We had a great time hiking here with our kids. There was lots of parking at the trail head lot, with bathrooms, and a helpful information booth. We got there by 10am and while it was busy, we never saw many people on the trails. Beautiful scenery and many trail options depending on your ability and interest. We hiked to battleship lake with our kids and they enjoyed a (very cold) swim in the crisp, clear water, and swam out to a little island in the lake. This spot also has an outhouse, and is a great place to stop to rest. There is a long uphill portion to get up to the lake, so it would not be good for those with mobility difficulties. It was beautiful and well worth our time. I would have loved to explore more.
Stunningly beautiful! We were here on a cloudless day in August and the colour of the blue sky against the green trees and meadows was breathtaking. Worth the drive! There is a long boardwalk here, very easy to navigate on foot. Many of the sections have a step up or down, but can still be used with some effort with strollers and joggers.
This is a magical place. So peaceful and serene, you just get lost in the beauty of it all. We love the island and all the hidden gems on it. For this park I will add a ️ on the map and certainly revisit when in my next trip. Also, it has a big parking lot, and you can go with kids on the trail for the first 2 km.
