Steveston Cafe & Hotel

The rooms are clean and with the basic amenities like hairdryer and small coffee maker. Room service not easy to get hold of- best to head towards the Cafe or The Buck and Ear to get food and drinks. Save on right across the hotel as well.

CAFE REVIEW

I used to come here often, prices have gone up and quality has gone down. Menu has alot of good stuff missing now (EX.waffle, yukon hash) Guess the owners are trying to recoup after almost going bankrupt. Servers are great, coffee was great. That's about as much good as I have to say. Wanted to get my toddler a small breakfast but they are charing $10 for a small kids breakfast! That's absurd. Almost cheaper to get a regular breakfast off their menu. My breakfast had uncooked potatoes (that was taken off the bill). My wife's turkey club was $20! And did not live up to its price. 1 leaf of lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes thicker then soles of my shoes. Last time I asked them if we could get smaller (more normal) slices of tomatoes and were told "they could NOT do that"? !? ! Is there no chef in the back with a knife?

All in all. Small ma and pa vibes. But cactus club prices for sub par quality. I would recommend just going to brand name breakfast place because it will probably be cheaper and better quality.

While having been newly renovated, this place is old. Rooms are basic, no microwave or fridge. That isn't a big deal but why or why is the hot water milky white?
Rooms are also small. Location is fun but I need my coffee and am up at 5am. I ran out after the first morning and couldn't find anyone to replenish me for the next morning.so Starbucks it is!
Oh and the smell.overly deodorizer so beware if you are sensitive to scents.
This is more like a 2 star hotel with a 3 star location.

The location is right next to Fisherman's Wharf, so you can get in touch with nature. The building is old, but it was clean and comfortable. But I think this place has a nice old atmosphere. There was no refrigerator in the room. There is a supermarket across the street from the building, so you can also do some shopping.

Everyone here was so nice, and the rooms were affordable, clean, cute and comfortable. Awesome view as well from our room!

Hotel was old, but renovated. Floor was terribly squeaky which woke others in the room when using the bathroom in the night.
Beds were ok… rather firm for my liking.
Breakfast at the cafe… that’s a different story. The food was good but the waitress was terrible!
She was ok with us, but treated others like garbage. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. I had a hard time not saying something to her.

Stayed here 2 nights in the room with 1 double bed and 1 twin bed. Old building but mainly clean. The room was quite small and smelled quite musty upon arrival. I immediately opened the window to air it out and it was much better. The window did not have a screen to keep bugs out however. The beds were very squeaky but slept ok. We got the breakfast package which includes a basic breakfast in the cafe. This is 2 eggs any style, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and toast with coffee or tea. The food was amazing and Miriam was a joy. She remembered our order the 2nd day and was quick to get us served both days. She is a very hard worker and good at her job! The rooms are pet friendly and the location is wonderful. If I make it back that way I would stay here again!

Hotel was old but nicely renovated. Floor was incredibly squeaky. It was further from the airport than I expected. Uber was $47.

Great location on the mouth of the Fraser River.

Stayed here the night before our flight home to be close to the airport. Excellent location for this and for exploring the local area as it is situated right in the town and parking was included in the rate. A warm welcome from very friendly staff. The room we stayed in was quite dated but it was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. It was fairly noisy through the night with random clunks and pipe and fan noises but nothing that couldn't be dealt with with a pair of earplugs for a good nights sleep.

The staff were very friendly and the room was nice enough, with lots of space. The hotel is also a short walk from everything in Steveston. Unfortunately, our room was directly above the bar, which blasted music until 2am. Our entire room was shaking. The provided earplugs did not help.

Room was nice and clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Restraint downstairs as well as a liquor store, pub and grill. Lots of seafood pizza and mother restraints in the area as well as a grocery store right across the street. Waterfront right across the street next to a park. Great for walking and sight seeing.

Talking about the cafe and not the hotel. The waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. Yelling, rolling her eyes, and everything. The hotel on the other hand was fine - only that it was noisy at night because of the music but they give you earplugs so it’s alright. The thing that mostly brought the experience down was the service given to us at the cafe.

A classic place and great landmark to get your bearings. Hope to be back when I have more time.

These may be the best pancakes I have ever had. Coffee is fast and fresh and the veggie hash was delicious.

It's much different now. They ask you what kind of jam you want and pick it for you, portions are smaller and oilier. Not sure why such a drastic change. The cheap breakfast special is still ok.

Terrible service from this hotel. Who runs two booking systems at the same time and then has the right to act astonished that this results in a poor customer service experience? Attempts to contact the manager since November of last year have proven unfruitful.

Not the Ritz, but not Skid Row either. Room was super clean, decor is modern and stylish, bed was comfy, and there were a few personal touches that show housekeeping cares.

Reception was super friendly even though we checked in late. Thanks Steveston for being understanding.

When reception says the pub downstairs is noisy until 2am, they mean it. We were told ahead of time - no complaints from this heavy sleeper.

Ear plugs are a nice touch for those who are light sleepers.

First off location is amazing! Brought back memories of being a kid! BUT if you want sleep? Take a nap during the day. It’s LOUD until 2 a m inside the hall but mostly the windows thin and duh check the high ones you can’t reach, they’re open! So you feel like you’re hanging on the corner with everyone lol. And smoking GREAT spot to wander around especially if you’re a bit “gimpy” and NO elevator fyi. Fine by me but not for some. It’s a fun funky hotel with great staff! I had the king jacuzzi suite. Great views…people watching. Weird positioning of tub jets tho be great to see the remodel and hope they keep the funk/ charm! Didn’t go to bar or restaurant so can’t say:)

It is a wonderful hotel in the midst of a vibrant fishing and touristy area. Just be aware that there is no elevator or stairlift for the handicapped. The cafe serves a great breakfast.

Very very very old hotel, but very very very very beautiful and amazing especially if you’re in the paranormal world
