I've always had amazing care at this hospital. Drs, nurses who truly care about their patients with respect and Dignity. And Thank You for standing your ground and choosing life over the governments genocide M. A. I. D. I feel safer traveling to you for care because you stood with your convictions against M A. I. D. Thank You

I came in with my son and they were very attentive and took my concerns seriously. The nurses, nursing unit clerks and Doctor were wonderful. Thank you for all that you do!

St Paul is the only hospital in DT area. Been to ER a couple of time, and staff and doctors are always nice and helpful. They also have some nasty patients given the central location and obvious homelessness issue. I have huge respect for the medical team here.

First time for me using this service in Canada. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect and I was a little bit worried, but even if we spent most of our day there, the attention received was excellent, we were so lucky that everyone was very helpful and kind.

I went in to the hospital ER and received emergency surgery right away. All the staff were amazing and I owe my life to them. All the nurses and doctors were amazing. I am so grateful to have this level of care in Vancouver. I can’t believe how lucky I am. Thank you St. Paul’s.

The staff (except two) are extremely wonderful. They truly took care of my husband as needed. One thing I do not like is they do not take care of the patients hygiene. I went in from the start daily, and I showered and shaved my husband, otherwise it would not be done. True story.
Within in a month my husband was in this hospital 3 times. They are kind and know what they are doing.

Staff at the hospital are very caring and polite. I’ve admitted twice and was very satisfied with my stay.

Had a very good experience in the ER department on a Monday night. The emergency room here is crazy busy every night it sounds like, but the staff are so kind, cool and collected. Thank you for your for such good care.

I spent a Monday night at St Paul's Hospital Emergency Room.and I survived.   The ER door is in the Ambulance Bay, which faces Burrard Street.   A security guard will greet you at the door and ask what kind of help you need.   I had a chemical burn on my hands.   It's a long and embarrassing story, like all health problems, because you have to admit that you’re mortal and you need help.   The security guard also asked me if I was carrying any sharp objects.   He was actually a very nice guy, which coincidentally set the tone for my entire visit.   All the staff at St Paul's were very kind and helpful.   How they can remain so calm is beyond me.   Calming people down seems to be a full time job for all hospital staff.   In addition to all their other full time jobs.

When you enter the ER, its kind of like entering the scene of a movie.   You're hit with a blast of colors, signs, sounds, gadgets, and people.   It's crowded and intense.   Having so many sick people in one place is a powerful thing.   You can feel the suffering.   After seeing so many people in pain, I suddenly felt less sorry for myself.   No matter how sick you are, there's always someone else in worse shape.

I felt self-conscious about being in the hospital but you soon realize that no one cares.   Everyone is anxious and worried about their own health.   It's easy to blend in with this crowd because you're just a drop of pain in an ocean of misery.

Eventually you get called up to the Register desk where you tell a nurse your story.   Then you get a wristband and start to look like a genuine sick person in a hospital.   Congratulations!   Then you get your blood pressure checked by another nice nurse.   Then you get called to the Triage desk where you retell your story again.   This nurse decides how bad your condition is and thus when you get to see the doctor.   The Triage nurse was very nice and didn't seem at all surprised at my health problem.   Almost like she'd seen it a million times before.   I was impressed with her ability to seem very concerned about my health, yet at the same time she didn't seem "too" concerned about my health.   This balanced tone was very calming for my anxiety.   The Triage nurse then told me to follow a black line to the second room on the right…the Treatment Room.   It's a room with a sign that reminds everyone that it's a "weapons free area. "  I registered with another nice nurse and took a seat in the hallway where it was less crowded.   It took me about 30 minutes to get through the entire intake process.

The waiting part actually wasn't that bad.   St Paul's has great public Wi-Fi and comfy chairs.   It was like having a front row seat at a reality TV show.   There was an endless stream of life or death dramas playing out in front me.   I wanted to take a lot of pictures but I knew that wasn't appropriate so I just took a couple and tried not to be annoying.

At 10PM  I got in to see the doctor. The total wait time was about four hours.   Dr Manji was very calm, cool, and patient.   Amazing bedside manner.   I thought hospital life might age you prematurely but this doctor seemed to be youthful and thriving in a high stress environment.   I wish I had a fraction of his cool.   Dr Manji assured me that I wasn't going to die, yet.   He gave me a prescription for some drugs and off I went into the night with a renewed sense of hope.   Determined to get better and not screw up my health ever again.   The famous last words of every sick person.

The architecture of the building also deserves a mention because it's rare.   It was built in 1894 by the Roman Catholic Church, then demolished and rebuilt in 1912.   The design is a unique combination of the spiritual and the scientific.   It feels human in a way that modern hospital architecture doesn’t.   It's a shame that St Paul's is going to be closed soon because it has so much character and history.   Perception is vital in a hospital because the mind is your most powerful medicine.   The attitude you have towards life will always tip the balance between life and death.

Good job calling a 2nd waiting room fast track when people here are waiting up to three hours. Definitely fast track!

Thanks to the amazing staff in the cardiology unit at St Paul’s Hospital! The Dr’s and nurses gave exceptional care to my Mom. They were attentive, kind, caring and their bedside manner did not go unnoticed. Thank you

I am so disappointed in the way I was treated at this hospital. And I won't be returning.

I would avoid this place at all costs. I was literally kicked out of emergency for trying to advocate for myself. Asked for a second opinion and they threatened to call security on me…I literally did nothing wrong but patiently wait there in agony. I have a rare condition called Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. When it flares up I have to go to emergency but NEVER AGAIN. Shout out to Dr. Stoian. Thanks for literally treating me like nothing more than a piece of garbage. It’s scary that you are even practicing medicine. Please avoid this Dr. I don’t want anyone going through what I did today. He’s all ego and doesn’t care at all! MENTAL HEALTH IS REAL! #BEKIND

Really nice visit today. All things considered. Injured in transit and the ambulance took me here. Didn’t even know it was that close. Walking distance to workplace actually. And very different experience from ER as a walk in. Coming in by ambulance was definitely less wait time. Maybe almost 1.5-2 hrs total time in the hospital. Partially dislocated my shoulder. The X-ray staff super nice took things slow. The “student” that took the X-rays did nice job.

Ask for a little privacy and this what i get so I could sleep after having a stroke. I will be leaving tomorrow morning. How many people would take a pee in a plastic tube on video? *

The ceo Dalton should be ashamed of herself. The managers are liars and treat their staff like garbage. Liars from the top down. Shame. And this is healthcare!

The most amazing staff. From receptionist to surgeon the whole team is amazing. I felt so cared for and I would travel back again from Toronto to get amazing customer service.

Had an outpatient procedure with the GI clinic. Everything went very smoothly. Nurses were fantastic, super friendly, helpful and reassuring. Doctor went over everything with me until I was absolutely satisfied I knew what was going on. Took what could have been a stressful morning and made it A OK. Thanks all!

St. Pauls Hospital is one of the best hospitals in GVRD, if not best. It is a Catholic church group, and nurses and management don't turn people around if they are unable to pay at the time of the visit. Lots of other hospitals would not even bother. St. Pauls nursing stuff is compassionate and carrying, stellar management. What they go through on a daily basis, it's not easy to keep a large welcoming smile. Most of the time, you get treatment appropriate to your attitude. There is no one makes millions, they don't get bonuses so the service provided isn't of a 5 star hotel. St. Paul's cardiology department is renowned throughout the world. It is common to see televised operations carried there, lots of Asian doctors' delegations practices. Heart center patients come for procedures from all over Canada and even the USA. If your visit was disappointing, there are private healthcare options available. See how you'd get treated after dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars for care.

I had to go to St Paul's Hospital recently as my body had an allergic reaction to something unknown at my apartment and a rash was quickly consuming my whole body moving up from my feet to the top of my head very quickly and St Paul's Hospital staff got me in very quickly and helped give me an EpiPen and treated me with dignity and I could tell that the lady doctor Who told me she was a resident doctor was extremely helpful and her demeanor was very calming.

Turned me away with a dislocated finger after mocking me that it was my nail that was broken instead. Horrible excuse of a medical institution.

Tina Antoniak, at patient accounts at 3rd floor of the Burrard Building, would throw patients and coworkers under just to keep a roof over their head. Such mentality of hospital staff must be kicked out of the face of this universe.

I was very dismissive of St. Pauls for the longest time. Numerous problems with poor staff in the Emergency Department had totally soured my whole opinion of the place. I ended begrudgingly went there for a very serious issue a few years back and this began a series of positive interactions and proper care. While there are still some problems with stigmatization in the ED once I was moved to an inpatient bed I began to see a whole new tone to this place. Not only was I properly helped in regards to the infection in my heart, I was also helped with an extremely bad substance abuse issue. I was boosted quickly on meds that subsided my withdrawal and during my last 8 week stay I was helped by getting a treatment bed for when I was discharged, they kept me an extra week before treatment bed was available, they fed me, they even helped me manage and budget my money as I ended up with 2 sizable cheques during my stay which easily could have been spent improperly. St. Pauls is presently an outdated hospital however the new one being built will be state of the art. And like I said.while there are still some unlying issues I gave it 5 stars for the people that went that extra mile to make sure I was going to be taken care of.

I must give this hospital at least a five star review since I've been told that the paramedics actually saved my life there in 2021 when I went in with heart problems. It's quite disturbing for me to think of it now considering how perfectly normal I feel. I could complain about other things such as an increasing lack of a callback when I leave a message. But this place really came through for me in the crunch. And of course, that should be the same for anyone at any hospital.

So the situation is that I’m a tourist rn. I’m here cause I’m pregnant of my Canadian boyfriend and we are just about to get marry but for now I’m just a tourist. I went today to emergency cause I have a very bad urine retention, haven’t pee in a couple days and the pain is killing me, also dangerous for my baby, I went there and they told me I had to pay almost 2,000 just to get a consult + whatever they were gonna do. I think the price it’s ridiculous, I knew I was gonna pay but 2,000 it’s just absurd for a consultation

Absolutely wonderful staff and service. The people who work here deal with so much and they handle it with incredible grace and patience. So so much respect and appreciation for them. Thank you to the staff of St Pauls.

A third world nightmare conducted in any language but English; it's a great place to die which is likely the outcome if you're unfortunately admitted. At all costs, try to go somewhere, anywhere else.

I went there for an X ray today only to be turned away. They said they don't use the x ray machine after 3,: 00pm, it was 2: 45pm. I told her we have15 mins to do this but she said no come back tomorrow after 9: 00am.

A very positive visit/experience even though this valuable asset is set in the middle of a portion of Vancouver which many City Administrations have ignored for decades.
