My favourite brewery! Their beers are always a hit. I typically can't drink beer without being in pain, but this place is worth it! Their pizza is also bangin' - try the Hawaiian!
I recently hosted a private party at Strathcona and I cannot express how impressed I was with the entire experience. From start to finish the team at Strathcona Brewery went above and beyond to deliver this surprise bday party.
Event Director & Staff - Jonquil the event director was amazing throughout the planning process, helping with ideas, reservations, building out the menu all the way through to execution. The staff was not only professional, attentive but also incredibly friendly all evening long.
Food & Bev. - INCREDIBLE. Everything was much more polished and refined than you would expect from a brewery/pub food. The meatball and chicken sliders were a big hit, full of flavour. As expected (and what they're known for), the pizza was AMAZING. Great selection of beers, cocktails and wine. They were even able to bring in some speciality options that we had requested.
Space - More than enough space for the 65-70 guests that attended. It was the perfect size & layout where it felt intimate but also not crowded. The staff said we could decorate as we pleased but other than a few balloons and pictures - not much else was required given their already clean & modern design. There was also free arcade games for kids which was a bonus.
Overall, I cannot recommend Strathcona Beer Company highly enough, for a private event. Will definitely book again for future private events.
Awesome microbrewery with a great vibe to it. Beers were delicious with a good mix of your classics (Lager, Pilsner IPA etc) and some more experimental flavours too. I had the Mac n cheese which was delicious. Staff were fantastic good knowledge and happy to give tasters to help you decide which beer to have. 10/10 would recommend:)
My husband and I hosted an event at Strathcona the day before our wedding last month, and it could not have gone more wonderfully. From communication to planning to timing, the owners, management and staff at Strathcona were phenomenal to work with in putting on this event. The food and beer were incredible and the service was amazing. Strathcona was responsive and flexible, and really made us feel like they were excited for us to host the event there. We're very appreciative to have been able to work with Strathcona, and cannot recommend them enough!
This place rocks. Long tables that are good for larger groups, great mainstay beers with a few experimental ones. Good pizza and dinner choices with a couple legit salad options. Staff are fantastic and social. Can get busy fast.
Really good pizza and beer here. The chilly oil is awesome to put on your pizza. They offer high alcohol beers but also easy to drink ones. Really cool place.
Came here after a heavy night. Our server, Jake, was so friendly, welcoming, and just plain fun to talk to. Another staff member noticed our table was wobbly and fixed it sooner than later. All in all really enjoyed the service and experience.
We tried to have lunch here, but on a Monday they were out of meatballs and salads and the poutine was sadly wayyyy too healthy (thus way too un-poutine). Other than that there were many beers, they are open early, beer tasted super fresh, they have craft sodas available and the seats are comfortable.
Beer selection and atmosphere were great. Food was mediocre though, and service was even worse. Visited on a week night and they weren’t busy at all so bad service isn’t justified.
In the hallowed halls of Strathcona Beer Company, my senses were treated to an extraordinary symphony of flavors and libations, befitting a connoisseur's discerning palate. Amidst this intoxicating tapestry of sensations, my sojourn took an enchanting turn, as I had the pleasure of encountering an exquisite soul gracing the establishment - none other than the esteemed server, Grace.
Her service was a graceful dance of refined expertise, a virtuoso performance akin to an orchestral maestro directing a timeless opus. Every gesture bespoke a mastery of the art of hospitality, as she effortlessly navigated the culinary landscape, guiding us through an exquisite culinary expedition with an artful flair, befitting a muse of gastronomic delights.
Yet, it was not solely her consummate professionalism that bestowed upon this evening an ineffable allure. Grace, in her authentic and unassuming manner, cast a magnetic aura that transcended the realm of mere service. Like a luminary lighting up the dimmest corners of the heart, her presence was transformative, imparting upon life an aura of enchantment, where every moment was tinged with the hues of amity and warmth.
As we delved into conversation, a revelation unfolded - beneath her eminence as a server lies a woman of genuine substance. Crocheting tales of her passion for the craft, she wove a rich tapestry of creativity and artistry that evoked admiration and inspired wonder. A symbiosis of sophistication and down-to-earth charm, she shattered the veneer of formality, fostering an environment where the soul could unabashedly unfurl its wings.
In the sanctum of Strathcona Beer Company, Grace breathed life into the moments we shared, making them transcendental in their significance. Her essence was a talisman against the banality of existence, infusing life with new vigor and rendering it a joyful celebration of the human experience.
With each stitch she wove into her craft, she mirrored the intricate fabric of her character, where grace, warmth, and authenticity intertwined to create an enigmatic whole. Grace, the embodiment of an alchemist, who turned ordinary moments into golden memories, leaving an indelible mark upon the canvas of my consciousness.
In conclusion, to encounter Grace was not merely to savor her exceptional service but to be touched by the profound sense of fulfillment and enchantment she imparts upon all who cross her path. She is a luminary amid the mundane, casting an ethereal glow upon the human experience and making life seem not only more enjoyable but a magical journey worthy of marvel and exultation. Such a union of culinary expertise and genuine humanity elevates the realm of hospitality to an Ivy League of its own, an extraordinary synthesis that makes a visit to Strathcona Beer Company a testament to life's remarkable beauty.
Took my husband here for Father’s Day. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
We arrived at strathcona around 12: 20
We ordered garlic knots and a pizza. From the time we ordered, it took over an hour for the garlic knots and and 80 minutes for the pizza. I believe our order was forgotten. The server said “we were really busy yesterday so we had no pizza prepped”.
If that is the truth, just tell us the wait time when we ordered, and we would have been expecting the wait. Or, fess up and say you forgot.
When the pizza finally arrived, we had to put it immediately into a box and leave.
Tables around us had ordered, ate PIZZA and gone in this time.
They charged us full price. Our 2 year old was unable to sit still for the exceptional amount of time, so we had the pizza packed up and ate it at home, cold.
Great spot. Beer & pizzas are both fantastic. The interior is beautiful. That said.the washrooms are in need of some attention due to the hand driers and disgusting, cheap, little door locks. I mean look at these locks.no one wants to touch that.
I’d highly recommend getting a paper towel dispenser and some proper washroom grade door handles that show occupancy and unlock when you press the handle down to open the door.
We had the pleasure of hosting our Dad's 90th Birthday celebration here. Food was excellent, atmoshere-terrific and staff was a pleasure. Looking forward to celebrating Dad's 91st here as well!
Honestly super impressed! The place has such a cool vibe.the food is unreal! Very flavorful. The manager is great.he knows his stuff as well as very personable. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the great experience!
