Sun Peaks Resort

Don’t get me wrong, the ski acreage here is amazing and for an advanced skier, you’ll love the slopes, but if you’re staying out of the main village and relying on the village shuttle for access to shops, restaurants, nightlife etc it’s a disaster. The tiny shuttle comes infrequently and will likely be already full and leave you on the side of the road after a freezing wait to risk frostbite on the subsequent long trudge into town. Not ok - unless staying in a hotel room in the heart of town is your thing.
Ps. Can’t recommend the ice fishing and ski-doo tours enough though - so good!

We had a great time skiing with our whole family. We really enjoyed doing the short hike to get to Gil's glades.
The terrain was quite varied and the lift lines were minimal.
We loved the Ski In Ski Out aspect and the village was also walking distance from our condo.

It’s my first time in this skii resort and is sooo beautiful, they have a lot of space in the parking lot, the skiing area is huge and in excellent conditions, the place is full but you can walk easily and freely, the village area is really pretty, they have a lot of cute stores, also restaurants and coffee shops, the restrooms at the main entrance are also very clean, this year without a doubt the area was better than whistler!

First time at sun peaks driving from Seattle. The resort is not crowded which is perhaps the greatest thing about it. There are hardly any lines at the lifts and the restaurants. The staff was friendly and the town which we stayed in (Kamloops) turned out to be surprisingly pleasant

Me and my family stayed there for a month and a half. Best experience I have ever had! If I could rate it more I would! Sun Peaks is THE best!

Spectacular place. Headed up from OZ a few days ago. Snow forecast not great but the snow conditons on the ground are sensational, especially for a southern hemisphere skier. Grooming is next level. Accomodation at the Grand is great.

Truly Canada's hidden gem for all four seasons. The best skiing and snowboarding - massive mountain, diverse terrain, fast lifts, incredible snow. VIEWS for days, everywhere. Family friendly - from sledding, to parks, to playgrounds, to an ice rick, to dog sleds, carriage rides, golfing and MORE. The village itself is ADORABLE. Lots to shop and dine and lots of action while remaining quaint and calm. Off season is my favorite. The summers are gorgeous. Incredible little town and shocking it is not more on the map, which is a good thing for us BC locals:)

We need some more snow, but that's not anyone's fault. The skiing is still pretty good and it's always a great atmosphere there!

This is our 3rd time at Sun Peaks. Great area to ski, amazing village with ski in-out no matter where you stay. Great restaurants and eventhough there is not enough snow at beginning of the season we still love it.

Lovely ski/hiking resort, we we visited in-between seasons. Snow on the mountains, which added to the atmosphere. Great views and what I would call proper Canada.

Absolutely disgusting how sun peaks is starting to gauge people on pricing during holidays, these are the only times many people can come visit your resort and you tack on a extra 20% to the already insane price of lift tickets. Gross. I was season pass holder here for many years but will never return due to this thievery.

A skiier stole my dad's money when my dad fell on the slopes, and the staff was uncooporative and denied that it happened in order to avoid the trouble of a police investigation.

This was a summer visit, so hiking, golf and biking are the main attractions for this 2nd largest snow ski area in Canada. But wildflowers are prolific and the weather is awesome, although some lightening-caused wildfires have just started and air has some smoke. Fortunately wind is blowing it east of us. The Sun Peaks Village is loaded with restaurants and outdoor gear and bike shops. Our lodging at Pinnacle Lodge is wonderful as is the staff and breakfast daily is included. Playing golf in a.m. Hiked today took gorgeous photos!

All in all it was great. The village had lots of activities and a weekend market, the bike park is excellent (shoutout to mcsporties for helping me get back on the trail!) as well as the golf course was a beauty. You should plan accordingly if you're on a budget. However, it is well worth it for whichever outdoor activity you prefer. Absolutely beautiful spot.
