Sullivan Animal Hospital

I brought my dog here for the first time last week and was so happy with the care we received. The doctors and staff clearly genuinely care about the animals they treat - I even got a phone call several days later to check in on my Moose and ask how he was doing with the course of treatment we had decided on. The clinic is clean, the prices are reasonable, the hours are great, and there’s tons of parking. I will be switching to Sullivan Animal Hospital as my primary veterinary clinic and am still super impressed by them.

I recently brought my sick dog to Sullivan Animal Hospital, but our experience was deeply unsatisfactory and distressing. Their billing policy seemed exploitative, with a clear intent to charge customers as much as possible.

The unprofessionalism peaked when they prescribed a 20 mg antibiotic powder capsule for my dog and instructed me to give my dog only half each day. This task was impractical without having a supper accurate scale with 0.001 gram accuracy to split the powder of the capsule into 10 mg doses. Moreover, how would I keep or use the other half of the powder without a capsule!

You can split a tablet into two almost similar parts but not capsules with powder inside.
The manager’s casual approach to such an essential medication was not only irresponsible but also potentially harmful.

Further, the manager’s conduct was utterly disappointing. She was incredibly rude and unhelpful, showing no concern for the difficulty of our situation. Her lack of empathy and professional knowledge was evident.

I strongly advise pet owners to consider other veterinary services where your pets will be treated with the professionalism and care they deserved.

Been taking my dog to Sullivan Animal Hospital for years. Dr. Kumar and staff (Alex, Sonja, Cherry, and everyone) are very accommodating and they make sure that my dog is well-taken care each visit!

My pet name is Joey and I would say it's the best hospital for him. I only trust them for my furry baby.

My cat had been sick for a couple of days and I took her here in the morning when the clinic opened hoping they could help me out. They took her in right away and provided all appropriate tests and treatments with my permission, and gave me updates along the way. The 2 doctors that worked with her, Dr. Anjum and Dr. Gill are very kind and compassionate and one can tell they truly care about animals. The front desk staff are also very nice. So happy to say my cat is feeling much better. It is very tough to find a good vet clinic, I highly recommend this one!

Been coming here for about 2 years now. Both doctors are easy to deal with and don’t beat around the bush. My dog has extreme allergies and they referred me to a specialist and outlined why it was a better option. Instead of making a quick buck of me they didn’t waste my time and pointed me to the right direction. Also, I get my dogs monthly Cytopoint shot here; therefore, I get to see the clinic/employees often compared to most customers. I have noticed the clinic is always clean! The staff/assistants (girls at the front desk and at the back) are amazing! The staff ALWAYS calls me back if they don’t answer my call initially. This is helpful because I can always count on them for returning my call and making sure my dog gets an appointment. 2 years running and it’s been great

Always a great experience. The doctors are friendly and knowledgable, and there is rarely a wait time. I’ve only had to wait a short time due to an emergency being prioritized which is completely understandable. You can tell that this clinic really cares for animals.

Unfortunately was there with my daughter. Her cat was really sick. It is so sad her cat didn't make it. But the staff there was awesome. They helped her thru her grief

Dr. Kumar, his team, his office, their hours and their equipment are all top absolutely top of the line. I discovered them as I needed to take my dog Molly in very quickly, I had called all my previous vets, they couldn't take her. Sullivan Animal hospital was the only place in Surrey at the time that were both open and could take her.

They took amazing care of her that day, and they have continued to take amazing care of her. She is 12 or 13 now (a rescue) and has had a lot of health issues recently. I continue to drive from NW Surrey and across the city to see them, my first experience made me a forever client.

They let me be by her side during a lot of treatments which is incredibly rare and I'm able to help soothe Molly during treatments. They always are ready to answer any questions I have and are very patient because I always have a lot of them! They have saved me a lot of time, money, and Molly a lot of stress by not having to take her in everytime she needs medication. Being able to do ultrasounds, x-rays, and all other screenings on site and on short notice.

The way they treat Molly and I is beyond my expectations. They have the latest technology including a doggy "elevator" that reduces stress on dogs, and are some of the most patient, kind and compassionate veterinary workers I have ever experienced.

Thank you so much for being so amazing to Molly and I. Words are not enough to express our appreciation. Thank you for taking care of her in her golden years and making them the best they can be.

Very professional and helpful staff and great vets. My Havanese dog has a lot of anxiety but thankfully the team at Sullivan Animal hospital has been very helpful and patient with him. Highly recommend the place.

My cat needed to get emergency stomach surgery, found some wires looped up in his stomach on a routine check up X-ray done at another clinic.

Decided to contact Sullivan Vet Clinic after seeing 200 plus consistent five star reviews. They were able to fit him in the very next day as it was an emergency. They quoted me a significantly lower cost for surgery than the other clinic. Was shocked at the price difference and relieved as it was more affordable.

Dr Kumar performed the surgery with great success
and my cat is doing very well. Couldn’t believe what came out of his stomach. He just had his sutures removed today. Everything healed nicely and he’s back to normal self.

Dr Kumar and his team of staff have been very professional and helpful at answering any of my questions and concerns throughout the whole process. The clinic is bright, spacious and clean and equipped with all the necessary expensive machines to do scans and testing.

Highly recommend Dr Kumar to anyone looking for an honest Veterinarian, he is kind, professional with affordable prices.

Dr. Kumar was very attentive and patient with my dog Mika. I felt Dr. Kumar really took the time to explain the possible causes of my dog’s symptoms. Very thankful to have found him. The staff too are very friendly.

They are always so friendly, fast to get a last min appointment. Doctor is very nice.they never overcharge for things not needed. Highly recommend!

This place for me was a real gem to find. The two doctors have been fantastic with my older dog. The assistants are also excellent. I have recommended them in the past to others and will continue to do so for the future.

Dr Kumar and staff have all been friendly and patient, explain things well and don’t push for unnecessary services or medications. Although my puppy isn’t a fan of the actual check ups - he is always happy to see all of the folks who work here whenever we go!

Dr. Kumar and his team including Oreo are great with their patients. Kidness and compassion are two words to define them.

My puppy Buddy started showing signs of a rare genetic disorder when he was about four months old and we went to clinic after clinic until we found Sullivan Animal Hospital and Dr.kumar has been by far the best veterinarian we have taken Buddy to. The whole staff has provided him with the best care I could have asked for!

Dr Kumar is the best of the best! I went to many vet cause my kitten had FIP. Many vets asked me to put him down but now my kitten is fully recovered and cured! I experienced the very bad services from the other vets and finally we found this vet that we are very satisfied with all the services they provided. Dr Kumar is very professional and treat my kitten with love and care. Their staffs are also very professional and friendly. I live in Richmond and I don’t mind to drive a long way to see Dr Kumar cause I m very confident that my cat will be treated well with this vet!

Had my 2nd experience today with Dr. Kumar and the veterinarian assistant, Sonia. Both times we had awesome visits. Doctors and staff are caring and very knowledgeable. Office is clean and hygienic. We took our puppy in for a puppy check and the Vet didn't even do the puppy check correctly. Our dog has issues with his teeth that should have been found out during the puppy check but he never even looked. Now he was in pain for 2 weeks and we had no idea until we went to a different Vet. We will never be coming back here. Terrible service. Do not bring your puppy for a check here

Best vetenary clinic our family has been to. We have been to many vetenary clinics since we have 2 dogs who have recurring medical conditions as well as being very active and can be accident prone from time to time.

The staff have been very, very polite and very accommodating with our emergency visits. The vets are so great with our little ones and are so knowledgeable. They have never suggested something our little babies didn't need.

They have been completely professional all the time and always make you feel welcomed. Can't say enough good things about this clinic. I will never go to any other! We know our little Jayna and Calli are in good hands:)

Outstanding animal hospital! Our dog has been going here since he was 10 weeks old, and it is always a good experience. The interior of the centre itself is very clean and modern looking, the front desk staff are very nice in person and over the phone, and the vet is really good at what he does.

We recently got our dog neutered here, and had an excellent experience! The cost to neuter our dog was very reasonable, especially compared to what a lot of Vancouver and Richmond vets charge. The day of the procedure went very smoothly, and the vet did a great job with the surgery. It also truly made our day when we received a special text message and photo update from our dog after his surgery (haha thank you front desk staff, you guys are the best!)

First appointment for my dog today as changed location. Fantastic caring service because my dog gets traumatized at vets. They were really good with him and he was more relaxed. Thorough check up and took sample and gave vaccines and medication and gave me a discount for visit. This was the best service with very reasonable charges. Other places I have been overcharged. I got my receipt, vaccine certificate and next appointment verified by email before I even got home. Dr. Kumar seems like a very caring and competent vet. Thank you so much. I feel relived.

My dog split her tooth, and on a stat weekend. Not only were they able to look at her on short notice, they booked her in for surgery to remove the tooth right away.

Dear Dr. Anjum, Dr. Kumar and all the super nice and caring staff of sullivan animal hospital, I wanna thank you all for loving me and taking care of me like your own pet and taking that huge peice of almond out of my intestine, my mom is really happy to see me well and home now. Though i got really angry at one point but i want you to know if it were not for you guys i would probably not be able to celebrate my second birthday. That damn almond did make me suffer alot so i probably wont eat almonds again to bother all of you. Please let oreo know i miss him and i love you guys alot and thank you for treating my bad obstruction.

The doctors and staff at Sullivan Animal hospital were quick and did not delay in seeing see us when my pet had a nose bleed.

I've called here and there and buy food. They are all accomodating and always informative. Maybe a recommendation would be the website because confusing hours was posted there and need to call to confirm if hours are correct. Also no info about the doctors and staff, but they are all cool.

I have been here several times now, and will continue to come here during the length of my dogs life. The receptionists/vet assistants are very nice and polite, and great with my dog. The vet is great as well, and treats my dog wonderfully, and is happy to answer any questions I might have. A+ service here.

DO NOT GO HERE THIS IS A BRAND NEW CLINIC my friend called me after a vet visit saying they had to put their dog down. I brought them to my vet and my vet was shocked to hear Sullivan Animal Hospital had prescribed Fentanyl. Although the dog may have a life long health problem, my vet prescribed Meloxican. My friends dog has lived 6 months longer & actually seems better than before. My other friend has a dog who has been on Meloxican for 3 years and still comes camping with all us young kids. If I had not brought the dog to my vet, he would have been gone. Right at this moment he is breathing and seems happier than six months ago. My vet seemed very concerned about them using Fentanyl. I would never take an animal here.

I have used this vet just 2 times with 2 little maltese rescues I rescued from a crack house. Even through social distancing, they are amazing. Can't say enough great things. They will also accommodate our more holistic approach on vaccines and will do Titer testing 1st. So happy I was recommended to them by Pawsitive rescue I'm fostering through, with these 2 little ones. Their details to information on medication I had to give was amazing! Usually I have to phone vets back to get more details. Highly Highly recommend. We will be back! 100%

We brought Chester my friend's family's beloved cat to the SULLIVAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL in Surrey for just a regular check up of his teeth as I assumed he needs some dental work done. I didn't like that I had to just drop him off but I understood due to present circumstances.
10 minutes later I got a call where I had to listen to a very painfully drawn out explanation that my cat needed dental work (which I knew as that was why I had brought him in). This vet suggested what I was already doing for Chester. He also asked how long Chester hadn't been eating for. Not sure where he had assumed this information from but I corrected him saying that Chester eats and drinks regularly and is a happy and loving cat. After a 10 minute long, and unnecessary, conversation about ways to handle this (repeating himself again) he told me I could pick Chester up.
I was already outside and went to the door where I was let in and saw Chester, in his crate, not moving at all and looking so scared.
I paid for the exam and went to take Chester home.
Upon return I let him out after some coaxing. He stepped out and crouched over for a SECOND before slowly walking away. As soon as he did I saw the BLOOD on the carpet. A lot of blood for a second of sitting there. So I picked him up and Talya and I saw his toes all funny and blood all over his leg. Inside the crate there were two towels for his comfort. They had blood all over them. The crate had blood all over it.
I immediately called the vet to ask him what happened. He said nothing, that the cat was fine when it was there. So I drove back to show him the crate and towels. He wanted me to bring Chester back but I said hell no. He kept saying it was my fault and that nothing happened there. However the receptionist let slip that Chester had run off. The vet showed no compassion or remorse and kept saying they didn't do anything to him. No apologies. No asking if Chester was okay. No accountability whatsoever. He eventually just walked away.
I don't care if they see so many pets per day. Or if it was late (they scheduled the appt for 6). Or if Chester was scared and ran off. Clearly there was no bedside manner towards Chester. He was roughly handled and suffered injuries because of this completely insensitive and horrible "vet. " Injuries which resulted in quite a bit of blood loss. It would have been nice if this guy had showed a little bit of sensitivity. But he was horribly rude about the whole situation and even blamed me for hurting my own cat. I'm so upset that Chester had to suffer through this horrifying experience!

I would highly encourage people to AVOID this place.

I brought my cat, dog to the vets. Both are very kind and compassionate towards my animals. When I needed help they were ALWAYS accomodating!

Extremely high standard of care with vets who are empathetic and informative without being patronizing. My French Bulldog Yoda had a surgery here the doctors and staff have been very Friendly and have done an excellent job with the surgery. My puppy Penny has been here since she was 2 months old, and was also spayed here last month. They took really well of her, including giving us a bottle of what looked like antiseptic iodine (?) to help clean up her wound at her check-up a week later. Afterwards, we went again to check if the inflamed area had healed - and it did. We are really pleased that all of this came at no charge!

I also want to thank everyone who responded to my many emails - I am a first time dog owner and had many questions. Thank you so SO much for the quick replies! Everyone was very informative and helpful, and really lessened my worries.

My family is very glad that we found this clinic when our dog got very ill. Through this very difficult time, we were met with nothing but patience and compassion from the staff and doctors. Dr. Kumar genuinely cares about his patients and kept us updated constantly so that when we left our dog at the clinic we knew he was in good hands. I would highly recommend this animal hospital, especially if it is for an emergency late at night as they are opened until midnight.

I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. I needed to bring my cat in due to an emergency and Dr. Kumar fit us in right away.
After the procedure, I received a follow up call as well as a few photos of my cat which was so nice to have as I was worried sick.
I received follow up calls at least twice daily and Dr. Kumar was always quick to answer if I emailed or called with questions.
The staff here is so caring and great with animals. They definitely have a customer for life!

We took our dog to this clinic, after having a horrible experience at the previous vet, where we were left confused and not knowing what to do. My dog was bleeding from an ulcer for 2 weeks, and when I saw Dr. Kumar, he was so caring and explained all the options clearly. We decided to proceed with the surgery and my dog is now much better and healing extremely well. I was stressed for 2 weeks, and even thought I would lose my dog.
The staff and doctors at this clinic truely care about animals. They called multiple times to follow up on my dog ensuring he was doing well.
I can never thank Dr. Kumar enough. I am referring everyone to this clinic as I don't want anyone to go through what I did.

Dr. Kumar saved my cats life. I called them right before they closed, my cat Gunner was in desperate need of help. He told me he would wait for me to come all the way from new west. They where the only animal hospital open at the time and he went above and beyond to help my boy Gunner. I am eternally grateful.
