Strathcona Community Centre

It is a good place to meet new people and make new friends and learn something new.

East side doesn't get the nice centers like elsewhere but people are great!

They have a lot of activities and they are wonderful and an excellent and wonderful place

This community centre is a lot less known than others, so it’s usually less busy than nearby centres. They have a variety of programs, I’ve only attended the basketball drop-ins. They seem to be very cliquey and disorganized but considering it’s only $5 to play, it’s still worth checking out for yourself. If you’re new to the sport, I’d recommend going elsewhere as some of the leaders at this community centre can be a bit rude to beginners.

Grew up in the Strathcona area. Went to visit the center and was surprised as how much it has changed.

Badminton courts here are almost always empty on the weekend. It’s $5 for a 2-hour session. The staff here are always so friendly and accommodating — if you want more courts opened, they will help set it up!
