant. Food is usually fast, despite the place being at capacity. Parking is easy and it is vegan friendly. Get any masala dosa with the masala on the side and Gobi manchurian.

Stumbled on this very busy place by accident, but were wonderfully surprised. Shared a Manchurian dishes, vegetable korma, and two types of dosas among 4 people. It was the perfect amount of food, and everything was delicious. The restaurant was packed, but we never had to wait long for service.

This is a great place for South Indian food. The dosas, idlis and vadas are amazing and really match the taste in India. Have not tried the north Indian fare but don't intend to, either. The accompaniments - coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar are kept at your table to help yourself to seconds. We ordered ghee dosas and were thoroughly happy with our food. Please dine in if you can help it as dosas will lose their crispiness with time. All items are reasonably priced too!

Jain friendly - They have a Jain menu and our Jain friends were delighted to have so many tasty options to choose from!

Better than best authentic South Indian food. Ven pongal just melted away in my mouth. Sambar and chutney were just out of the world.

Most authentic South Indian food in the whole of Lower mainland, I have tried so many South Indian places, but Sri Periyava is the ultimate. It transports me to South India almost instantly. Excellent food, such authentic flavours. Rava Masala Dosa is the crispiest ever, Idlis and Vadas are so well made. Idiyappam is their another hit dish. Also the ambience is so satvik, they play Rudram, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Aigiri Nandini during the first half, these traditional chants generate such positivity while relishing the delicious food they curate. Filter coffee is equivalent to the filter coffee I had at Hatti Kaapi at Bangalore last time, I like it strong. This place is a blessing for people with good taste and those who want to experience genuine south Indian delicacies. Do give it a try if you want to experience the true culture and food of South India.

The dosas we ordered were simply outstanding. And the tamarind rice was a perfect complement to the dosas - tangy, fragrant, and packed with spices.

What really impressed us was how quickly our food was prepared and served. Despite the busy crowd, our dishes arrived at our table in no time at all, piping hot and ready to be devoured.

Great south indian restaurant. We tried Dosa, idly and Vada - all the items are awesome in taste.

It is one of the best dosa places in Surrey. They have wide variety of south Indian delicacies and were reasonably priced. We had a great time and ambiance felt like I was in restaurant back home.

Magnificent taste of the food. Chutney and sambar for me is best i have ever had till now. Love it, totally recommend it.

I tried their food first time the food was very delicious and the customer service is excellent the girl whose name is jashan she is very polite and she do the welcome with warm gestures.

Good food, but need actual servers to take orders at the table not online ordering at the table.causes confusion in my opinion.

The best dosa place is Surrey. Their staff and chef are amazing. They personally come and take your reviews. Jashanpreet is very polite and welcoming and definitely remembers repeat customers.

Today, we drove from Seattle for an authentic South Indian food. The food was super excellent. To top it, the hostess took care of us very well. I would love to go back soon.

We loved everything about this place! The restaurant was clean, seats were extremely comfortable, food was great but most
importantly, the staff were amazing. Specifically Kiran! She was always everywhere making sure everyone was
comfortable, had what they needed and were happy. She had such a passion for her job that it translated to pure excellence
in her job! Well done Sri Periyava Dosa Bhavan for employing such a remarkable staff member.

Amazing people and food

Edit: I’ve gone back probably 10 times now in the past 3 months. Can’t get enough of this place. Everything has been super tasty so far but their coconut chutney is the highlight for me. Soooo good!

Authentic South Indian dishes and lip-smacking dosas and pooris. However, I didn't give 5 rating as I wanted medhu vadas to be a little bigger in size for the price they charged. Nevertheless, the food and friendly staff left me in awe.

TLDR: not worth it.

4.8 stars? Ya that's what got me to this restaurant, but poor service (floor could be cleaner, didn't get me cutlery, long cooking times), food is decent (but on the oilier and saltier side) and nothing really stands out from the ambience perspective either. Good basic South Indian eatery but literally nothing beyond it, esp with those prices.

Just loved the taste of the food at this place. Since we've come here 4 months ago, we've been looking for that authentic dosa taste and only Periyava so far had it. Their pav bhaji was equally amazing too. I honestly got transported back to India for few minutes and then realized I'm not there. Coming from Bengaluru, our benchmark of finding good dosa is quite high and this place met it. I'm still deducting one star for hygiene though- our table and utensils were not exactly clean, please pay more attention on this part. The restaurant manager however was proactive, friendly and made sure we were happy. Will definitely visit again.

Just a constructive review….
The service and quality of food is degrading with time. It’s been a year now that I have been visiting this place for dine-ins but their quality of food is just poor. It was yesterday when we finally had a thought that we are not gonna come here back again.
We ordered Sev Puri and it was just worse….
Also, we ordered 2 Masala Dosas but instead got 1 Mysore masala….

This is HANDS DOWN the best south Indian place around vancouver. My husband and I love SI food and have been to pretty much all SI places around. They serve the best food. Their medu vadas are super fluffy and crispy, idlis super soft.we love their uttapams and dosas as well lol.we have tried pretty much everything from the menu. The owner is the most humble person i have ever met, so sweet and welcoming. The staff is very well behaved and warm as well.we go there every week sometimes twice a week & the drive from maple ridge is so worth it I have seen people complaining abt the old cutlery amd yes that can be improved but well the food is so great that it does not matter to me at least, what matters is they serve great food in clean dishes. Please do try them.

Loved their food! Ordered the idly plate, masala dosa, pongal and others with me ordered the rava masala dosa and the idly combo plate. Everyone’s food came out equally amazing. I also loved their service and attentiveness.

Food is delicious. But they need more servers and service should be fast. They have only one server, she is very friendly and nice.

Honestly I’ve tried many South Indian restaurants food in Surrey, but this is very authentic, the flavours are amazing, Dosa, Sambhar and the chutneys are very tasty and the filter coffee. Finally, something authentic which gives you the feel you’re in South India. Thank You! We are Happy customers, will visit again

One of the best south indian dishes ever in Canada! Awesome taste, friendly staff, great prices.

Residing in India for 25 years, had been to best south Indian restraunts. Then tried all Dosa places in BC over 6 years-Developed a sense - Nothing can beat the authentic taste. Everytime my sense got stronger - those places can replicate the dishes as close as possible but not exactly authentic one (s).
This place completely changed my sense " my authentic taste completely changed". With the first bite - Taste I developed over 25 years and having a strong belief that no one can replicate true taste of home country- This man (Chef, owner) at Periyava "Deleted all my memories of 25 years".
Thank you Periyava for a great food experience. Keep up the great work.

Dosas were bigger than us, and delicious!
Lassi was very tasty but portion was smaller than Others. Chai came 5 min after we finished.
All in all is very tasty and will be coming back

Taste is awesome. Specially best authentic sambar in town. Never miss indian food if this kind of taste is available. Also cost is reasonable.

Stopped by in Surrey and saw that this restaurant had good reviews. Decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. My husband ordered the onion masala dosa and i ordered the dosa combo. They were delicious. Service was good, the lady there was polite and made small talk during a busy lunch time, which was greatly appreciated! Would definitely recommend and come back should we be in town again! Thank you!

Idly vada sambarvada bisebelabath are really nice.
The sambar is unique. You can find this sambar quality in South Indian hotels only

This restaurant is the best I have been to. All the food is so delicious and awesome their. I am obsessed with this place it is awesom. The service and chef are so nice. It’s just the best.

Great food, ok ambience and can do better in the cutlery they serve the food in. Visited this restaurant based on rating. Ordered ghee podi masala dosa, rasam idli and filter coffee. Overall taste was good and authentic. Did not like the taste of tomato chutney that was served. Also the plates/ bowls in which we were served was chipped. Should surely improve on that front.

This is my go-to place. All South Indian dishes are made with quality ingredients which makes it very delicious. I highly recommend this place. No complaints!:)

I love eating south indian food here. Owner is respectful. They cover giving me complementary sweet dish wheny dosa was little overdone.

There dosa was really good! It was crispy, filling and flavorful! There sambhar was also really good, it wasn't runny like some places. The vada was nice and fluffy! Highly recommend trying this place:)

The best vegetarian restaurant in Surrey. So all the vegetarian guys, this is probably the best option for you as it serves a large variety of food and beverages and that too at low prices with high quality and taste. Believe me, the food is delicious and you'll definitely enjoy the food and the awesome service offered by them. So I, as a foodie would recommend you all to go and try it.

Very pleasant wait staff and clean restaurant.
Sambar was delicious - full of flavour with typical south indian style sambar with vegetables.
Onion uttapam soft, fluffy with no oil, and very subtle flavour.
Ravakesari and Payasam very delicious as well.
Chai was a waste of money. Needs to be cooked more.
