Subaru of Penticton

On two occasions in Q1 2020 I brought in my 2011 Legacy in for additional work, and both times, corners were cut.

During the first visit, the tech dropped a bolt into my engine bay, while undoing a plastic bracket. I noticed the specific bolt replaced, as it was brand new; but they left the old one wedged in my exhaust manifold. I had to fish out the old bolt myself because the rattling noise was quite annoying.

At the second visit, I requested a specific gasket to be changed, as it had been re-used more than once. They took a look and said it looked fine, but an additional plug ($7) was needed to do the full job. Instead of adding a new plug, they billed me the full hoist time for a "top-up" and skipped the only work request I booked for that day. At least call and ask before ignoring my request?

Just the simple things.

Worst place ever. Told me my warranty was there and then wouldn’t fix my forester for 2 mo under warranty so they told me to go to another mechanic and bring receipt. Lies - wouldn’t reimburse me and cost me $350 when I paid for a warranty. Never buying Subaru again! Worst lemon of a vehicle i have ever bought. I’ve never had so many issues with a brand new vehicle in my life.

2 sales guys were arguing and cursing at each other over who was getting the sale for a car. My sales rep was short and low balled me big time on my trade in offer. He didn't want to even discuss the offer. Completely arrogant. It was a quick visit for me.

We made it very clear that we were from out of town so wouldn't be purchasing anything from Penticton Subaru, but just wanted to get a feel for Subaru SUVs. Todd went out of his way to help us find a vehicle that would fit our needs and spent more time with us than he was obligated to. Bought a 2015 Crosstrek from Penticton Subaru. Recently phoned to buy some replacement parts/seals to maintain my vehicle since warranty is now over. Parts guy did everything in his power not to sell me anything and wouldn’t give me any prices. Pure control and greed from this place. I’ll just order parts online and you won’t get another cent out or more business out of me ever again!

I always feel welcome when coming here.

Been to other dealerships in Oliver and it sometimes feel I am walking into a funeral. Here, they give you a smile and always have great conversation.

They provided great quote with detailed information. Made sure that I understood what was going on and what needed to be done.

Same when picking up the car, went through all the details and made sure I knew what they did.

Bought my Subaru Outback a month ago. Drove from NB and put 5000km on the car. Great car. Wanted to have a quick check on a leaky breaking system. Only option offered was to go see another mechanic or leave the car for one day as they MAY find time to check the issue. I live in Osoyoos. I did not feel like the service person wanted/ cared for my business /safety so will find a mechanic to look after my car.
