Beautiful church.
I participated in a Jewish jazz concert with a rabbi who delighted us with her singing
Also an excellent set.
That was at 4 p.m. On Sunday.
The same day at 7pm there was a wonderful relaxation and reflection meeting.
I was very grateful for both meetings.
If you are in Vancouver on a Sunday, don't miss these events.
Highly recommended.
In addition to the warmth of those who organize it. All free.

I’m biased as I’m a member and attend regularly, but this is warm wonderful community with a great mix of old and young, straight and gay, singles, couples, and families, all mixing and connecting. This is no ‘old and dying church - it’s a vibrant community with a wide range of programs, both on weekends and throughout the week. And to get a feel for what to expect on a Sunday, one of the ministers always opens the services with this: “we are an open-hearted, open-minded, inclusive church that walks in the path of Jesus because we long for greater peace, love and justice in the world. No matter who you are,
no matter who you love, all of you is welcome here. ” On top of all that there’s our beautiful cathedral style building that just completed a 2-3 year full restoration in 2022.

Went here to see the Vancouver youth choir, great acoustics and lovely to see what the youth choir is up to!

Fastest response time I've ever seen as I explain here:

First time I went there I couldn't find a parking spot. It's super hard to find a spot in that part of Vancouver and I had to drive around a few blocks without success until I ended up in front of the church for the second time.

Tired of driving around, I challenged God: "show me that you exist by giving me a parking spot. " Immediately a car pulled out of its parking right in front of St. Andrews. I parked and went in to listen to the service.

I have not seen such a fast response time near any other place of worship. If this does not make you believe in St. Andrews, I don't know what will.

Go many Sundays at 1600 to watch and listen to the jazz music. So many good musicians out there

The renovation of this church is spectacular! The high beams, stain glass windows and comfortable seating (no more pews) is awesome! Also the church is more wheelchair accessible now to other areas which is great! A truly wonderful experience being in this church and listening to music being sung by Chor Leoni.

Fabulous music, welcoming congregation. Large, traditional setting and even with the Covid limitations still get a sense of community.

We were at Saint Andrew's Wesley's United Church for Chor Leoni's Christmas concert. The church has recently undergone a renovation and restoration and looks magnificent! Although I don't know if this is a permanent change, the pews have been replaced with chairs which are extremely comfortable and made sitting through the performance even better. The acoustics of the church are wonderful and are an ideal venue for this type of concert. While it's a long ways off until the next Christmas concert, I would highly recommend this performance for next year, you will not be disappointed!

I tried phoning and emailing this church while visiting the Vancouver area right after Christmas. My husband and I were hoping to join in worship there. I’ve yet to get a response.

I find the service is boring as hell but the building itself is beautiful. Definitely a place a couple would consider as an ideal church-wedding venue to tie the knot! People are kind and courteous too and very open to all walks of life.

The most lovely of old Churches in the lower Mainland. All the Ministers there deliver a message of spirituality, self love and peace within. If I lived in Vancouver, I would attend regularly. It's also a terrific venue for us musicians as our jazz is very much appreciated at their Sunday Vespers, as I am privileged to play with a number of groups who perform at this service.

A beautiful space. An affirming, welcoming community of believers. Incredible acoustics for whatever performance may be presented there.

Of course, all of this when they aren't wrapped in plastic and have a roof over their heads!

In the mean time, check out the various venues the congregation is meeting at until that date. Because although the building is getting some "lifting" done, the church's spirits are being lifted elsewhere in anticipation for their return!

We attended the jazz vespers on Sunday. We felt welcome and a part of the community. Thank you for the wonderful music by Gabriel Palatchi from Argentina. Best vespers in Vancouver.

Tired of driving around, I wagered with God: "please show me that you exist by opening a parking spot. " Immediately a car pulled out of its parking right in front of St. Andrews. I swear I am not making this up. I parked and went in to listen to the service.

I do not attend services here and only go to see special events like choirs singing over the Christmas holidays. I enjoy the ambience and the coziness of the place.

I've never been to this Church, but I have read the reviews, seen the.photos and read about the people who run it and support it. I also read about the tragedy of the young girl being killed by a Syrian refugee that was sponsored by St. Andrew's Wesley United Church. I wish to take this opportunity to add my condolences and prayers to all who have been affected by this loss of life, including not just the family and friends of the victim, but also to those who are a part of the Church community. I can only imagine what a terrible shock this must have been and only hope that none of you are taking any of the negative comments I've seen here as well as in the press, as indicative of any wrongdoing or fault on your part. There is much anger in the world today and much of it is misdirected towards those whose only intention was to give a helping hand to those in need. One cannot always predict who may turn out to do wrong, despite one's best efforts. Even trained professionals have been wrong when assessing the probability of whether a criminal will re-offend. So I wish to say God Bless You All and all the best to you in your pilgrimage to the various places of worship over the next year or so. While St. Andrew's Wesley United Church is given it's new lease on life, what with all the renovations and such, I pray that the grace of God reinstill the Strength and Love in you that you all so rightfully deserve.
