St. Augustine's

Huge beer selection and most of it's quite good. Downside is you'll get the odd flat or skunky one, I guess because some of it doesn't move as quickly as the rest, but the servers are generally quite helpful if you ask for suggestions. Pizza's gotten a lot better as well.

This place serves the best veggie burger I've ever had. I'm not even vegetarian, but I start thinking about that yam, quinoa, and chickpea patty days before each visit. I also love that they still have a really long beer list, even while other places such as Rogue are cutting back to a much smaller selection. There are always enough interesting options to justify at least one tasting flight, and sometimes two. Always great service as well - our waiter last night went above and beyond to make sure we had a good view of the Canucks game.

One of the original craft brew pubs of Vancouver, this place continues to have one of the most expansive tap lists in the lower mainland. You're almost guaranteed to find something you'll love on their huge list of brews.

This is the type of bar I'm more used to. Having multiple TVs with different kinds of sports just sits right with me. If that's your type of vibe, this place is a great option (especially considering how close it's to the Skytrain station on Commercial).
They have a nice selection of beers. They also have cocktails but didn't try any. I went there for the beer.
Food choices are what you would expect from this type of bar: burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches, and the sort. Here lies the reason why it's not a 5 star review. I ordered the St. Augustine's Burger and the patty was overcooked and even somewhat burnt. I could have told the waitress about it, but I honestly was so hungry that I ate it. I mean, it's not like it was inedible, but yeah.
The only thing I can say about the staff is that they are very kind and always on the lookout in case you might need something else. The establishment is very clean, and that includes the washroom.
Overall, it was a really nice experience and I was able to both have a nice chat with my friend and also watch some NFL matches.

First time visit to Van and this place was everything i imagined. Cant wait to come back. The tap selection was off the charts, such great beer. Tried the pulled pork mac and cheese with the beers and it was delicious.

Enjoyed my meal here.the portion of fries we got was rather small, but they were really memorable! Tons of beer and cider selections, service was great, and I enjoyed the chicken sandwich.

I went there for for first time with my friend and the severs comes in and ask for our id to which I thought it’s required as we were gonna order drinks but at the same time she requested my credit card. I was shocked and was wondering why am I asked to show my credit card while other guest walked in they were not asked anything of that sort. It’s because I am a a person of colour. I never experienced racism from a restaurant. This was absolutely disgusting. I will never recommend anyone going there period. You better need to get your staff in check.

Super busy on a Saturday night, which is good for them but bad for me, lol. There could be a long wait.

My time at St Augustines was amazing! The service was outstanding and I loved the beer selection. Our server was also top notch.

Nice spot to catch up with friends after a movie at the Rio Theatre for VIFF. Good number of tvs to catch the Canucks game. Pretty bright, long tables if you’re going with a large group for an informal kind of gathering which is appreciated! Keeps things simple

No bad food for a pub, actually, their portions are big. Good selection of beers, although I didn't find any sour. Service was not good, the waitress was rude and pushy.

Sadly has gone downhill. Used to be the best nachos in Vancouver, now there’s hardly any cheese on them, you have to pay to add guacamole (used to be included and drizzled all over the nachos instead of in a pile in the middle), and they give you a smaller amount. They were truly amazing, had generous and multiple toppings on top AND on the layers below. They maintain an extensive and rotating beer selection. Used to come here regularly but no longer enjoy the food unfortunately.

The only suggestion I have is to setup a bike rack in front. I rode my bike from Burnaby and had to tie it to a tree. The server accomodated me and had me sit outside so I could keep an eye on my bike. I had a beer and quick snack, very yummy!

I thought this was funny and to share it. I dropped in for a beer after enjoying the Car Free event. I grabbed a seat and ordered the house beer and pulled out the ol cel phone and checked on the days events. I got my beer and almost half way through my beer I noticed a small fly floating in my beer. Yes, I should have looked earlier but I was glued to my cel til I actually looked at my beer. I stopped drinking and the waitress came and asked if everything’s good and I mentioned the fly. She asked if I can get me a new beer but at that point I lost my thirst for another and wanted to head out. She tooked the glass and headed off. She then came back with a bill and mentioned that I had dranked half the beer. Lol I just smiled, paid my bill, gave my usual 20% tip and headed out. I’m surprise she didn’t charge me for the additional protein with my drink.:). Anyways I’ll thought it was funny and it was way too nice of a day to be upset about anything.

I am going to miss my local watering hole after I move next week. But I will be sure to visit once the pumpkin beers are in rotation. Underrated patio in spite of the SkyTrain noise. Massive beer selection that varies it up. They don't really advertise as a sports bar, but for big events and games, like the Fifa World Cup, they sure will. Very cool staff, too.

Always seem to end up in the corner of the room despite how quiet it is!

Has happened a couple of times now where we're left for 5 - 10 mins plus after being seated. Not great service.

Decent drinks. Can't speak for the food.

Great beer choices, finger foods, pizza, burgers and other entrees served by very helpful attentive staff at very reasonable prices.

Their pulled pork nachos are my favorite and I also love the brussel sprouts. (also great beer but that goes without saying). Knocking it to 4 stars instead of 5 because the nachos are overpriced (although still damn good).

Update: it's still damn good

I've only gone around mid afternoon a couple times but I've had the starter rockfish tacos and they were delicious. The service has always been kind and fun, always great interactions. Depending on where you sit, the music can be a little to loud but I really enjoy this place to just sit and chat with friends.

Great food and facilitate a wonderful chess event every month!

Can’t comment on food much but it looks and smells great.
