Beautiful place to walk. Especially in spring when it's full of wild flowers. Nice little park for the kids and the reservoir is cool too check out.

My favourite neighbourhood park! Gary oaks that look spooky in autumn, berries along the reservoir all summer, and birds year-round. Beautiful mural on the tower and incredible sunset views.

A nice place for a (relatively) easy walk to the top of the hill for good views of the cityscape and surrounding areas.

The landscape in the park is a typical uniquely Victoria one. There’s a play area for children and a reservoir area that people run around for exercise after running up the hill.

A nice alternative for views to Mount Douglas park.

This is a very unique ecological area. The trees in this park are Gerry Oaks they grow no where else in the world.

Nice. It is what it is. A good walking park. Not a lot of shade. We need nice little treed, grassy parks like this. Not a lot to do for the littles though beyond exploring if they are walking age.

Nice and peaceful. Well kept secret as I've lived here 30+ years and just discovered this little paradise.
Enjoy Ken

Pretty. In the beggining of spring there was wildflowers everywhere but because humans are acting like orcs they are all destroyed now. Still its a nice place to hang out if you live close by.

Beautiful park especially in spring. Would be a 4 but the thing the opted to use to keep motorized vehicles out of it also makes it super inaccessible. I can only get in safely with help. Wheelchair users likely could not In 2021 as better barriers exist is is a terrible solution

Nice small park with 180 degrees view. Small playground for kids and no camping allowed. Above park there is an old city water reservoir which is enjoyed by local fowl.

Small and a cute park, not too far from our place. Good for a short walk and nice view of the town.

Summit Park is a little known jewel in Victoria. It's larger than you might guess and it is filled with the undeniable charm of Garry Oaks. The views are beautiful and it is right next to a main water reservoir. A fantastic place to visit!

Quiet, tucked away piece of nature in the middle of the city. One of my favourite places to go.

Amazing space. Small and great for a picnic or a muck about with the children. Dog friendly too!

A little hidden sanctuary not too far from home. That's one way of putting it. It is perfect for picnics, meditation sessions or afternoon tea or even just to read a book. The variety of wildflowers, trees, meadows, hilly outcrops and wildlife make it a gift for nature lovers or nature photographers. It is so peaceful, safe, and most of all serene. The trails are well-maintained too which makes strolling around very lovely.

One could easily spend several hours there hidden away from it all and not realize it which is very delightful. The regulars are very friendly and the conversations are equally as delightful. Up at the summit too, being as sheltered as it is can often bring warmer conditions so avoiding the cold or wet weather can be quite possible. It is truly a very beautiful vista.

A small urban park on a hilltop (hence the name), this is a good place for a walk in any season. In Spring the Garry Oak meadows are full of flowers (camas, buttercup, crocus and more). Even in winter the park is green with grass and bushes, contrasting with the stark, leafless trees. The main paths are smooth gravel with moderate slopes, suitable for all but the most severely mobility impaired; a wheelchair should be manageable with a bit of assistance. At the top of the hill is an old water reservoir, usually with a few ducks swimming around. There is a level path around the reservoir, but the stairs to reach that level are steep. The park can be a good place for birding, especially in Spring. Dogs are allowed, but must be on-leash at all times. There is a small playground area with swings and climbing bars at the edge of the park. Easy parking is available at the west side of the park, accessed via Summit Avenue (off Quadra Street).
