Camped there annually and as usual kids like it. A lot of activities too, a lot of kids playing around
24 August 2023 12:03
It is very croweded to a point of explosion. If you have kids, you might be ok the noise level, but if you are looking for a quiet place, this is not the place. The lake is ok if you dont mind loud boats and jet skies.

We camp here every year. One of our favorite spots. Lake is amazing. Grounds are kept clean. Bathrooms are decent. Could use upgrades, maybe a fresh coat of paint. Store could bring in a few more options but it's great for the kids to have an ice cream or a slushy on a hot day.

Worst campsite we’ve been too. Unmaintained and unleveled site, no privacy, a billion sites makes it like a refugee camp. Absolutely the grossest, uncleaned and outdated washrooms I’ve ever seen. Disgusting!
They have someone stealing propane tanks too so hide yours. We aren’t the first to have a tank stolen. Beaches had garbage and rocky in the water. Useable but not great.
Do yourself a favor and stay at the provincial sites nearby. I’d give this campground a zero if I could.

Been going to these campgrounds every summer for 5 years now. Always been a fun experience. The only reason I did not give a full 5 is because I noticed lately that they don't clean the sites properly after campers leave. My site was full of cigarette butts and other small garbages when we arrived. Here's the thing, when I leave a campsite, I make sure it's clean but not everyone does that's why I pay extra for private campsite in hopes of better service. The other thing is they charge too much for bringing a dog. It's not a hotel where they have to spend money for cleaning and sanitizing after dogs. What is the 8 dollars per night per dog for? Lastly, washrooms can get pretty gross but that has more to do with campers being irresponsible.
08 August 2023 6:44
The campsite is in a very nice setting. On a busy weekend it gets pretty crowded. If you want a quiet place this is not for you. Loud til midnight. Lots of partiers and no enforcement around. The washrooms by the late afternoon were disgusting. They cleaned once before 9am. Not good enough. Won't be returning or recommending to anyone.

Not for long term camping unless you are ok with buggies racing around, harassment by security, rude staff, cops and a dirty beach. Left here with muscles spasms, and a whole lot of anxiety after a month and a half.
29 June 2023 10:59
Worst service ever. They will find any reason to ticket guests for anything. Extremely rude reception at the front and unreasonable people. Stay away.
06 March 2023 2:24
This is our favorite campsite to visit during the winter months for long, quiet walks near the lake.
12 November 2022 20:22
Checking in took a long time, and it books up really fast, but the campsite was a fun environment. The private beach had a great atmosphere.

Only stay here if you are desperate to camp! This is our third time camping ever and our third time at Sunnyside. The first two times were great because we were learning what camping was all about and what supplies we needed.there were toilets and hot showers plus it was impossible to book anywhere else during Covid. BUT This year will be our last. We have learned as we gained experience that this is the McDonald's of camping. It wouldn't be so bad if people weren't so inconsiderate and if the rules were properly enforced. The three sites beside us decided to join together which resulted in 10 adults and 10 kids talking and cackling all night right beside our tent where we were trying to sleep inside. We called security at 10: 45pm, 11: 30pm and 1am. The group didn't quiet down until after the third time and we had to move our tent the next day as far as possible away from them which only helped marginally. Security warned them but from what we saw, security is ineffective. You are packed into this campground and can hear and see your neighbours at all times. Three sites should not be able to join up and create a large party if the sites are that close together. As well, the washrooms are small, crowded and dirty and the whole site is dirty with lots of dirt in the air at all times causing issues with your nasal passages and throats. Good riddance Sunnyside!
29 September 2022 23:16
It’s got trees and water. That’s all you need. Walk with drinking water and have other plans to shower (lake). Provided showers are a no go. Still it’s camping don’t complain just enjoy nature
27 September 2022 20:43
Noisy, noisy, noisy. The biggest problem with this campground is the noise from other campers who don't respect the 11pm quiet time. We were kept awake by several radios and drunken campers talking loudly.up to 2am one night. Worst part is Security doesn't patrol the grounds unless you phone them. Oh and the washrooms are disgusting. Dirty toilets, paper and water all over ground. Would NOT recommend Sunnyside.
24 September 2022 5:40
We had excellent customer service from Leah at the check in booth. She did a amazing job at sorting our multiple reservations we had into one. Thank you so much.
21 September 2022 20:15
Nice wooded area but definitely not the place to go for relaxation. The check in staff need a some help in customer relations, like explaining things properly instead of rushing through instructions too fast. When asked a question the employee was uninterested and turned away while I was speaking.
21 September 2022 19:26
I will never come back!
The washrooms are disgusting (they never clean it), the security was all the time after us. It says pet friendly but it's definitely not. The service is horrible. I don't recommend this campsite only if you want to spend a terrible holidays.
08 September 2022 22:31
First 2 nights were great. Tonight there's a group of swearing loud teenages. If you want sleep.it's hit or miss.good luck.
27 August 2022 0:59
Amazing location, so close to the lake. You can swim all you want. The kids loved it so much!
20 July 2021 16:08
Great campground, tons of sites for rv's and tents, clean, lots of clean washrooms, a store and great security.cultus lake is beautiful, surrounded by mountains, lake has lots of open shoreline for all sorts of activities, swimming, boating and play areas for children.there are also long term sites for your rv, which is great for a family retreat, but wait time to get one can be up to 3 years.lots of restaurants in area, and a waterpark, mini golf and tons of shopping.access to cultus lake is easy, with paved roads, and not far from the great small town of yarrow and downtown chilliwack.
08 May 2021 23:43
The campground is well organized. The spots are spacious compared to other campgrounds and there are lots of shade trees. The facilities are clean and the security is good. I would have given 5 stars if it was not from the smoke of the many campfires.
03 May 2021 18:17
What a beautiful place! We've been going there for the last 5 years and we love it. The lake is amazing, the sites are very big. It can get crowded and noisy on the weekends, but most of the nice campgrounds do.
There is a lot to do. Highly recommend it!
02 March 2020 4:03
Love it! Go there every year. Its clean, great family spot, and we always get the same spot by the playground. Always alot of kids around for your kids to play with and only a couple mins walk yo the beach, 15 minute walk to the slides and amusement park. Definitely recommend camping here.
17 February 2020 15:06
Beware of the cancellation policy here!
We cancelled Feb 7 for a June 21 reservation and they charge a $25 cancellation fee
29 November 2019 14:07
The campsites are very large set up with a fire pit and tables! It is nice they have a full size washroom with showers also, beats the hell out of a portapotty any day! Firewood is steep but it’s a nice place to go camping if looking for a site not too far from home.
22 November 2019 8:58
Not exactly a slight against the Campground the people right next to us invaded our campsite and didn't think it was a big deal security was good about coming down and setting this right I just won't be back
16 November 2019 22:42
Plenty of trees, you're never too far away from a water tap, bathrooms are fine (and showers are free). It's a short walk to the lake, but it starts to feel far if you keep forgetting things at your campsite. The only real negative is it seems far too common to end up with a neighbor that crams 20 people on a site and wants to yell at each other over loud music till the wee hours. Yes, there are rules against this, but they don't have much power to enforce them.
16 November 2019 7:21
It was completely empty, which was a good thing. We planned on staying three days, but wanted to pay day by day. Just incase we need to leave or wanted to leave. When I had asked if we could pay day by day, the staff at the front gate said you can but if someone reserves that spot you could lose it. Which led me to believe the park was full. So I had to pay for three days. We had to leave the night we got there. So what I'm saying is I feel like I was deceived and ripped off! I will not be going back there.
26 October 2019 22:41
This is a beautiful spot on Cultus Lake. The tenting site we have is huge. Plenty of room and not feel cramped. The restrooms are clean and not busy. There are fresh water spigets scattered around as well as garbage dumpsters so you never have to walk to far for what you need. The beach area is massive with a large roped in swim area with docks. Perfect south facing shoreline for an all day sunny experience. I'm sure I will be back. The kids also enjoyed the playsets and biking around.
23 October 2019 2:10
This was our first time ever RVing in this campground and I can honestly say with confidence this is one of the best facilities I’ve been to. Unfortunately we waited till the season was pretty much over and the store with ice cream was closed. Oh no! No ice cream while camping? Broke tradition for us lol but other than that this place is friggin amazeballs. For families or couples.singles whatever your status. So many sites to choose from. Big enormous gorgeous trees at every site. From awesome tenting sites to large and semi private RV sites. There’s clearly a seasonal section for the people who have purchased sites for the season and just as nice of sites for the public. The beach.the lake.the mountains.don’t even get me started! So many playgrounds for the grandkids to try out and everyone is so helpful and happy and approachable. We were allowed to have a fire and music going with zero complaints. It was my son’s first trip for he and his family in their new to them C-class RV and it went very well. I am 100% confident they will be going back. Cultus Lake is absolutely a divine lake (we are Albertans so we sure appreciate BC lakes over a slough) lol. My son is officially a BC resident for over a decade now. I would highly recommend this ginormous campground. Oh and when heading through Yarrow BC be sure to stop at their infamous coffee shop and bistro. Best scones I’ve ever ate!
22 October 2019 2:02
It's so cramped! There's basically a parking lot with few skinny trees on it.you can't tell the difference between the sites and the roads.there is ZERO privacy between sites.we basically ate supper with our neighbours.some people are loud so you hear everything cause there's no trees.it's like disneyland for campers. I thought the theme park would be nice but it's just too much. Giant swing.waterpark was rusted and severe fading on the slides, looks run down.if i was to base my review just on the lake it'd be 5 stars, it was beautiful, clean, clear, warm.there was three dog beaches which was a nice touch. I paid extra for a 'lake view' tent site and couldn't see it at all from the tree line and all-season campers in front of us - if i could have moved the trees for more privacy beside us I would have!
if you're from a big city and want to camp, this would be a good place.if you're looking for rest and resetting - go across the road to the provincial park - it's close enough you could stay there and take advantage of all cultus has. AND you'll be able to sleep cause you're not camping with your neighbours.
20 October 2019 5:52
Good location with full washroom hot showers. Good play area and so many more, however it is very crowded.i felt like fish market rather than camping.

Washroom are clean once a day but overall it stays dirty so so many people uses it.

I would use this camp site as last option.
05 October 2019 7:45
Clean and quiet. Kids had so much fun on the playground- 3.5 hrs straight! The showers are free- huge bonus! Lots of trees. Laundry was reasonable.
24 September 2019 14:29
Very kid friendly. Great play area and lake. Lake is a little rocky and dirty. Advised to shower after swimming so not to get swimmers itch. Camp sites are big enough for an RV or 2 tents. They are however in close proximity to other campers. Picnic table and fire ring provided. Hot showers and bathrooms available. Get in early so its clean. There are however cleaning staff maintaining throughout the day. All in all its a good campsite.
18 September 2019 21:31
Excellent management and grounds keeping.very good security, when they say quiet time is 11: 00pm they’re serious about what they say.would definitely go back, if i could give a 10/10 star rating i would not hesitate to do so.
Thank you sunnyside for a very relaxing camping trip, from the Allan family
18 September 2019 15:40
What a weekend! Again my guy surprises me with his ability to get away and leave concerns behind. Staying in these cabins was very fun and just what the two of us needed for privacy and a quiet getaway from our lives in the lower mainland. No one to bother us and lots of fun on the water and quiet romantic evenings.
I hope he does this again.
17 September 2019 9:17
Great Family Campground. I've been going there since I was about 10 years old. Decent beaches. Store laundromat showers. Awesome amenities close by
13 September 2019 22:43
I have no complaints with this place. It's a pretty tame form of camping. If you're looking for a real wilderness experience this might not be for you. Less privacy than what you might get at a provincial campground at Cultas but larger sites.
13 September 2019 7:17
Very family friendly Campground. Has a large playground for children to play in near the store and smaller playgrounds all around near the lake. There are laundry machines and dryers should you choose to wash and dry your clothes there.

Washrooms are fairly clean and security regularly drives by the area so you feel pretty safe. The water in the showers are hot too so it's great. This is our third time coming here and the kids enjoyed every bit of it.
07 September 2019 21:50
Really nice place to bring the fam or friends. Does get rowdy on the weekends. Has a nice beach/day use is $10. It's just expensive on weekends
07 September 2019 13:08
Great place for camping with great view of the lake nearby with multiple piers. Great place to come with family. Barbecue and bonfires are allowed and log for bonfires and other essentials are provided in and shop within the campgrounds.
07 September 2019 2:12
Love this place! Great for the kids and we love to bike ride around the property.
We come here every year for the last weekend of the season when it is not as busy.
03 September 2019 4:40
It's been 10 years since our last visit to Sunnyside and it was very disappointing. Bathrooms were ALWAYS filthy, and then when they were finally cleaning them, they cleaned three at once. Leaving my toddler and I scavanging for a washroom. Truly just super dissapointed with the cleanliness of the grounds. Rec room was always locked which during rain storms is not ideal. This is the first camp ground we've been to were the rec room is room is not open during regualr hours. Dont think we will be returning.
01 September 2019 18:54
Can get dense when it is the long weekend. You are basically back to back with other camp sites and people walking around or into your campsite. Otherwise it is good for kids. Close to the beach.
23 August 2019 6:15
I live this place so much for the family safe environment for my kid who can run freely all day on her own. Your staff are exceptional and so r the security guards
15 August 2019 6:59
Was totally luck to get a camping spot at the last minute. All the kids had a great time at the playground. The store that was there pretty much had everything you forgot to get before you left (lol). Generally had a good time!
15 August 2019 1:27
This place is out of the twilight zone. It’s like a post-apocalyptic encampment. I can’t believe others like it here, but you can have my spot in the future, I won’t ever be returning. Was here for one night, was given the “last spot” which was a tenting site and we have a trailer. I was told if we don’t fit there’s no refunds. The only way we fit was because our courteous neighbours offered to move their cars so we could get our trailer in through their site. I’m grateful to our neighbours, thank you.

There is absolutely no privacy. And with over 300 sites imagine how many people are there at any given time? It’s basically a dirt parking lots with trees acting as sky cover and obstacles to parking only as they are so tall they provide no privacy between sites.

The highway, which we were across from, is very loud all night and construction noise started at 7am.

Upon checking in there was a lady with reservations whom I spoke to who booked and paid for this year’s site last year. She was told that she now had to pay more as the rate has gone up since she booked. That is just bad management. They should honour their booking and that should be an incentive for others to pre-book as they could be saving.

Can’t wait to leave and would not recommend to anyone. This is not camping and the vibe inside is seriously bizarre.
12 August 2019 12:55
Seems like 75% of the campground is seasonal. Feels like you are driving into a mobile home property. The 25% of the campsite is near the back closer to the highway that you can reserve is very close by to each other. Not a spacious site. The trees cover the sky so can't really look up at the stars. Washrooms aren't as cleaned. The tap water station just runs down the pathway where you walk. For the expensive price you pay for the campsite you would expect it to be better but not really. The only good thing is we are closer to the lake so don't have to walk far. Another good thing is the playground for the kids on the campsite.
