I absolutely loved the curry rice at this restaurant. The open kitchen concept not only added to the dining experience but also showcased the cleanliness of their cooking area, which I greatly appreciated. It’s refreshing to see the care they put into maintaining a hygienic and inviting environment. This place is definitely worth recommending, especially for anyone who enjoys a good curry.

I went here few months ago and the bright and cheerful atmosphere coming from the interior design and outgoing servers was very appealing! Food was so great, i wished the portion was bigger (lol so i can eat more) Definitely worth checking out this place!

Good quality authentic Japanese tapas and sushi here. Great service and recommendations. Entertaing servers who interact with everyone in the restaurant frequently. Loved the sea urchuin (uni) sashimi and tako wasabi pressed sushi and crab butter fries very yummy. Excellent tapas for an alcoholic beverage. Cocktails looked pretty good i think I will go back to try some!

Food, price, and service was okay in general. I had the grilled fish set and salmon pressed sushi. It's just too noisy, crowded, very hard to talk with each other. I felt relieved walking out of the restaurant after being in the restaurant for 1 hour.

Went here at night and it was packed but managed to get a table.

Food was great, very unique cocktails and reasonably priced.

The atmosphere of this place is very busy. It's like a restaurant with an izakaya vibe. Be prepared to raise your voice if you want to chat. A lot is going on between the birthday celebrations and a small lottery at the end of the meal. Great venue to celebrate something with your loud friends!

Amazing food! Very affordable prices. Pet-friendly patio. Highly recommend the chicken karage, bibimbap and pork tonkatsu. Very good portions, great for sharing. Drinks are also pretty good and cheap. They also have pitchers for beer and drinks.

Food was excellent, and when a dish arrived that we did not like. Feedback was taken and item was removed from menu without even mentioning!
Great atmosphere, top class service and that just tipped it over the edge.

We've been going to Suika for many years and it's a consistently excellent Japanese izakara restaurant. Terrific sashimi & seafood, there's always creative new dishes & specials and the service is great. Highly recommended!

We came from Edmonton, Alberta from a restaurant named Dorinku that we loved. We found out the Owner/Chef emulated what he loved from the restaurant he worked at in Vancouver, Suika.

My lord, does this hold up. It is absolutely delicious, fun, and creative dishes. Greatly recommended if you enjoy Japanese food.

Had a very bad experience here. Their food quality is really bad. The sashimi was not fresh and they put way too much sauce on every dish. Their wagyu is not actually wagyu beef. It does not have much marble. The blue fin is really low quality too.

Only upside? Service was decent.

I orered Rare AAA steak bowl with extra beef. Beef was bit cold but fresh. The sauce which was on top of the rice was toooo salty and vege is tooooo little. Where is the wasabi butter tho? I only feel strong salt taste in sauce.it'd better sauce on the side and add more vege option.

Order is only two items, and waited for 40 mins.while I am awaiting, 20 people got their huge bag & gone. Lost my appetite for sure, won't come back.

We got bluefin caroaccio, chirashi bowl, uni carbonara and corn kakiage and everything was. The service was amazing, and it was our anniversary date set by one of our best friends (she highly recommended this restaurant). We were extremely surprised by the kind gesture of the restaurant and didn’t know how to respond because we didnt know how the restaurant knew of our anniversary, but I really want to say thank you to the owner and everyone who planned the little surprise for us,? You made my gf and I really happy and we’ll never forget this day!

Always a great experience and atmosphere when coming here. I do recommend calling in advance to reserve seats as it always busy. It's more of a Izakaya so everything is meant to be shared. I recommend ordering the corn kakiage for starters and if you are hungry and have a big appetite, order the dynamic steak. If you can down that by yourself I give you props!

If you enjoy Suika, I also recommend trying out their sister restaurants; Kingyo, Raisu and Rajio.

Our all time favorite spot. Food never disappoints and staff are quick and helpful. Food is of a fine dining quality and so much thought and care is put in. The flavours are deep (katsu curry) when needs to be and delicate and fresh when the dish requires it. Presentation is exceptional and decor is funky yet grounded and casual.

I had such a pleasant experience here when I decided to grab something to eat before I headed home after shopping. I sat at the bar and the bartender that served me was so nice and friendly and the short ribs were delicious:) thank you for a lovely time.

I've been to Suika about 4 or 5 times in the last month or two. The staff is super friendly and chill.

The food is top notch, everything I've ordered has been to my liking. I've only had their drinks that include ginger, and they've all been really really good.

All I know is that Heaven is a place on Earth.

100% recommend going here.

It's become one of my favorite places for takeout since the pandemic started. They have really good packaging for the dishes too so stuff stays in tact quite well.

Came here for lunch. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was impeccable! Service is amazing as expected, I think this is my favourite Japanese restaurant that I’ve tried in Vancouver so far.

The plaiting was like beautiful, like a painting, and the uni kani udon was delicious! Service was also wonderful, everyone was very kind.

Spring break celebration with the family at Suika's Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Every dish we tried was a winner and the whole family had a great feast and time. Right amount of food, no leftovers to pack, no after dinner bloated feeling, simply superb.
We were greeted by both front & back of the house (open kitchen) staff in Japanese while entering the restaurant. Felt very welcoming.
Food timing was impeccable. Not sure if it was a coincidence or meticulously planned. Every dish was brought to the table when the previous one was almost finished.
I am a big fan of hot sauce and usually drizzle it in most foods. At Suika, a different experience/approach. Didn't feel the need for it at all. Perfect seasoning. Kudos to the team!
Kids loved their drinks, didn't feel even to leave the straws behind. They ate them. I have seen biodegradable straws, but at Suika, it's edible noodle straws. Very impressive.
Tried all the 3 desserts on the menu, wished we ordered more.
On our way back home, Krish was whining a little & Harini: Stop it Krish. It's very rare that both Appa & Amma are in a good mood at the same time. So don't ruin it.
I can relate her view to my dining experience. Excellent food & friendly attentive service at the same time are very rare and there is no doubt that you can experience it at Suika. Happy dining!

Thank you so much for making my birthday dinner special last night. I dine at Suika or get delivery fairly often as its one of my favourites, but I never get tired of it. Impeccably melded flavours with lots of umami. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They put a lot of effort into the details. The complimentary glowing orb matcha creme brulee was to die for!

Superb food quality and attention to detail. I thought the service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. I found myself ordering extra and I ate a lot for sure. The ambience was perfect for a good chat with a friend. And they even patiently let us stay slightly a bit later while they had their day’s operating intermission, which we genuinely appreciated and were embarrassed about after realizing what we had done.

You eat at enough restaurants for thousands of times, especially in tourist destinations in Asia, and you can feel the nuances of the vibe and dining atmosphere.

My bf and I decided to try out a new restaurant as he was getting hangry. On a quick Yelp search I found this high rated restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The covid protocols were in place and the service was prompt and super friendly with good recommendations. The flavours of the chicken Kara age and the tuna dishes were unique and delicious. The chicken also comes with salt and pepper to dip the chicken in as opposed to mayo which I’ve seen in other places and it was a nice change. Would 100% go back and am recommending it!
